Cedrus House in Stowmarket is a purpose-built care home that provides permanent and respite residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for older people. The dedicated team also offers compassionate end of life care.

The stunning Suffolk home has its own café, with patio doors that open out onto the secure, landscaped gardens. There’s also a hair and beauty salon, an activities room and a cinema room, so residents can enjoy a great lifestyle. Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is tastefully decorated and furnished.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Cedrus House you are wonderful. My father was only with you for 3 weeks but you cared for him in such a way that I thought you had known him all his life. The care he received was excellent. The staff were so friendly to him, even when he obviously did not feel good he still managed a cheeky grin for
the ladies. You made him feel at ease and treated him with care and dignity. When his time to leave us was near, you let us know that you were there but you were not intrusive. Your help when he passed away was second to none, caring for him the same way you always had. Care Home is exactly what you are - you care beyond expectations and made not only my father but all is visitors feel at home. Thank you does not seem enough for the time he spent with you.

My mother attends the day centre on a regular basis. As I needed a holiday, she went into respite care for 2 weeks. The staff were all very helpful and as Mother knew quite a few of them it made it easier for her to settle in.
The staff from the day centre took her over so she could see her friends
on the days they were open and I feel this helped her a lot. She was treated with great care and dignity and was quite happy when I collected her.
I will not hesitate to take her again when I need a break from caring.

The care provided by the staff at Cedrus House has been second to none.
My Aunt is being very well looked after.
All the staff are cheerful and friendly and the facilities are first class.
My Aunt has a lovely room with a good view.
The communal areas are lovely and she often uses them and has made
several new friends.
She attends lots of the social events and appreciates the variety of entertainment provided.

Most carers are very good and very kind, however, some appear less caring. Unfortunately, most carers are overworked and have little time for additional niceties which can make a world of difference to the ill and elderly who have little contact with the outside world. Ideally, if funds allowed an almoner
type person would improve things. Food has been inconsistent due to changes in the kitchen and menus can sometimes be confusing or unappealing to elderly pallettes.

My elderly aunt was in need of urgent respite care following a medical crisis. The hospital needed the bed and she was not fit to be left to her own devices. I was amazed by the support from Cedrus House. They bent over backwards to help at every stage. Simply superb!
After three and a half weeks of
care at Cedrus House, auntie is now safely back home. So much stronger and able to manage with carers at home. I cannot praise Cedrus House high enough.

I certainly like living here, most of all because all the people who help me are so kind and patient. I have the impression that, although they are always busy, nothing is too much trouble for them. It is reassuring to have a nurse always on the premises. I find my room and my bed very comfortable.
I like the coffee area, which is attractive and there are people about most of the time.

This was my second respite visit to Cedrus House, the first time was in February. This time, I had broken my arm and my wife wasn't able to care for me at home. I came to Cedrus House and stayed for 4 weeks until I was well enough to go home. I cannot fault anything about the home, the staff are wonderful,
so kind and helpful and the food is excellent. I was sad to say goodbye to everyone. Thank you.

Following periods of delirium, my husband arrived at Cedrus House, Stowmarket. A very confused and tormented gentleman.
Within a day he was soon at ease and had confidence in the way the staff handled his health problem. He was shown patience, tolerance and understanding and by the relationship building
to the staff had good trust and was communicating with them.
Everywhere within the premises were clean and bright to the highest degree. Would recommend Cedrus House to all.

Job Title: Home Manager

I decided to join Care UK as a Registered Nurse in 2014 because it is a growing care provider that upholds its vision and values by keeping residents at the heart of its care.


A good home manager must be a great communicator, an active listener and an amazing supporter. It’s essential to be empathetic and kind in nature to lead a team well. I feel proud when I see the team and residents engaging as one big work family.


Being there to support colleagues, residents and relatives is the most important part of my role. I’m proud to have had several promotions within Care UK. My biggest career highlight to date was my internal promotion to Home Manager.


Outside of work, I have twin toddlers and enjoy walks with them, often taking them to the beach.
