It's a nice environment. Staff show interest in my mother and what I think about the care.

They encourage engagement in group activities. My mother seems to have a good rapport with the staff.

There have been occasional impatience from carers in relation to lack of mobility of my mother.

Some communication issues between staff regarding the latest recommendation from the district nurse in relation to her pressure sore.

Staff work very hard. They listen to you and do their best to address any questions, comments and concerns as quickly as possible. Staff are extremely caring and kind to my relatives. They also value them as individuals and enjoy their company. The care home is of a very high standard, welcoming and I enjoy going there as it feels like part of the family. There are often lots of humorous times and interesting activities too. The manager has an open door policy and is very interested in the residents and their families.

Both of my parents have been residents at Eastbourne House for about 2 years. In that time, they have been treated with kindness, respect and professionalism. I am welcome at any time and love the fact that I can help myself to tea or coffee. The staff always have the time to let me know how my parents have been. Care is always tailored to their specific needs and they are treated as if in their own homes. A lovely place with lovely people.

Satisfactory in general terms but improvements could be made. For example; food and use of could be improved. Staff discipline should be strengthened.

Mam has lived here for the last 2 and a half years. I feel she is well cared for. Staff, on the whole, are friendly and supportive. The home is clean - nice décor. Mam is always well presented. My only criticism is when Mam become unwell, staff are slow on the uptake ie. taking antibiotics.

Staff members have been reduced and consequently, staff are always in a rush. The entertainment officer is occupied with caring duties and do does not have the time to do what she is meant to do. A trip this week was cancelled because we were told, the bus had broken down.

Despite this, the staff are excellent. They treat me with dignity and respect, but they do appear overworked.

The staff are good but overworked and can't respond to the demands of some of the residents promptly. During my stay (16 months) the number of staff changes was disturbing. I am of the opinion that seniors medically should have more nursing experience to cope with some residents needs - standards vary depending on floor location.
