In general, this is a very good place for my partner to be. His needs are met and the care and the staff are very good. The lodge and gardens are well kept and very clean. The entertainment and activities provide a relief from the daily routine. This place mostly has a happy feeling.

The care that my mother receives is excellent. The staff are caring and very considerate as well as showing great patience as she has Alzheimer's Disease. The home is clean and well maintained, my mother enjoys meal times and is free to move about the common areas where there is always someone on duty.
She receives a good level of attention and staff are around to chat with her. I know at night time they regularly check on her and return her to her room, as she wanders. We are very pleased with the overall care package.

My mum attends the lodge for day care on a Friday. She always looks forward to it, the staff are always welcoming and friendly towards her, she enjoys the company there and says the meals are lovely. She had a short residential stay about a year ago while we were on holiday, which she enjoyed.

My wife and I came as a couple initially, as her health conditions were worsening, she was well cared for until her demise in March 2015. I stayed on and have also been generally well looked after.

Following severe illness my mother (94) was too infirm to return to her flat and moved into Ashbourne Lodge. She has settled in and socialise well. The wide range of lively staff have made her welcome. She has integrated well, variable moods have been accommodated by staff. Needs have been responded
to flexibility. The newly converted home is light and airy activities arranged for residents have engaged my mum and other residents.

Ashbourne Lodge, from the first day my nan moved in, have always been welcoming. The staff are always polite and approach work with a smile. My nan struggled to accept the loss of independence and mobility and the carers were keen to help. Sometimes the agency carers are slightly less friendly and helpful.
As addressed at the AGM, the lift is very small and temperamental. The front door is also difficult to use and a little frustrating. On the whole a wonderful environment and friendly professional staff.

We have found the care to be supportive, understanding and appropriate. The staff are very approachable and have dealt with any concerns/issues promptly. I have found the food to be of a very good standard and I feel that a good choice at each meal. My mother-in-law has settled remarkably well and this

Provided care and consideration so that my mother did not die alone. Overall care good - showed care, compassion and dignity. May need some further training in end of life care - terminal agitation etc.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2011

I started with Milford Care in April 2011 as a Care Assistant and then worked hard to progress within the company to reach my current role of Home Manager at Ashbourne Lodge, a position I have held since the Home opened in 2014. I find my job so rewarding and would not change it for the world as here at Ashbourne Lodge my team and I strive to make a difference to everyone who comes to stay with us. It is my passion to give good quality person-centred care, and this is an ethos which is embedded through the entire team at Ashbourne Lodge.
