My grandmother has been a resident of Chamberlain Court for just over six weeks now and we have been so impressed with the care and attention she has received. She has settled in well and is content in her new surroundings. Each time we have visited, we have been impressed with the cleanliness of all areas and the friendliness of the staff.

Reply from Emma Jennings, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Chamberlain Court

Thank you Lindsey for taking the time to review our home. We are so pleased at how well your grandmother has settled with us. She has become a popular resident with others and the team.

A relative of mine moved here about six weeks ago.
To date, I am most impressed with all areas of care provided.

The staff are friendly and the facilities are tailored to the needs of those in care.

My father has dementia and is unsettled, no detriment to the staff or care whatsoever. He will say he doesn't like being there (he wants to be with my Mum) and he doesn't like anyone else who is staying there (though we know he chats to them). However, he always says how much he loves the staff and how good they are. Dementia patients don't lie! Thank you all so much.

Reply from Judy Heathfield-Eliott, General Manager at Hallmark Chamberlain Court

Thank you Karen for taking the time to review Chamberlain Court. Your dad is very much loved by fellow residents and the team, even when he turned the hosepipe on the team the other day whilst he was watering the garden – plenty of fun and laughter was had by all!

My mother moved to Chamberlain Court soon after my father's death. Her move was handled quickly with great sensitivity to her needs. My mother's care has been second to none, I feel confident that her individual needs are met at all times, she is now contented in her new home, where I as her daughter also feel welcomed and supported. Thank you to all involved.

My stay was very enjoyable - staff, facilities, programme all good - staff were exceptionable.

My only criticism would be the food - well cooked but very simple, cheap ingredients.

My mother has now been at Chamberlain Court for nearly 2 years. The care and engagement with Mum, and the communication with me, throughout that time has been superb, even in some pretty dark moments - and despite having been constrained by Covid for more than half the period. Mum is, despite the ups and downs and other distractions of the last 12 months, as comfortable and happy now as at any time in the last 2 years. I cannot thank all of those involved in looking after her enough.

Review from Ann T (Niece of Resident) published on 1 April 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My aunt was not managing alone at home despite three daily visits from carers. She withdrew into herself spending time in her bed or sitting in a chair. Most of the time she was crying saying she did not want this anymore. We contacted Chamberlain Court and after being shown round decided this was the place for her. Within two weeks my aunt was coming out of her room and joining in most of the many activities on offer. My aunt, although having dementia, was back to her old self. Her room is fantastic and kept really clean. The meals are on a par with a five-star hotel. The staff are very caring and helpful. I cannot praise it enough.

The care my mother received through three years in residence at Chamberlain Court was excellent. She was understood by the team and her needs were always met. The staff knew her well and she felt she had friends supporting her when her family couldn't be with her. I received enormous support through my mother's final months and despite the huge responsibly the team carried to protect the home from Covid risks, everything was done to help me be alongside my mother to say goodbye. The compassion and support, professionalism and kindness of the staff was exceptional.

My aunt has been in this care home since December 2017. My cousin and I had the tough decision to put aunty in care as she has vascular dementia. They have looked after aunty with the utmost care and have kept her safe through all this Covid.

They entertained them throughout and still do.

Due to Covid, my mother had to isolate for 10 days when she arrived from hospital. The staff quickly understood her needs and gave much-needed company and support. They are cheerful and helpful without being patronising. Since coming out of isolation, they have successfully encouraged social interaction and my mother is happy and settled in a modern and comfortable environment. I do not hesitate to recommend Chamberlain Court for its excellent staff and facilities.

My mother has been at Chamberlain Court since January 2020. In that time, visiting has been restricted due to Coronavirus. When I have been able to visit, my mum has always been cheerful and well-groomed. I'm always contacted by the care team if there are any problems. I'm just so happy my mum is at Chamberlain Court bring so well looked after in beautiful surroundings. Thank you to everyone at Chamberlain Court.

Perhaps the best way to describe our experience is to summarise by stating that mother liked her room and made it her new home with her clothes, photo albums and music recordings. She cherished the days her beloved hairdresser came to her rescue every Friday. For me and my sister, the care home gave us all the assurance of protection and needed care.

My mother arrived in Chamberlain Court in June 2019. She had dementia. It is a fantastic place with staff who are wonderful. She passed away on 11th December 2020 and through this whole time was well looked after by caring, committed people. They looked after me too as it was a difficult time. The actual care home is lovely but it is the staff who make the place so special. The work they do is amazing, especially through Covid. Thank you.

My dear old mum became a resident in September 2020 during the present pandemic situation after stays in hospital, at the age of 91 after falls at her home. Her care and wellbeing by all staff were second to none, she was treated with utmost respect and politeness and as I understand was very much loved by all the staff and residents. She was very much enjoying life there. I had never seen her so happy, in recent years she loved playing the piano and joining in the activities there, she sadly passed away on Jan 2nd the day after her 92nd birthday. Just a big thank you to all the staff there for looking after her -take a bow, guys.

My mother has been in Chamberlain Court since the week before lockdown began in March 2020, and we have been very impressed with the caring and attentive staff, to the extent that we can tell, since obviously, we have not been able to enter the building since day 1. The entertainment and food laid on appear to be of a high standard. The home has gone out of its way to accommodate visits during these difficult times, and to communicate with relatives. My mother was so pleased when one of the staff helped her to decorate her room for Christmas!

My father is a resident in the nursing section of this care home. He is extremely well looked after by the very kind and caring staff. The staff know him very well and are able to communicate with him despite his profound deafness. They always cater to his needs and wishes and he is treated with kindness, dignity and respect. The staff always contact me if they have any concerns regarding my father, which I really appreciate.

My sister who is 56 moved to Chamberlain Court in May as she could not cope with the lockdown restrictions due to her Alzheimer's condition. Although I could not visit the home, it was clear to me that all of the staff went out of their way to do what was best for her given that she was the youngest resident by many years. Last month she was depressed and worried about her future and after speaking to the General Manager the carers responded quickly by increasing individual support and activities for her. I have no doubt that the staff genuinely care and continue to look for ways to make my sister's life as positive and enjoyable as possible. The review below reflects the fact that I have not yet been able to enter the home other than for controlled visits.
