Ivy Court benefits from a quiet residential location, while being close to local transport links and easily accessible from within Norwich and the wider Norfolk area. The home offers a warm family atmosphere, with highly trained staff available to get to know residents individually offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.

There are enticing spaces to relax such as the bistro and quiet lounges dotted around the home. They understand that residents like to continue to look their best, so the home's hair salon is open regularly for beauty treatments and pamper sessions. Communal living is enhanced with kitchenettes in the dining areas, and a range of seating areas offers residents an opportunity to relax. Bedrooms are comfortably furnished and have ensuite bathrooms. Many bedrooms have private access to the home's tranquil and secure landscaped and sensory gardens or private balconies.

They have their own dementia training. This highlights the importance of a stimulating environment and meaningful activities for people who live with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.

My dad has been here a few days and is settling in well. The nurses and carers seem lovely and well trained. He is enjoying the food very much. The rooms are spacious and provide everything you could need, all with en suites and lots of natural light to promote a positive atmosphere. Thank you for all
your support.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.594) out of 10 for Ivy Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.644 for Ivy Court is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.644
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ivy Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

Growing up in Romania and inspired by my mum who worked in the nursing profession, my dream was to become a nurse. After graduating from nursing school in 2013, I took the next steps and applied for my first RGN position in the UK. I then progressed to Clinical Lead and Deputy Home Manager, and finally to Home Manager.

I enjoy all aspects of managing a care home, including making it homely for my residents and offering personal care based on individual needs. It is important to me to support my staff to develop and succeed in their roles. I feel very privileged to be in a role which gives me such fulfilment and enables me to bring my knowledge, experience and skills to my team.

Our residents have a wide range of personal interests and this is reflected in the activities we offer and the personal touches you will find around the home. Our community here is warm and welcoming. I would welcome anyone to come for a tour and I look forward to introducing you to all we have to offer at Ivy Court.
