Staff at Ebor Court were absolutely fantastic with my grandad from the day he arrived to the day he passed away. They did everything they could to make him comfortable in his final days. We appreciate everything they did for him.
Thank you so much for your review of Erbor Court. We really appreciate you taking the time to write such lovely words at what must be a difficult time for you and your family. It is lovely to hear your kind words regarding our carers and I will be sure to share them with the whole staff team.
The care provided was first class, the food, outstanding, cleanliness superb and a very good range of activities to join in.
The ensuite rooms are extremely welcoming and comfortable.

My husband was cared for with kindness, care and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble and all our questions were answered. There was an overall friendliness throughout the stay. The food was tasty, activities were catered for and cleanliness was apparent.
Thank you so much for your lovely review about our home and the Ebor Court team. We are so pleased to hear how well your husband enjoyed his stay at Ebor Court. The staff team will be delighted to hear your kind words which I shall be sure to pass along.
Ebor is running the best I've ever seen. The most recent management team have created a better more stable environment. Morale is excellent which creates a happier, stable team which is of higher quality just since the management team was put in place. I feel the care received is of a good standard and my opinions are taken into account. Really great that the continuity of bank staff is in place rather than using an agency. On my floor bank/regulars are equally as good. Shame I can't highlight names.
Thank you so much for your review of Ebor Court. Feedback is extremely important to us and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very proud of our staff team, many of whom have been with us since our home opened, and we see lots of examples of them going...
My Dad spent 2 weeks at Ebor Court in Poppleton, nr. York, after undergoing surgery in Leeds hospital. My Dad was having 2 weeks of respite care at Ebor Court. I brought him to Ebor Court on Friday 15th February. There were some items missing in the room, the key to the drawer mentioned in the contract but no key materialised throughout his stay, no shower curtain. By Sunday Dad had norovirus which some of the other residents also had - he recovered after a day or two. I visited on Wed. 20th February. Dad was ok (he is a fully functioning 89-year-old). My husband and I visited again on Thursday with rumours of norovirus at the home, on Friday morning we were not allowed in as norovirus again confirmed. Dad was ok and luckily did not catch the virus. There were no visitors allowed until he left. Dad came out of Ebor Court on Friday 1st March, he was very happy to leave. The staff were helpful and caring but the home would not be recommended by my Dad from his short experience.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. All feedback is important to us and we will ensure that our Home Manager looks into the points you have raised and shares them with the team to help us to continually improve. Occasionally, illness can be brought into our home even though we do our...
I often leave after visits upset by his condition (dementia) as this is not the dad I knew but the staff always check I am OK as well as reassuring me of dad's care. I always feel they love him even though he is pretty awkward at times and am eternally grateful that these wonderful carers are there for Dad at a time when he is incapable of many/most of the things he used to do for himself.
My wife has been into Ebor Court for respite care where I found first of all the staff were most friendly and helpful right from the start. My wife has been on two occasions now for respite and it is like a second home, all the staff have time to speak to you and they treat you as if they were our family. The facilities are first class with lots of room to move about and everywhere is spotless. I would have no hesitation to recommend Ebor Court to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.
I do not think the mix of residents with physical and mental challenges on the same floor was always appropriate but when staff and management were made aware they did try to resolve specific issues. But Ebor Court are wonderful in their level of care and compassion and we as family of a resident became part of "their family" very quickly. It is very hard to relinquish daily responsibilities of a cherished mum to strangers but 2nd-floor staff proved a safe pair of hands. Regular staff soon got to know mum and us and it was important to have that continuity, always available to answer questions - keep us updated and offer advice and that vital link between Dr's and changed medication and what that entailed. Nothing was too much trouble- we never felt in the way. As end of life was obvious the staff were outstanding and the night managers were amazing to the finish which will always remain with us. Would recommend Ebor Court to everyone and have in fact done so since 2017.
My Mother moved into Ebor Court earlier this year. She is on the second floor.
I am extremely pleased with the care and attention she receives. The food is of a good standard and there appears to be frequent activities.
My mother appears to have settled in well at Ebor Court even though she has had to be moved already and there is talk of a further move ( not good for someone with dementia) As I live a good distance from York I have not been able to visit much however on the occasions I have been everything appears to have been in order and satisfactory.
I am thrilled that my mother has settled well into Ebor. The staff have made great efforts to encourage and include her and Christmas was very special. The choice and frequency of activities are excellent. All staff are thoughtful, kind and attentive. I am extremely happy with the catering and the encouragement is given to residents to enjoy a cup of tea at any time of day. Visitors are always welcome and the atmosphere is relaxed and happy. The building is bright and airy. Rooms are kept clean but occasionally hand sanitizer and paper towels run out so a frequent check on these supplies would be appreciated. My only real concern is the laundry system. We are frequently not receiving my mother's laundry back despite it being labelled correctly. This is disappointing as it is a service included in the recent fee increase. May I suggest your laundry system requires review? Overall, well done to all staff at Ebor Court for creating a lovely, homely and safe environment.

I feel maybe there aren't enough staff on duty at times. The care Dad gets is excellent, the carers seem to do their best to understand his needs, which can change hourly.
I would like to see more activities where residents are encouraged to join in more. Also maybe more small/short trips out for just coffee, these then wouldn't be too expensive and residents could maybe get out more often.
The meals sound very good, Dad says they are excellent on the whole, but there now seems to be a lack of homemade cakes available, as there was when he first went in.
I have noticed that on the whole, Dad receives excellent care and I feel confident that he is safe at all times, which is the main thing.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ebor Court. Ideal Carehomes appreciates all feedback about our homes and following your review would like to advise you that Staff complete mandatory paperwork during their shift, to ensure they are visible at all times for residents. We feel this is...
The activities are good, residents seem happy and well cared for. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and pleasant. It is a modern building which is light and airy. I would recommend this care home.
We will always be grateful to the care which she received at Ebor Court during her final days there. I would definitely recommend this care home to others.
When my grandmother moved into Ebor Court a year ago, we were thrilled with the staff, the building, everything. Since then the fees have increased by about 12% and it has gone from a CQC good rating to 'requires improvement', prominent staff appear to have left and they seem stretched. My grandmother's room is not kept sufficiently clean, particularly the bathroom area and I do not get the number of updates about her that I used to get. The staff who work with the residents genuinely care and are really wonderful with them, but it's all the other little things that are missing (see the July CQC report for details) that makes me wonder whether we have made a very costly mistake in choosing Ebor Court.

This is a light and bright care home with ample communal spaces. My mother settled in here quickly, and is happy amongst the other residents and enjoys their company. The carers are very attentive and are quick to resolve any problems without being intrusive.
