It's always a delight to visit our sister-in-law as we are always made very welcome and looked after well, as indeed she is. Staff from reception through to service and care are exemplary. The facilities and environment are first-rate and the whole ambience of the care home is a joy to visit.

Visiting our friend today was a thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting experience. A delicious meal with pre-dinner drinks was cheerfully served by people I can only describe as a joy to be with. Friendly, funny and slightly teasing. What a joy. This is by far the nicest residential care home I have ever visited. The atmosphere (the most important factor) was wonderful and the residents looked happy, contented and very chatty. Well done. Please keep it up.

My partner who has Alzheimer's has been in the Cumnor Hill House home since September 2018. He has been treated by all with respect and care. Any little issues have been quickly dealt with to our satisfaction and have been notified with all his ongoing problems. Nothing is too much. A few more carers might be perfect. On the whole, it is a good home and very difficult to beat. Well done to all.

It's a very difficult decision to put a relative in a care home but this transition was made much smoother by the sympathetic and caring staff at CHH. The atmosphere is more akin to a 5-star hotel and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Everyone is very friendly and my mother has settled in well in lovely, well-maintained surroundings. Well done everyone for making CHH such a nice place to be!

I would like to thank everyone for their loving care and professionalism. I know that Dad was so grateful to be in such a great care home. Dad lived at the home for over 2 years and constantly said how lucky he was to have landed in such a lovely place.

Extra special thanks go to the staff, all of whom went out of their way to provide care and comfort to myself and Dad in his final days.

Cumnor Hill House is an exceptional place.

Mum has been living here since March. She has settled in well. It has been a huge relief to us to know that Mum is in such a lovely environment, fed well, has choices of things to do and trips out, and we know she is safe and secure. The staff are very caring and helpful. They are professional and responsible and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work and dedication. It is always difficult having to make decisions about how to best meet the needs of parents when they should no longer be left living on their own, but we feel we have made a very good choice in deciding on Cumnor Hill House.

My nan was a resident at Cumnor Hill, from June 2018-November 2018. This home is amazing, the people that work here are outstanding and the care they provide is also outstanding. We, as a family, were made to feel so welcome, they can’t do enough for the family or the residents, nothing is too much for them. Towards the end of her life my nan was treated with such dignity and respect we can’t thank them enough.

Overall Experience

My husband is on the nursing floor. We are really impressed by the standard of care provided. I especially like that there are enough carers so that when my husband presses the red button someone comes immediately to help him. The carers are all well trained and friendly - some are exceptional. The nurses are terrific - one spent ages of her own time helping me complete some very lengthy Continual Care assessment forms; she really went above and beyond to help me. All the staff are very flexible and try and make things work so that the resident is happy. The setting is beautiful and the food is very good. My husband especially appreciates the well-stocked bar!
