I am so pleased my husband came to Mildenhall Lodge. It's the best care home he has been in, the staff are lovely and kind to him as he has dementia. I can feel relaxed that he is in their care, no one wants your loved one taken away from home but to know I can see him anytime I want and he is happy.
There is a lovely garden here, we can walk around which he likes to do, the other people that also are being looked after are nice to one another and are pleased to be together. I often stay and have lunch with my husband. It's a wonderful meal.

I have given a 'good' for management and safety/security solely because I don't know the inner workings. My dealings with Mildenhall in this vein appear to be very good. Management dealing with me personally have been good. I would say that during my visiting [end May to middle July] it was difficult
to gain access after 5 o'clock (PM) as there was no-one on the front desk and ringing the bell produced no response. Other 'visitors' let me in.

The standard/care/facilities/meals and so on are top notch.

Neighbours of my father, friends and relatives all report the same and think the Mildenhall Home is marvellous.

The care of my father is wonderful. Everyone whom I have met has been understanding, caring and attentive. I know he is in the best hands possible.

Reply from Amy Wilson, AD at Mildenhall LodgeThank you very much for your wonderful feedback regarding your father’s care at Mildenhall Lodge. We are delighted that you are so happy with the overall service provided and that he is happy here.

I am sorry that you have had difficulties in getting in the home after 5pm. Our reception and admin teams leave at 5pm, and residents’ meals are being served by staff at around this time, so there would be limited availability for staff to answer the door. However, we are able to share the door codes with immediate family, so we would be able to provide you with these as a daughter of a resident. This should make gaining access easier for you in future. Please always feel free to discuss any concerns you have with us, so that we can try and resolve them for you. Thank you once again for your very positive feedback.

I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at Mildenhall Lodge. From the speed with which Dad was assessed in hospital and admitted (4 days!) to the care and support he has received from day one, I have found everyone “goes the extra mile” for the residents.

Staff have taken the time to get to

know Dad to ensure he is happy and his needs are being met and I have the peace of mind he is being well looked after. They keep me very well informed of any issues and have been a tremendous support to me as Dad makes the difficult transition from living independently to living in a Home.

There is a warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step into the Home and everywhere is light and spacious.

The food is excellent, there is a varied menu and the chefs are more than happy to cater to individual needs. The Activities Organiser offers a wide range of activities and is always looking for new ideas to engage residents.

Dad could not be in a better Home!

At a time when my Uncle needed care due to the onset of dementia, the support my family were given by Mildenhall was outstanding. It made a very difficult time more bearable and filled us with confidence that our beloved uncle was going to get the best care possible. Since being at the home he has settled
well and nothing is too much trouble for the dedicated team that work there. It was the best decision we have ever made and we cannot thank the staff enough for their unconditional efforts to provide a first class service all round.

It is great to know mum is safe and well cared for, all the staff are always attentive ensuring mum has the help she needs and involving her in the various activities and days out.
It is good to see her happy and smiling, especially when she pops up in the photos of the homes facebook page. A special
mention must go to the 'Canine Relations Manager' who always welcomes our dog Tilly when on her visits to see mum...It is a lovely home for mum and a pleasure to see her there.

Everyone at Mildenhall Lodge truly cares.

I have been so impressed with the beautiful facilities provided, but the key factor is the staff who run it - from the carers, kitchen, cleaners and the management. As a family member, I am always welcomed whenever I visit Mum, any concerns are quickly addressed

with main priority given to the care for my mother. Their consideration of her needs has been outstanding, as well as providing support to both Mum and her family.
The activities have also become an important part of Mum's care and it is so good to see her regain smile and enjoying herself.

All accolades to this fantastic team and all they have achieved are well-deserved.

First day my mum arrived, she was very poorly.
The staff were very caring and monitored her very well. Nothing is too much trouble, everything myself or sister have asked for has been done straight away.
Mum is very well now and that is due to the management and staff. Keep up the good work. My mum
is doing great.

The Mildenhall Lodge is a beautiful place, staffed by warm and friendly staff who really care about my father and the other guests.
When you walk in the door, you get an immediate sense of contentment, which truly reflects the situation at Mildenhall Lodge.
We visited a dozen or more care homes on
behalf of my father before selecting Mildenhall Lodge - thank goodness we were able to place him here.

My mother is Mildenhall Lodge. I can't praise the home enough. Mum has been here almost 2 years. Everything about this home is wonderful. The manager is exceptional along with all the staff, nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful accommodation and wonderful activities.
The home even arranged a nice party for mum on her 90th. The chefs did a brilliant job. I can't praise this place enough, thanks to everyone.

My step-grandmother’s stay of nearly four weeks at Mildenhall Lodge could not have been better. Whilst she was there, I rang her most days and she never said a single bad word about anyone or anything there. She thought the staff, food and facilities were wonderful, as did I. When I visited Mildenhall
Lodge to set everything up before she moved in, I immediately became aware of the professional and caring manner of all those I came into contact with, and received excellent and concise advice.

When I visited my step-grandmother a few times, I found that staff in the Garland Suite could not have been more helpful and kind and I noticed the genuinely caring, positive and thoughtful way they dealt with everyone. The teamwork throughout the home is first class.

This is a real Care home, the staff all truly care!
The atmosphere is welcoming; the activities carefully aimed at the less physically able and the less mentally able but extremely interesting and fun.
The food is brilliant and there are always homemade cakes to accompany the coffee.
The nursing
staff are observant and informative, whilst everyone is open and friendly.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.876)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.876) out of 10 for Mildenhall Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Mildenhall Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (416 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 468 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mildenhall Lodge is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, I’m Ed, the Home Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Leadership in Health and Social Care and will complete my Level 5 in February 2026. I have also completed the Future Home Manager course.

My previous role was Deputy Manager at Mildenhall Lodge. I decided to work at Care UK following a recommendation from a family member after the passing of a loved one, which led me to join Davers Court as a Care Assistant—and I’ve never left. I believe the key characteristics needed for my role are being patient, kind, caring, dedicated and passionate, leading by example, having strong coaching abilities, and being a real people person.

My favourite part of the working day is seeing residents enjoying their daily lives and making new memories with loved ones, colleagues and visitors, as well as watching my team grow and develop in their careers.

Outside of work, as an ex-professional dancer, I continue to enjoy dance, performance, teaching and makeup artistry, alongside gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family. My biggest career highlight to date has been working in a Care UK home that achieved an Outstanding rating in all five CQC domains.

What makes me most proud is seeing the whole home work together to ensure residents lead fulfilling lives and create new memories at Mildenhall Lodge. The most important part of my role is coaching and mentoring the entire team to deliver the very best care to our residents, relatives and visitors.
