Cumnor Hill House is a purpose-built care home in Cumnor with spacious care facilities in a luxury environment.

The home even has its own gym with specialist equipment designed for the elderly, including a MOTOmed and the Cumnor Hill House team includes a physiotherapist, personal trainer and holistic and wellness lead.

A full-time events manager at Cumnor Hill House organises a wide variety of activities and events for all residents to enjoy, while the home has its own chauffeur-driven vehicle for residents to use on days out and special occasions.

With an all-inclusive pricing policy at Cumnor Hill House, a single weekly fee covers all care, all facilities and all events.

This includes getting hair and nails done, having a massage, having a drink and nibble in the bar and bistro area looking out onto the landscaped gardens, enjoying fine dining with the family and each week’s entertainment.

Very good home for my aunt. Everyone is friendly and knows all the resident's names. Lots of activities to keep everyone occupied.

My mother (aged 90) goes into Cumnor Hill House for respite care whilst we take a break away from home. She thoroughly enjoys it and is greeted as an old friend by the staff. She always is happy and relaxed in their care and I have no hesitation in recommending Cumnor Hill House.

Came here for respite care and was very impressed. Lovely room looking out onto the garden. Staff very friendly and supportive. Food excellent and plenty of it. Free to do as I wanted, no regimentation. Would definitely come here again for respite care.

Both parents were here but Mother died end of January. Both parents were very well cared for and my Father continues to be very well cared for. All the staff are always cheerful and extremely kind and helpful with everything.

After a friend came to Cumnor Hill House for respite care when we were made so welcome. We now come to most of the Thursday evening entertainments (which we really enjoy). We are able to meet with the residents and have got to know some really well.

A very pleasant experience. I was treated really well and was particularly taken with the food and drinks which were free. All the staff were very polite and helpful. The evening entertainment on Thursday 8th March was so good, he was a very good magician entertainer, and his tricks were so popular
with everyone. Food and drinks were of very high quality. The person we visited is obviously being very well looked after. A lovely room she occupies.

I came to Cumnor Hill House from hospital following an operation for bowel cancer.
It was just what I needed before going to my home (I live alone), I can't speak highly enough.
My room, the staff, nursing care, first class, nothing too much trouble.
The food really excellent, (I can only take small
meals at present), a great selection and beautifully cooked by chef.
I am so glad I chose Cumnor Hill House - I think it is unique in all it has to offer.

A lovely experience visiting somebody in this beautiful care home that feels very much like a top hotel.
Always very welcoming and well looked after with drinks, food if wanted.
Also great welcoming entertainment night.
My Aunt was recently 90 and nothing was too much trouble for the manager and
her team, very welcoming to all that visited and they put on a fabulous spread for all, thank you so much. The staff are great.

Walking into Cumnor Hill House, the feeling was calm, friendly, understanding and warm. Our family can't thank the staff enough for their sympathetic and efficient work prior to our mother moving into this wonderful place. I walked into our first meeting expecting to and looking to find fault, but
I still can't. The staff are exceptional. The facilities are exceptional. We've experienced such professionalism, understanding and genuine kindness from the moment we set foot in the house.

My father spent his last four months at Cumnor Hill House. He was very, very happy there. A purpose built, modern, elegant building in beautiful grounds. Everyone that visited him was immediately impressed by their reception, all the qualities of a top rate hotel. However, most importantly all left
with a lasting memory of the friendly, good-natured and very professional staff. When visiting we enjoyed dining with him, especially in the bar/bistro. We had hoped to see rugby in the cinema with him and spend Christmas with him, sadly not to be. However, we have fond memories of all the regular entertainments on Thursdays and much more besides. The highlight of his stay was the 40's garden party where everyone (staff and residents alike) dressed in period costume, Winston Churchill spoke and introduced the Andrews sisters! Fun was had by all! All in all what a marvellous home it was for him.

At the start of 2017, it was decided that my Nan had to move into a care home so that she could have 24/7 care. It was a really tough decision for a family to make. However, in finding Cumnor Hill House the process was made a lot smoother for everyone involved but most importantly my nan. Since then
my nan has made friends and gets to share all her memories with not just the other residents but also it’s staff. They offer a 5-star service from food to entertainment. The residents are kept active through events throughout the week and even have some day trips. The manager and her team really go out their way to make your loved ones loved. If anybody is looking at care homes for their loved ones, you need to think twice before looking elsewhere.

I am a Registered Nurse and have over 30 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. I began working in care homes in 1992 as a staff nurse and have since held various positions. During this time, I gained the Registered Managers Award qualification. I spent five years working as an Area Manager for a provider which ran five care homes in Oxfordshire. In 2006, I commissioned a new 64-bed dementia specialist home, something I achieved while at the same time successfully studying for a Diploma in dementia care.


My wealth of experience within the care industry, and passion for excellence, allow me to create an environment which promotes each individual’s well-being.
