Avalon Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

My mum stayed at Avalon Court Care Home for a period of 4 weeks for respite care following a hip replacement operation. Throughout her stay, she was treated with kindness, care and support by all the staff. They alleviated all our worries so that she was in a position to return to her own home. The staff always respond positively to any requests and were extremely helpful to both my mum and myself. I would recommend the care home and the staff unreservedly.

My aunt has been at Avalon Court Care Home since the beginning of May after suddenly having to move from another care home. She has been diagnosed with dementia and could have been very confused and upset by the sudden change. However, all the staff from our first meetings with management and visitor reception, have been reassuring welcoming and very professional. She has actually been thriving in all aspects having fun and enjoying the safe attractive, caring environment. Her care plan was amended with a couple of days of admission and any issues are dealt with promptly by any of the knowledgeable staff.

I attended the dinner and dance at Avalon Court with my mother. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Everyone had made a tremendous effort. There was a singer and dancing afterwards which everyone enjoyed. Very good night.

I've been very impressed with Avalon Court care home. It was a tough decision to place our Dad in care, but right from the start we knew we'd made the right choice with Avalon. He's safe, well cared for, is getting more exercise than he was able to at home, and has a fuller social life. All the staff are a joy to interact with, and it's clear that they really do care about the residents. The food is amazing, facilities, decor, and standard of maintenance are excellent; we've come to refer to Avalon as a "hotel with care" as it has such high standards. It's very comforting to know that at this stage of Dad's life he's enjoying himself and has the level of care he needs. Thank you all so much.

When mum came to the care home she was upset and confused. She is now settled and contented. Mum has a lovely room, the staff are all lovely and I know I leave her in very capable hands. The home is like an upmarket hotel, decorated lovely which I'm sure the residents appreciate when leaving their own home behind.

The general standard of care is very good, however, more activities in the dementia area would be very beneficial and much needed. Music played in the reception/Bistro area should reflect on the age of the residents.

During the two weeks of respite that my mother required the staff at Avalon Court Care Home were so attentive to her needs, she wanted for nothing and was encouraged to take part in all activities which helped my mums self confidence something that required a boost due to ill health she recently experienced. All in all a first class home.

I have been able to stay in the guest room while spending time with my mother. This has been a very welcome opportunity and a good experience. It has allowed me to get to know the staff and routines and appreciate the good care that my mother is receiving. Travelling from New Zealand, it has made things much easier. Thank you.

My uncle has been a resident since last August as he is not able to live at home anymore. He was reluctant to leave his home, however, he has settled in very well. He is receiving excellent care and the staff have been wonderful to him. I am just thankful that he is in such a lovely caring environment. A big thank you to all the staff at Avalon Court.

My mum-in-law had her 88th birthday on 9th December. We couldn't attend but the home provided a great afternoon tea in a quiet area on the 11th December for us. The staff were wonderful and she really responded to the occasion. The staff are wonderful with her and we are very happy with the home. Always ten out of ten.

Went to visit dad from Northern Ireland, found the home to be extremely clean, staff very friendly, nothing is too much trouble, stayed in the quiet room, everything provided for us. Meals very good, we were able to help ourselves to coffee, cake etc outside of meal times as well. Staff trained to high standard, very helpful and polite. Resident are treated with the support and dignity they deserve. Cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough.

Enjoyed my stay at Avalon Court. Everything possible was provided for us in the quiet room, meals excellent, would highly recommend.

As noted my mother (104) who has dementia has been a reluctant resident since August 2016. The staff have worked incredibly hard to make her feel welcome and integrated not always easy! Amazingly the staff have managed to take her out on a trip and also get her dancing as her birthday. We cannot remember the last time she participated in such activity well done with much appreciation.

Mum has been here at Avalon Court for two weeks and I have nothing but praise for the way in which she is being cared for. The staff are wonderful. They treat Mum with so much dignity and respect.

My experience of Avalon Court was how the staff treat residents with dignity and respect, which I found this very comforting.

My dad was in the care home initially for three weeks and there another four weeks before he died. As a Doctor of palliative care I am aware of what constitutes good care and I found the staff to be sensitive, caring and compassionate (which my dad also agreed with) I even though he was there a total of seven weeks they made us as a family and him feel it was home.

My experience is very clean and caring environment, my relative seems very happy here.
