Eastbourne House Care Home

Albeit restricted by covid rules, I have found the conditions and surroundings provided for residents to be of a very high standard. Provision has been made for Activities but covid rules have limited my ability to see them or take a view on the likely benefit to residents. This should be seen as a priority as covid 19 restrictions are eased. Thank you to all concerned.

I have found all staff friendly and seem genuinely fond of mum. Her room is always clean - especially the bathroom. I am greeted with a friendly attitude and the whole experience has been much better than I could have imagined. Putting Mam into care was the last thing I wanted but is most certainly the best place for her.

The home feels like a big family and the staff make amazing efforts to keep residents safe and well. All occasions are cause for celebration, most recently Valentine's Day. Huge shout out to all the Eastbourne staff - carers, laundry, kitchen and managers, and well-being team.

The care, love, and attention my mum receives here is second to none. As her daughter, I am totally happy that she is enjoying being here. The peace of mind this gives me is wonderful knowing that should anything happen to my mum in my absence I know it will be dealt with in a caring and professional manner. The staff really are 5-star as are the facilities.

Dad came for respite in March 2021. It became clear that he would be unable to return to his home. After a great deal of decision-making, I chose Eastbourne House as the right place for him. It took dad a good 3-4 months to settle. I am happy to say he is well cared for. The staff on his floor show complete compassion and communication is good.

I came here for two weeks respite following knee surgery. Because of the current situation, I had to isolate for the entire time. I could not have wished for anywhere better to spend my 'isolation'. The care I received over the whole time was exceptional - I could not be happier.

My mother continues to receive outstanding care at Eastbourne House. There is a warm, friendly engagement from all staff members that I have met during my visits. The home is spotlessly clean and is a safe and secure environment. My mother is treated with respect and dignity by all staff and the activity programme is varied and gives great enjoyment to my mother.

First-rate care home. My mother is extremely well looked after and she is happy here. The staff are highly competent, hardworking and friendly. The building is well-designed and well-lit with wonderful views of the sea and the lighthouse. Highly recommend.

Staff excellent and helpful. Every comfort available. Cleanliness very good. Food excellent and a good choice available.

However, when it was time to move her to a different room, this did not go well. The move was not explained to this resident and she did not like the new arrangement. It took 5 days to swap a bed and a chair round to make her more comfortable.

My mother has received excellent care during the past four years. The staff are dedicated, caring and work so hard. It is one big family. All the staff from the management to the kitchen, cleaning, laundry, activities, office, hairdressers, and especially the carers all strive to give the very best care. I can't thank them enough.

Eastbourne House is a very special place. I live abroad and the care my mum has received is without fault. To see her face light up when staff are with her and the respect and patience they show her. Even when busy nothing is too much trouble and they take all the time my mum needs. Eastbourne House treats my mum like family and it shows in the care Eastbourne House provides.

The lady I visit only has relatives living abroad. At Eastbourne House, she is treated and cared for like a family member. The staff go above and beyond what is expected of them. I cannot rate the care home and its staff highly enough.

As I have not seen the room, it is probably fair to say that it has been described to me as small, but with all amenities required. The food seems to be of a good standard with care being taken to ensure variety and nutritional value. My sister has settled in well and is enjoying the company of like-minded ladies. She has found most of the activities interesting, but does not always participate (her choice)!

My grandad has been a resident at Eastbourne House throughout the pandemic. It has been reassuring to know that my grandad has been supported by caring staff where we have been unable to see him. He has been satisfied with the activities, meals and care he has received here.

I am extremely happy with the care provided for my mother at Eastbourne House. The staff go out of their way to ensure her well-being and always treat her with dignity and compassion.

Eastbourne is a well-run care home with staff dedicated to looking after my mum. Any issues have been dealt with quickly and mum seems happy and comfortable.

My mother has been a frequent resident of Eastbourne House since October 2016. Apart from this year, I have been a frequent visitor and have always been impressed with the overall decor and cleanliness of her surroundings. I have had the pleasure of dealing with most of the carers and have always found them capable, friendly and attentive. I am confident that she is very well looked after. I have just visited her for the first time since March this year (covid). In her own words, she is very happy in her home. She looked really healthy and comfortable, and I was most relieved about this. The manager and her administrative staff have been always very approachable and helpful whenever called upon for any reason. Overall, my mother and I are both very happy with Eastbourne House.

I have visited mum twice now following a long period of no visits taking place. I was very happy to see mum clean, tidy and very cheerful and positive. She only ever speaks well of the staff and the care they give her, and despite the difficulties of the last year, she is in good health and spirits which I am deeply thankful for. The home's efforts to safeguard residents during the pandemic have been excellent.

Friendly caring staff. Beautifully kept rooms and common areas. Food seems very good. Lots of contact for families. Clear communication. Lots of great activities and outings. Staff have protected our parents during COVID. Huge praise and thanks for this.
