After a shaky start on our part, the staff have been very supportive and done their best to provide care to my father. His rapidly changing moods have meant that he is challenging to help but the more experienced carers have dealt with this with humour and kindness. The rooms could be bigger and brighter
and the furniture is minimal and a little tired-looking but the communal areas are bright and comfortable.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Mildenhall LodgeThank you for taking the time to leave feedback for Mildenhall Lodge, your feedback is greatly appreciated by the team. I am sorry to read it was a shaky start, and we understand it can be a very difficult time at the start of transitioning to a new environment. I would like to thank you for your feedback on the rooms being brighter and on the furniture. Please be reassured we will take this feedback on board and look to make improvements where needed. Thank you once again for your feedback and we hope you will soon see the improvements made where needed. Best wishes.

Highly recommended. All the staff are simply amazing. I just don't know how to begin to express my thanks to everyone at Mildenhall Lodge for their exceptional care and kindness to my mother and our entire family. They made you feel like part of a huge welcoming family so very considerate and caring.
The onsite chef and kitchen staff whipped up special requests to try to get Mum to eat when her appetite disappeared. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Making birthdays and anniversaries special celebrations. There are always activities and any excuse for a party. Weekly entertainers. The manager is very helpful friendly and easy to contact. During Mum's passing they were so considerate and caring. Assisting with difficult tasks understanding helpful and just like family. They are all so genuine. All residents are treated like family. Myself and my family are forever grateful for your support and kindness.
Reply from Hannah Nurse, Reviews Team at Mildenhall LodgeThank you very much for your lovely words, I have passed this review onto the team as it very much their hard work and dedication to ensure that your mum's care was delivered to the high standard we expect. The initial impression of the building from the outside is favourable. The entrance and reception area welcoming and the staff on duty are keen to help. Taken to my brother's room which I found light, airy and a good size. The staff whom I saw were caring and patient! My brother seems to be happy and
content living at Mildenhall Lodge. Unable to rate all areas as not applicable to me.

I have been consistently pleased with the level of care my mum received at Mildenhall Lodge. I feel that Mum is safe and well looked after and that provided me with peace of mind, which is precious. Staff are friendly and engaged. the home also arranges daily activities for residents which I consider
to be very important to stimulate and bring joy to the residents. As a regular visitor, I also appreciate the welcome I receive and the connections I have made as I navigate this difficult journey with Mum.

Due to needing care urgently, the home was very quick to action allocating a room and arranging transport from the hospital to the home. My mother-in-law has thoroughly enjoyed her stay, and has started sleeping well and eating more. It has been lovely to see her interact with the staff and other residents
and taking part in the events that are put on regularly. She has also enjoyed spending time in the garden. A big thank you to all.

My dad was resident at Mildenhall Lodge for 22 months. I knew as soon as I walked into the light, airy entrance/reception/coffee shop it would be the right care home for him and I was not wrong. His level of care has been excellent from the nursing and care staff through to reception, catering and housekeeping.
Unfortunately he was not able to take part in many of the daily activities but I was always impressed with what was on offer from the Lifestyle Team. His day-to-day care was great, the care staff very respectful and caring of him and welcoming to us, his visitors; the nursing staff did everything they possibly could for his complex health needs, always seeking advice from specialists when necessary. I always left feeling confident he was being cared for to the best of everyone's ability. I would very much recommend this care home.

A stark contrast for all the right reasons after our previous care home experience. The home is very grounded offering a high level of care where the residents are the priority. Excellent experience with all the staff - management, reception, admin, care teams, team leaders, catering, and housekeeping
- all very genuine, caring, and supportive. Reviews, updates, and communication are all forthcoming. Making a care home choice is a very difficult one but we are so pleased that we chose Mildenhall Lodge.

When I visited to see my mum back in January, I was completely amazed with the standards of the care home. The facilities were definitely better than the care homes in other places. The care provided from the workers to the residents was outstanding as they carefully and quickly responded to their needs
and requirements. They were all extremely nice and welcoming towards me as well. Overall, it's an amazing care home that the people of Mildenhall can rely on and trust.

My mum was a resident at Mildenhall Lodge for four months. I visited her most days and in that time I was always impressed by all the staff members from the front reception and office staff to those giving Mum personal care. Their kindness, caring and dedication to their job roles are all things which
will stay with me. I had been Mum’s carer for 3 years and knew quickly that Mum was in very capable and safe hands now that she needed 24-hour care. As a family, we were also very touched by the care we were shown in the difficult last 48 hours before Mum passed away. I will recommend Mildenhall Lodge to anyone looking for a care home. A very big thank you to such a wonderful team.

Mum has recently moved to Mildenhall Lodge from another Care UK home. We found the move went very smoothly, and the staff settled her in very quickly, so was not upset during the process. They organised her belongings very quickly to make her feel at home. The caring team are very proactive and excellent
at keeping us informed of her health and activities, of which there are many she can partake in. Standards of cleanliness are very high and when asked to action anything, it is done promptly. The management team are excellent and welcoming. Mum is settling in very nicely, eating well, and seems to be enjoying life as well as her abilities allow.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.876)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.876) out of 10 for Mildenhall Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Mildenhall Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (416 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 468 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mildenhall Lodge is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, I’m Ed, the Home Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Leadership in Health and Social Care and will complete my Level 5 in February 2026. I have also completed the Future Home Manager course.

My previous role was Deputy Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I decided to work at Care UK following a recommendation from a family member after the passing of a loved one, which led me to join Davers Court as a Care Assistant—and I’ve never left. I believe the key characteristics needed for my role are being patient, kind, caring, dedicated and passionate, leading by example, having strong coaching abilities, and being a real people person.

My favourite part of the working day is seeing residents enjoying their daily lives and making new memories with loved ones, colleagues and visitors, as well as watching my team grow and develop in their careers.

Outside of work, as an ex-professional dancer, I continue to enjoy dance, performance, teaching and makeup artistry, alongside gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family. My biggest career highlight to date has been working in a Care UK home that achieved an Outstanding rating in all five CQC domains.

What makes me most proud is seeing the whole home work together to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives and create new memories at Mildenhall Lodge. The most important part of my role is coaching and mentoring the entire team to deliver the very best care to our residents, relatives and visitors.
