A full-time events manager at Cumnor Hill House organises a wide variety of activities and events for all residents to enjoy, while the home has its own chauffeur-driven vehicle for residents to use on days out and special occasions.

With an all-inclusive pricing policy at Cumnor Hill House, a single weekly fee covers all care, all facilities and all events.

This includes getting hair and nails done, having a massage, having a drink and nibble in the bar and bistro area looking out onto the landscaped gardens, enjoying fine dining with the family and each week’s entertainment.

Cumnor Hill House is an amazing care home. My Nan is looked after by a fantastic team that go out of their way to make her and all the residents to feel comfortable, cared for and happy.
The home is modern and has been built to a very high standard with an extremely comfortable feel and gorgeous decoration
- just like a five-star hotel, with beautiful grounds around it. Always spotlessly clean.
On a Thursday evening, they have entertainment which was for everybody to attend. They do a superb job arranging all the great entertainment, which is enjoyed greatly by all.
All the staff are amazingly kind and helpful. They always make myself, my husband, our children and the whole family extremely welcome- nothing seems too much trouble. They give all care with such compassion. I am very thankful my Nan is surrounded by such wonderful people. The manager and her team do an amazing job and I’m very grateful to them all for taking such great care of my Nan.

We have visited our friends many times. The greeting by the staff on the desk is very good. All the staff seem very willing to help and offer us refreshments if we wish.
Our friends seem settled and if one can no longer manage at home this is the next best thing. The rooms are bright and the furniture
is good. There is a very nice room called 'fine dining" where they can invite friends to meals.

The quality of care and personal attention given to my mum as she recuperated for a month at Cumnor Hill House was exceptional. Really kind, considerate and careful attention to all her needs.

I have no comparison to go by as this was my first experience in a care home.


All I can say is that I have never been surrounded by so much kindness or concern for my well-being. It never wavered and I felt that every one of the staff really cared on an everyday basis.


There were some very sick

people on the floor above and I could see they were looked after with the same care and attention.

Just been to 1940's party despite the rain it was a most wonderful time, a fake Winston Churchill three brilliant girl singers and tap dancers, delicious food and lots of entertainment etc. Thursday evenings are always good the residents enjoy them and like to see and friends and family too. The carers
are all doing a brilliant job and everyone seems happy. This is a beautiful new care home caring for people who at the end time of life are being well looked after with respect. Lovely place to end your days. Well done.

We as a family are very impressed with the very individual loving care that she is receiving at all times of day and night.
All staff have obviously been trained to a very high standard.

First impressions count! Everyone smiles. My 90-year-old friend was collected by senior Cumnor Hill House staff from an unsatisfactory respite care home. As we saw her being wheeled efficiently into the lively reception/bar area we heard the following conversation: "Would you prefer white or red?. Oh,
Rose, I think." Happiness all round potential respite resident is now a permanent enthusiastic resident and much improved in health and spirits. THANK YOU ALL.

I only have good memories of the home. We were all made to feel like a part of the family. My mother was looked after so well, she was very happy and made lots of friends with the residents and staff. I would recommend this home to anyone. Very comfortable, friendly staff and nursing service were very good.
Morning tea and breakfast service rather unreliable and slow. Patients with Dementia seemed to be around on every floor, which was somewhat upsetting for patients seeking rest and recuperation in a calm atmosphere.

We were invited to join a birthday lunch by a friend staying at Cumnor Hill House for 4 weeks. The first thing we noticed was how well and relaxed they looked. He had nothing but praise for the care he was receiving. After a welcome drink at the bar we were taken to the 'Fine Dining' room where we were
served a most delicious 3-course meal. Both the food and the lovely way we were looked after were exceptional. There were children in our party and the chef made them meals to order. During coffee in the adjoining lounge, a homemade birthday cake appeared. Thank you to everyone concerned. Cumnor Hill House is a very special place.

A wonderful caring home where everyone from the cleaners, to the handyman, to the management make you feel welcome, whether as a resident or family member.


Cumnor Hill is clean, spacious and has all the facilities needed for exceptional care of its residents. Also, the food is great.


My mum

stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it, likening it to a 5* hotel. She made friends here both with the residents and staff.


It is so nice to be able to attend social events at Cumnor Hill such as coffee mornings and special events as it keeps mums happy memories of her stay alive so she won't worry when she comes to stay again. She is already booked in for 2 more stays.


I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Cumnor Hill House.

I came to visit my aunty who had been quite poorly. My first impression of the building was very good. The staff at reception were very friendly and accommodating. As soon as I saw my aunt she looked 20 years younger and was beaming with happiness. She told me about the testaments of service she was
receiving and said although she was there for just 2 weeks was deciding whether to stay longer as she was so happy there. The gin and tonic at the bar was an added bonus for me!!

My aunty arrived on 29th July for a two-week stay whilst her son is away. I was extremely pleased to see how happy, comfortable and healthy she is looking after just one day. I returned to visit on Sunday 31st July and she is still very happy. It is a relief to know that she is well looked after, she
is comfortable and is making friends, she was even taken to church on Sunday morning which pleased her no end. Thank you!

I am a Registered Nurse and have over 30 years of experience in the Health and Social Care Sector. I began working in care homes in 1992 as a staff nurse and have since held various positions. During this time, I gained the Registered Managers Award qualification. I spent five years working as an Area Manager for a provider which ran five care homes in Oxfordshire. In 2006, I commissioned a new 64-bed dementia specialist home, something I achieved while at the same time successfully studying for a Diploma in dementia care.


My wealth of experience within the care industry, and passion for excellence, allow me to create an environment which promotes each individual’s well-being.

There is a very good management team here and we work closely alongside each other to ensure that the company values are maintained.


My role ranges from assisting with enquiries, communicating with relatives and the staff team, and ensuring the team is well informed and the home’s administration is effectively maintained whilst supporting all departments.


In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of activities such as lovely walks in the countryside, cooking, gardening, watching sports and spending quality time with my family and friends.

I aim to ensure that our residents continue to feel part of the wider community and are able to enjoy the activities, interests and relationships they held before living in the home, as well as having the opportunity to develop new ones.


I believe that bringing the local community into the home can bring real benefits to our residents, variety, and choice, and thoroughly enjoy working closely with the great team here at Cumnor Hill House.

Neal Russell

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2016

Neal is the Head Chef at Cumnor Hill House and has worked at the home since it opened in 2016.


Neal started his apprenticeship at 15 and has always known that he wanted to be a chef.


Neal works tirelessly to ensure our residents receive home-cooked, nutritionally balanced, delicious meals.

Karen Middleton

Job Title: Head Housekeeper Joined: 2017

I am the Head Housekeeper at Cumnor Hill House and have worked at the home since 2017.


I lead a team of housekeepers and laundry assistants, to ensure the home maintains its high standards of cleanliness.
Having previously worked in finance and banking this was my first role in the care sector. I find this job so rewarding because of the interactions and friendships that I have built with the residents.

My name is Craig, and I am excited to join the team as the homes new Maintenance Manager.
I bring to the role over 20 years of knowledge and experience in maintenance and engineering.
I look forward to working closely with the great team here to ensure that the home runs smoothly and that residents and staff are fully supported and looked after.

Karen is the Events Manager at the home and has 32 years of experience in the Health and Social care sector.


Karen ensures all of our residents are engaged in meaningful and enjoyable activities and really enjoys the magic moments she has with the residents.

I am excited to have joined the team as one of the home receptionists.
