My mum was in Mildenhall Lodge for just under a year. Sadly it was her last year as she died in hospital a week before her 94th birthday. The care she received from all the staff at Mildenhall was exceptional. She was treated with love, patience, respect, dignity, and understanding. I would like to
pay special tribute to the staff on Lynn Suite who I cannot thank enough for everything they did for my mum. They took the time to get to know her as an individual and not just another elderly person with dementia and other health problems. Communication was excellent and we were always made to feel welcome when we visited from the minute we walked into the reception. There was a full activity programme and being able to keep up with events and news on their social media page was great. The food was always of a high quality and staff were happy to adapt meals. The cafe, dining rooms and corridors are all bright, clean and the environment inside and out is accessible and stimulating.
Thank you.

Mildenhall Lodge Care Home is an excellent care home. All the staff are caring and kind. From the management to the carers, cooks, cleaners, activities co-ordinators. It is a great reassurance to us as a family to know and see Mum is so well cared for. The carers looking after Mum have really listened
to us, the family and have taken on board the unique things that make our Mum, our Mum. At Christmas, she was taken to a carol service - that met Mum's emotional and spiritual needs. It's the little things that staff at the care home do for Mum that have given us real confidence that caring for the residents is at the heart of everything they do. The carers knowledge and expertise is clearly evident, and any health issue no matter how small is always flagged up to us - the family. Mum has a quality of care in Mildenhall Lodge looked after by a team of people that truly care. I would highly recommend this care home.

I am just writing to say I can't thank Mildenhall Lodge enough for the care they gave my father in the last months of his life. The care they gave him on Lynn suite was outstanding with all the care and dignity anybody could wish for. There's not one person that could be singled out because they were
all such a good team.

I have nothing but praise for this home and Miller Suite. In the five months that my sister has been there, she has been shown care and concern of a high degree. Everyone from the receptionist, the maintenance man, the entertainment lady and the rest of an outstanding team.
On her recent birthday,
the kitchen made a delicious cake and everyone made a fuss of her. No wonder she has settled in so well. Thank you.

The care my mother receives from all the staff is 'exceptional'. She is diligently monitored and cared for. Any health issues are reported back to us immediately. All the carers are very well trained/qualified. Every task is completed calmly and efficiently and they always have a smile on their faces.
The home is always clean, tidy and well organised. Food excellent. It is a huge relief to know that my mother is being so well looked after and I would recommend this care home without reservation.

Such a great Care Home with extremely caring staff. I know my mum is completely safe and cared for, respected and loved by staff as if she was part of their own family. Lovely modern place with great rooms and public areas and food excellent. Whichever suite the staff work in they appear to know the
names of all residents. A truly fantastic place.

Care for my Mum is outstanding. Mum has Dementia and was extremely anxious and agitated before moving into the Care Home. The staff have gone above and beyond to make Mum feel safe and welcome; they have been very caring and their hard work has meant Mum is now settled and becoming content in her surroundings.
The staff are always welcoming and friendly and have time to talk and listen. Feedback is always welcomed and discussed openly. I have peace when I leave my Mum after visiting knowing that she is being well cared for and looked after.

Generally very happy with the service. Mum is well looked after and seems settled. A number of personal items have been lost including hearing aids, glasses and items of clothing. This is frustrating but perhaps not unexpected given the number of residents.
I have also noticed mum is much more settled
with regular staff and her character well known.
However, new staff are often unaware of her routines.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Mildenhall LodgeThank you very much for your wonderful feedback regarding Mildenhall Lodge. We are so pleased that you are so happy with the overall service provided.

I am sorry that your mother has had some items mislaid during the time she has been living at Mildenhall Lodge. As you have mentioned, it is unfortunately not always unexpected due to the number of residents residing in the home living in a dementia care setting.

We are always growing the team and looking for new dedicated colleagues to join us. As I know you will appreciate, it will always take a little while for new colleagues to get to know residents and for residents to get to know new colleagues, but they are always supported by existing colleagues. Please always feel free to discuss any concerns you have with us at the time, so that we can try and resolve them for you. Thank you again!

My mother has been a resident at Milden Lodge since September 2018 and we (her family) are extremely pleased with the excellent level of care and support she is receiving. That gives us all great peace of mind knowing she is in the best place. All the staff are very caring, well trained and competent
in understanding and meeting the needs of caring for people with dementia.
We are kept informed immediately of any incidents or changes in my mother's condition - an all-around excellent care home.

I can see very clearly why Mildenhall Lodge Care Home got 'outstanding'! I regularly visit a resident at the care home whom I am very close to. This care home has so much to offer, fantastic, friendly staff and management. Entertainment, care and support, wonderful food, which I have experienced. Cleanliness
of the home and rooms are very good. A wonderful coffee shop to spend time with loved ones and friends, and dine with too. This is a lovely home to care for your loved ones or friends, so come in, have a look, everyone is made to feel welcome.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.876)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.876) out of 10 for Mildenhall Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Mildenhall Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (416 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 468 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mildenhall Lodge is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Edward Benton-Bye

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, I’m Ed, the Home Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Leadership in Health and Social Care and will complete my Level 5 in February 2026. I have also completed the Future Home Manager course.

My previous role was Deputy Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I decided to work at Care UK following a recommendation from a family member after the passing of a loved one, which led me to join Davers Court as a Care Assistant—and I’ve never left. I believe the key characteristics needed for my role are being patient, kind, caring, dedicated and passionate, leading by example, having strong coaching abilities, and being a real people person.

My favourite part of the working day is seeing residents enjoying their daily lives and making new memories with loved ones, colleagues and visitors, as well as watching my team grow and develop in their careers.

Outside of work, as an ex-professional dancer, I continue to enjoy dance, performance, teaching and makeup artistry, alongside gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family. My biggest career highlight to date has been working in a Care UK home that achieved an Outstanding rating in all five CQC domains.

What makes me most proud is seeing the whole home work together to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives and create new memories at Mildenhall Lodge. The most important part of my role is coaching and mentoring the entire team to deliver the very best care to our residents, relatives and visitors.
