My sister has been at Britten Court for several months now. She has a diagnosis of vascular dementia at the young age of 71. We, her family, are really pleased that she has been fortunate enough to be placed at B.C by the council. Having spent the best part of two days with her at BC, I am able to confirm that she has an excellent relationship with all the care staff and they are indeed, very caring. BC is clean and safe and the food excellent. All my queries were readily addressed and the staff could not have been more accomodating. Well done team!

What a wonderful care home in so many ways, from the staff-at all levels- to the purpose built property. The team are always engaged, attentive, kind and enthusiastic to provide excellent care for Mum, which really helps to support her with dignity in her final years.
The management team also have an open "door" policy for both the residents and relatives that adds to that reassurance and peace of mind that the best care is achieved.

As I mentioned the building/rooms are of a high standard ,giving it the feeling of a home from home but with a hotel quality, as is the professional catering with many choices of excellent menus all produced on-site. A super touch is the coffee shop where you can meet together and even have a meal together. Laundry and maintenance teams add to provide an excellent overall standard. I'm happy to highly recommend the Brtten Court team.

The carers have always shown care & respect to mother in law even though at times she can be very rude & aggressive. The staff have gone out of their way to help us improve her room to make it comfortable, homely & practical for them to keep clean. My children are always made to feel welcome by all the staff.

We moved mum from another home. Immediatly she was shown so much care. The staff made me feel very welcome and showed I could be as involved as I would like.
On visiting all staff could update me on mum's day. They are very patient with mum. Her food intake has increased and the biggest thing is mum being hoisted into a chair and Ive been able to take her into the garden (she hadn't been out of bed for over a year)

The managment are fully involved and nothing is too much trouble.

What an amazing place. Wonderful staff, very welcoming and can't do enough for you. Spotlessly clean and has a lovely atmosphere. What they do for entertainment for the elderly is just amazing. They recognise every occasion and include everyone in that.

My father-in-law is so happy there, he says its like staying in a luxury hotel. Excellent! Can't praise it enough

Overall very pleased with care received but care is sometimes patchy - due to being short staff I suspect. Would prefer Mum to be out of bed more - recently was not helped to a chair for six consecutive days. Although not able to take part in many activities she likes to watch others and see outside. Sometimes feel she is forgotten about because she is not demanding but happy and compliant.

Chloe Swarbrick
Chloe SwarbrickJob Title:Home Manager

I originally began working for Care UK when it took over the running of various homes operated by Suffolk County Council. The organisation truly puts residents at the heart of everything, which I completely support. It’s also very supportive as an employer – as a manager I have a great support network to help me do my job to the highest standards.

I enjoy mornings the most at Britten Court: many residents are up and about and I can spend time with them, having a chat and finding out how they plan to spend their day. I’m privileged to work with some wonderful residents and families, including some people we’ve been supporting for a long time because they transferred from the old Council-run homes as I did!

Outside of work, I have a very busy home life. I’ve three children and eight grandchildren who I love spending time with.
