The best home care and staff we have ever met. So polite and can not do enough for patients and visitors. I would recommend to anyone and would use it myself but hope we both do not need it. Special people (staff).

All of the staff at Cavell Court were nothing less than excellent with mom during her time there. Mom was treated with love, kindness and dignity and was made to feel very special. This helped mom settle in during a difficult time in her life. This, in turn, gave us (her family) great comfort that mom was being looked after properly.

My father is staying at Cavell Court for a few months. He was very anxious about living in a care home, having been fully independent in his own home before a recent prolonged hospital stay but, from the day he arrived, the Cavell Court staff have made every effort to help him to settle in. They are always friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make him feel at home. The atmosphere at Cavell Court is very welcoming, with excellent facilities for residents, comfortable, well-equipped en suite rooms, and a rather nice coffee bar/meeting place. We couldn't be happier with the care my father is receiving.

We were extremely anxious about the prospect of Mum in law moving to a care home from the home she loved. The staff at Cavell Court made it much simpler and less stressful than we had anticipated, from the administration to the move of her furniture into the room. We cannot believe the difference. She is knitting again which she hasn't done for years and has joined the book group. She is looking forward to some of the trips out in the next few weeks.

We needed urgent respite for a week and were so lucky to find a room at Cavell Court. It was like staying in a 5-star hotel and staff so helpful and caring. Thank you so much and also took the time to listen to us too!

Great staff, very attentive and aware of my needs. My neighbour is a bit noisy, especially at night, but this is not their fault. They have always done their best for me!

Lovely clean, well looked after premises. Staff very obliging, helpful and informative when asked any questions, about the resident. Always interactive with residents, entertainment, clubs, workshops, to engage residents to mix and make friends, morning and afternoons. Visitors made to feel welcome, tea, coffee, biscuits, and cakes offered. Good selection of meals, offered in the dining room, or in your room. Nice homely feel and atmosphere when you walk in.

Following three days in the hospital undergoing total (left) hip replacement I chose to spend 7 days at Cavell Court on respite as I am a widower holding my own. From the first preoperation visit and from my arrival on 23/2/18 to my discharge on 7/3/18 I was looked after with care, kindness, respect and affection by the care staff, the nurses and auxiliary staff including those not necessarily working on the ground floor. I was impressed by the building my own room and the general "buzz" about the place. The dining room facilities were excellent although my appetite was initially affected by the anaesthetic in hospital.

Lovely atmosphere in the area for those living with dementia - feels 'like home' with residents and visitors free to sit in lounge areas/coffee bar/individual rooms. Staff are always polite and friendly with a caring approach to those they look after. Visitors are always welcome - no set times. Food is excellent in quality and plentiful in quantity.

I can only say my husband's 3 weeks stay at Cavell Court was exemplary - the total care by his team of carers in the nursing unit was excellent. As I was there each day, approx 5-6 hours, I saw how well the unit ran. Cavell Court was extremely welcoming to all the family. The whole complex was absolutely spotless and the facilities were extremely good, although my husband was unable to use them.

The whole experience from the care my dad received to the way us relatives were able to relax in the cafe and many lounge areas was impeccable.
Sadly for us, Dad passed away at the home but there wasn't anything more we could have wished for in terms of care and attention.

Dad left the building the same way he came in - through the front door.

The entire Cavell 'team', both care and administration, have worked both sensitively and professionally in helping my father to settle into his new situation and surroundings. At the same time, they have remained respectful of and flexible towards the feelings of his close family and friends. Supportive all round, I'd say.

This home is first class, more like a top hotel. My friend's room was large, bright and well furnished, including a large TV, and an excellent en-suite which is the norm for all the rooms. There are telephone points in all the rooms which enable residents to have their own landline if they wish which is especially useful.
The dining room is lovely with well-set tables and the menu is excellent.
The lounge has comfy sofas and armchairs. But one of the nicest facilities is the coffee lounge, where residents and visitors can help themselves to a variety of teas and coffees or soft drinks and freshly made cakes. This is a lovely place to meet with friends, family or other residents or just read the newspapers which are supplied.

Finally and most importantly are the friendly, caring staff who go out of their way to make residents happy and well cared for and the nursing assistants are great. I visited several homes, but Cavell Court was by far the best.

Meet the Team (1)

Pedro Campos
Pedro CamposJob Title:Home Manager

I qualified as a Nurse in Portugal in 2010, and my first care job in the UK was for Care UK.

I left after five years to progress my career, but I decided to return because I believe in Care UK’s values and commitment to caring for residents.

Care UK is the best place I have ever worked. The support provided to colleagues is fantastic. Providing care is about being passionate and committed. As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to listen to and support residents, relatives and colleagues in the home on a day-to-day basis. I work hard to make a difference in their lives.

The safety and well-being of the residents living at Cavell Court are of the utmost importance to me, and ensuring all procedures are followed is an important part of my role. My favourite part of the day is walking around the home every morning to talk to each resident and team member.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy time in the garden and do DIY at home.
