Hartismere Place

Good company I've made friends. Medication on time is important to me. Good view from my windows.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone seems happy which is always a sign that management is doing a good job.

My husband was originally in another home but transferred to Hartismere Place to be nearer home. Accommodation, facilities and food are excellent in both. Staff are very caring.

I think the activities are excellent and it is lovely to see residents going out in the minibus for trips and lunches out.

The majority of staff are friendly and it is nice to see them speak to the residents, not just attend to their needs.

It was disappointing to see so many unfamiliar carers in 'Oak' this month, dementia residents need familiar faces not lots of changes/temp staff.

My sister and I have been more than pleased with the excellent standard of care and compassion received by my father during his stay and to us when visiting the home. Nothing was ever to much trouble, lots of lovely friendly staff made us all feel like it was home from home for our dad. This was just respite care but dad is very happy to return again when we next need some respite. We all thoroughly recommend Hartismere Place.

My mum receives excellent care at Hartismere Place. She has been a resident there for over two years and I can honestly say that I am very pleased with how she has been looked after. The staff have all been wonderful to mum, from the care staff to the cleaners, the activity ladies and the kitchen staff. The home has a lovely relaxed feeling, it is more like a very nice boutique hotel with a coffee shop, hairdressers, general shop and small dining rooms. The food is very good indeed, my mum is quite picky and she really enjoys her meals.

Management of the home has also improved in the last 8 months, it feels to me that the staff are valued as well as the residents which is as it should be.

All in all, I am very happy with my mum's care - we are very lucky that we can relax in the knowledge that mum is in a safe and happy place.

I love this home and I am well looked after and the people are very good.

Staff and carers are always helpful. The food, in my opinion, is very good. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean.

My Mother has been here for 2 weeks on respite care. I am so impressed with the quality of care, friendliness of staff and the superb facilities. My Mother is very happy here and is now a full-time resident.

I have been delighted with the care my father has received during his stay. The staff are always quick to respond to his needs with kindness, respect and good humour, which is much appreciated.

My 96 year old mother has recently had respite care at Hartismere Place for the second time. She went back willingly and this time was more settled and very positive about the experience, despite having to be on the upper floor and the occasional minor problem. She is willing to go again which is very positive for someone who cherishes her privacy and dislikes communal life. She says that the staff have been kind and helpful.

I am very grateful to all the staff at Hartismere Place for making my husband's stay here so pleasant. It has been an enormous help to us as a family to know that he is being so well looked after by such kind and caring staff.

Staff excellent and helpful, keep active and have my independence and group activities and meet fellow residents along with friends and family, meaning lifestyles, along with group exercise sessions involving stimulations and entertainment, also the cinema and films.

I am especially grateful for the end of life care you selflessly gave her until the end. I am so appreciative of the fact you allowed her to die in her own bed as she would have so wanted. Once again my grateful thanks.

My mother has been living at Hartismere Care Home as part of a rehabilitation program after suffering drug withdrawal (hospital withdrew her Parkinsons drugs in error) and continual urine infections. Her recovery here has been remarkable. She now enjoys life and her day to day care has given her a lease of life she has never had - which is to be cared for rather than her caring for her family. I've never known her so happy and content!

We checked a number of care homes before selecting this unit. It is 2 years old and built over 3 floors, bright and airy with good access to the property and gardens. The care is provided by a combination of attention by trained nurses, carers, visiting GPs and paramedical staff, as well as hairdressers, chiropodist etc and the treatment is of the highest standard. The concept of care is using a 'family' grouping and staff and patients are encouraged to mix together with visitors to provide a superb standard of care which we assessed as unsurpassed in the area. This care home is really worth considering!

Everyone at Hartismere Place went out of their way to make my mother comfortable but also made me feel so welcome when I visited. I could not recommend them highly enough. Thank you.

I find Hartismere Place staff very welcoming, they are so friendly and very good to all the residents, each and every one of them.

The staff are always friendly and helpful and there are always plenty of activities going on. The coffee shop is very bright.
