My mother moved to Larkhill Hall in June 2015. The staff made her feel very welcome and have continued to do so. Her room is warm and cosy and spotlessly clean, as is the whole care home. I would strongly recommend this home and have done so.

I have been coming to Harkhill for about seven months giving holey communion to residents. The first person I met at the home was time was the receptionist, I felt really welcomed by her and felt her warmth and hospitality right away. I feel the residents are well looked after by all the staff. Who
are all friendly and attend to the residents well.

Seeing a family member struggling without no longer being able to use a phone made nan really upset. The staff are so reassuring and allow us at anytime to call and speak to nan, as sometimes hearing my voice calms her down. They will call me if they cannot settle her down of a night. We are so grateful
for this, as it makes our night calmer and can sleep knowing nanna is content. Great place. Fantastic and empathic staff.

My family and I spent many weeks looking for the right care placement for my mother who has dementia.
I was a medical professional and had worked with the elderly in care facilities . We knew what care we wanted for our mother and had difficulty finding a place that came close to what we would accept.
Until, we found Larkhill Hall. We cannot praise them enough. Our mother has improved immensely and looks so relaxed and younger than when she was struggling at home. My father also spent time at Larkhill on the residential floor, until his passing. They not only cared for my father but supported my sister emotionally during this sad time. I live in another country and I so happy to know that my mother is in such a caring place.

Larkhill is a model example of how all Care Homes should be. Modern, well equipped, built with the needs of residents at the forefront and an attention to detail.

There is clearly an ethos that runs from the management all the way through the staff group that is very person centred. The welcome

from reception and at every point onwards is warm, sincere and genuine.

There are so many positives it would be impossible to mention them all, but what I will say is that I have yet to come across a home with higher standards of care, including the physical environment which is second to none.

It is never easy going through the process of choosing a home for your loved one, but Larkhill make it an easier and less stressful process by their thoughtful and empathetic approach.

My dad loves each and every staff member at Larkhill, and that is not easy to achieve for him, he reserves special affection for the Manager, who as the Manager is very hands on and fully involved in all aspects of the home, this is not always the case in other homes and she ensures the quality of care is always maintained, well done to all of you.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Larkhill to anyone looking for a top quality residential home. The only thing I would suggest is the carehome.co.uk may want to introduce another standard above Excellent as this doesn't cover how good Larkhill is, in my view they are way above excellent.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.246)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.246) out of 10 for Larkhill Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.664 for Larkhill Hall is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.664
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.582 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Larkhill Hall is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.682
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
