My Aunt is very well looked after and seems very happy and settled. The care home is always very clean and the staff very attentive and caring.

My father-in-law entered the home at age 100. Because of our experience with his care we brought my sister to the lodge from Hertfordshire. The care shown to both has been outstanding. The staff are friendly, caring and sympathetic. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are wonderfully attentive. The physical environment is modern, bright and clean. The food is excellent. There is an interesting programme of activities for the residents. When one reads so much criticism of care homes, Ashbourne Lodge is a shining example of a care home, getting it right. I cannot speak too highly of it.

I settled in reasonably well, but I do so miss the garden.

I don't mix with others that well as I lived in an isolated house for many years on my own and got really used to my own company, also, I am by nature rather shy which is no help!

Good, I am quite content.

My only concern is the lack of rehydration with water.

First of all, my mum feels at home with Ashbourne Lodge. Staff are more than helpful and go out of their way to make the above possible. Food and drink are 5 star and always plenty at any time. Nursing care is exceptional and that is crucial for my mum's wellbeing. Cleaning in rooms and all surroundings are kept to a high standard.

In general, this is a very good place for my partner to be. His needs are met and the care and the staff are very good. The lodge and gardens are well kept and very clean. The entertainment and activities provide a relief from the daily routine. This place mostly has a happy feeling.

The care that my mother receives is excellent. The staff are caring and very considerate as well as showing great patience as she has Alzheimer's Disease. The home is clean and well maintained, my mother enjoys meal times and is free to move about the common areas where there is always someone on duty. She receives a good level of attention and staff are around to chat with her. I know at night time they regularly check on her and return her to her room, as she wanders. We are very pleased with the overall care package.

My mum attends the lodge for day care on a Friday. She always looks forward to it, the staff are always welcoming and friendly towards her, she enjoys the company there and says the meals are lovely. She had a short residential stay about a year ago while we were on holiday, which she enjoyed.

My wife and I came as a couple initially, as her health conditions were worsening, she was well cared for until her demise in March 2015. I stayed on and have also been generally well looked after.

Following severe illness my mother (94) was too infirm to return to her flat and moved into Ashbourne Lodge. She has settled in and socialise well. The wide range of lively staff have made her welcome. She has integrated well, variable moods have been accommodated by staff. Needs have been responded to flexibility. The newly converted home is light and airy activities arranged for residents have engaged my mum and other residents.

Ashbourne Lodge, from the first day my nan moved in, have always been welcoming. The staff are always polite and approach work with a smile. My nan struggled to accept the loss of independence and mobility and the carers were keen to help. Sometimes the agency carers are slightly less friendly and helpful. As addressed at the AGM, the lift is very small and temperamental. The front door is also difficult to use and a little frustrating. On the whole a wonderful environment and friendly professional staff.

We have found the care to be supportive, understanding and appropriate. The staff are very approachable and have dealt with any concerns/issues promptly. I have found the food to be of a very good standard and I feel that a good choice at each meal. My mother-in-law has settled remarkably well and this must be attributed to the care on offer.
