The team at mum's home go above and beyond. Mum looks happy and cared for, even during this time of COVID. We have a large family and the carers do everything they can to keep us informed. Appreciate them very much.

My mam has settled into Eastbourne and relates well to all staff. I feel that staff go the extra mile to ensure that she has the care she requires and the extra attention for her particular needs. My mam loves hugs, company, dancing, good laughs and daily activities and the carers know this! They talk to her about her family and reassure her when she feels anxious. They have all worked so hard during the pandemic to keep all residents safe and have been well-led by their manager. I really appreciate their efforts! Thank you to you all.

My mother, who can be very ‘challenging’ has been living at Eastbourne House for about a year now, and I have nothing but praise for the way the staff patiently deal with her and provide her with the care and most importantly the company and conversation she needs. So thanks to all concerned, it must have been - and remains - a very difficult time for all the staff during the current pandemic but they appear to be coping superbly. I would recommend Eastbourne House without hesitation.

I can speak for myself and my family that Eastbourne House is wonderful! My dad is happier than he has been for a long time since arriving at Eastbourne House. The standard of care is second to none.
We get regular updates about what is going on at Eastbourne House, and of how Dad is. When we phone to check up on him, we always have a detailed summary on what is going on for Dad with activities, outings etc (pre-COVID).
During the pandemic we have also regular updates on health - and are incredibly impressed that all tests continue to come back negative - staff and residents included.
Eastbourne House have facilitated FaceTime calls with Dad - and it's so great to see him happy and safe. He has a phone nearby so we can chat to him regularly. Eastbourne House also facilitated for Dad to 'virtually' attend his sister's funeral. We can't wait to see him in person.

Thanks for all your care.

The care staff have been very helpful and supportive, particularly in arranging out-patient appointments and travel to and from hospitals. They have shown interest in items I have been knitting and have helped me with posting 'business' letters and cards.

Myself and my family all are extremely happy with the care, food and facilities that Eastbourne House offer. I just want to thank the staff for the kindness and professionalism caring for my mother and others. Eastbourne House must be the best care home in the North East, if not in the country. A big thank you.

My wife has been resident here for 2 years, and during that time my daily close observations have given one confidence that she is receiving the best of care. Carers, who over time, have informed close relationships with each of the dementia suffers. Such closeness takes time to develop; seeing the same faces on a daily basis brings about a sense of security and safeness to even the worst affected, and, of course, the family too benefit from knowing that their loved one is in safe hands by seeing the familiar faces of carers, who, to the residents is just another member of the family.

Eastbourne House provides excellent care within comfortable and modern surroundings. The home is welcoming and the management and staff strive to involve relatives and friends in resident's care. Staff are observant and attentive. I have often witnessed their attempts to create a happy atmosphere, whether or not individual residents choose to take part in the many activities on offer.

Very good, staff lovely. Everything was good. Only one problem, a lady close to my mum's room was in a lot of distress and screamed quite chillingly, very upsetting to listen to. The poor soul should not have been there.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, TBC at Eastbourne House Care Home

We are very sorry about the disruption of your recent stay at Eastbourne House. We aim to make everyone’s stay with us as pleasant and comfortable but unfortunately, we have some residents who at times can become poorly and be disorientated due to infections, we act quickly and promptly to assist any residents who become unwell, as this can be upsetting for everyone involved.

My mother has been at Eastbourne House for the past two years. Her care has been amazing. She enjoyed all the music events - dancing away to songs.

Unfortunately, she has had to leave and go into nursing care, otherwise, I would have been more than happy to keep her at Eastbourne House if she has been well enough.

My neighbour has only recently become a resident at Eastbourne House and so far I have visited her twice so my views are limited to these occasions. However, my overall impression of her care is excellent as are the facilities available to her. The home itself is well situated, immaculate and staff available and friendly at all times and alert to the needs of their occupants. It is a pleasure to visit.
