Amazing home friendly and the staff are out of this world can’t do enough to help at every step of the experience. Would highly recommend looking around this home. My mum and stepdad have been happy from the first day and continue to be so taking part in the activities and enjoying the singing and other
entertainment laid on by the home.

My elderly father has been at Leycester for a year now, and I can thoroughly recommend the home. They describe themselves as a hotel with care, and they have lived up to that claim and more. My father was getting confused with his pills and medical appointments, and these were successfully transitioned
to Leycester, who have proven to be extremely reliable, ensuring his complex requirements are carefully and accurately dealt with. This is of great relief to the family, and he is in great spirits and never grows tired of singing everyone's praises. All the staff have been both lovely and extremely professional in all matters. We'll be taking him away for a few days in October, and I know from prior experience that everything will be carefully packed for him, all his medications will be arranged in individual bags carefully labelled, etc. We are so glad we chose Leycester over the other homes we considered.
Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseWe are so glad you chose Leycester House too! Your father adds a very special something to the home, and we very much enjoy his presence. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review; the entire team will appreciate knowing the difference they make to your family. Take care.

We have always been very impressed by the standard of care at Leycester House and the hard work and kindness of the staff. This was especially evident when my mother celebrated her birthday this month. Everyone made it very special for her and we enjoyed an excellent lunch together including the unexpected
arrival of an amazing birthday cake. We took great comfort from the day knowing that my mother is being so well looked after.
Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseThank you so much for the feedback, the team very much appreciate it. Your mother is a pleasure to care for so we are so glad she enjoyed the celebration. Thanks again.

My father-in-law was admitted for respite as he was getting very confused with his Parkinson’s meds and was lonely and had deteriorated from the Covid isolation.
The staff at Leycester House could not do enough to settle him in and make him feel safe and welcome. We feel much happier knowing he is
being looked after and has company now.

My father was discharged to Leycester House from hospital unable to walk and very confused due to his dementia. The moment he arrived I felt his mood and demeanour lifted, it was as though he woke up. Within a day he was standing and there was a smile on his face.

I put this remarkable transformation

to the fabulous staff at Leycester House.

The staff here clearly love their job and it shows.

Dad was treated with dignity and respect. What was intended to become a final stay ended up becoming a rehabilitation, something I understand is quite rare. While Dad still has ongoing challenges, the help of the Leycester House team have allowed him to return home to be with his family.

If we needed help again we would not hesitate for dad to return to Leycester House to receive help from the Leycester house family.

Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseThank you so much for your feedback, which I will enjoy sharing with the team. What a privilege for us to have been involved in this journey, It was remarkably heartwarming to see the change in your father and both sad and joyous in equal measures to wave him goodbye! Please visit us soon.

Leycester House is exceptional in every way. The staff, including administrative, management and those providing direct care and maintenance and subsidiary services to residents and visitors are outstanding and highly professional as well as kind and caring. The standard of nursing care provided and
personal contact with family and friends is exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone there. I cannot recommend the place highly enough, and as a retired hospital consultant with close to forty years spent working in the NHS, I feel I can recognise the quality of service for what it is. My wife was looked after at Leycester House for the last three months of her life and could not possibly have been in a better place.
Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseWhat wonderful words for the team at Leycester house. It is so kind of you to acknowledge the whole team in such a way. Lovely care home with a great friendly feel to it. They take great care of my mum and the nurses under the Lead Nurse's wing are all wonderful. There are special little things that the carers do that make such a difference from bringing their children into holding mum's hand when she has her leg dressed,
and hugs at night. As family members, they are all very caring toward us as well, and we are grateful to all the staff for their kindness.
The food is lovely and the afternoon teas are a real treat which also goes towards making visits a little different. Thank you, everyone!

My father became a resident on the nursing floor at Leycester House in March 2022. Leaving his home after 61 years was not easy for dad but everyone at Leycester House went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition for him. The whole process was dealt with the utmost sensitivity, dignity and respect.

Choosing

Leycester House was not a difficult decision to make as mum has been a resident receiving 5 star care here since January 2020. I cannot speak highly enough about the incredible care and service every single person who works here provides. It is so reassuring to know that both my parents and all the residents are being so well cared for by the most amazing team!

Thank you to each and every one of you!

From our very first contact with the staff at Leycester House, it was clear that this was a dedicated and highly professional team. From the first assessment visit to dad in his own home, good relationships were formed and dad was treated with warmth and respect. His admission was arranged at short
notice because of the urgency of care for him. However, no corners were cut and everyone went the extra mile to ensure his needs were met. The environment and facilities are top class, comfortable and well looked after. All staff were delightful and worked hard to put dad at his ease. The nursing care was excellent. The nursing staff always had time to talk and explain what was happening. They offered so much support both to dad and to me. I could not have faced the final stages of dad's life without their care and encouragement.
Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseI am sincerely grateful for your kind words. It was so lovely to meet you all and be able to support you through such a difficult time. Your compliments have been shared with my team, whom I am very proud of. It was our absolute pleasure to care for your father.

After a prolonged period of hospital treatment, it became clear my mother would need 24-hour nursing care upon discharge. When I began the search for a suitable home nearer to myself, several friends recommended I consider Leycester House based on their own experience. From the very first contact and
without exception, I found a highly professional, caring and compassionate team from the manager down. My many questions were answered openly, honestly and with patience. I was given help, support and reassurance with each stage of the admission process. Since Mum moved in four weeks ago, I have witnessed her improvement due to the excellent care she has received. She is treated with dignity and genuine compassion. The facilities and standard of care are excellent. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I feel included in every aspect of mum's care and that we are working together to ensure this chapter of her life is the best it possibly can be, which is so precious. Thank you!

Leycester house was the very best of all the care homes my sister and I visited when we had to find residential care for our mum. We have never doubted our choice. I can remember being told at the time of admission of the seamless transition from residential care to nursing care etc - something we thought
at the time was a good thing - but now realise it is one of the most important considerations.
Other reviewers have rightly praised the overall care and facilities. For those looking for nursing care for a loved one, Leycester House provides professionalism, love, dignity and respect, and all-around excellence.
Special thanks to those behind the scenes who keep rooms cleaned, clothes laundered, hair coiffed and food fresh, tasty and carefully prepared when eating is difficult. We are indebted and will miss you all.

My beloved aunt became a resident at Leycester House shortly before her 101st birthday and died there recently aged 104. I can't fault the wonderful care which she had there. Living a long way away, we couldn't visit as often as we would have wanted, but I was always more than satisfied that she was
happy and well looked after. The facilities are excellent - the bistro, parties in the private dining room, and fabulous birthday cakes! There's a weekly programme of activities and entertainment, a hairdresser and a beauty salon.
So a huge thank-you to all of the staff at Leycester House for their friendship and love for my aunt, for the cuddles, and for sitting with her at the end. We shall miss them.
Reply from Tracy Barton, General Manager at Leycester HouseThank you so much for the heartwarming review we miss your aunt so much and feel privileged that we got to care for her until the end. My father recently stayed at Leycester House for respite purposes.
After researching a few local Care Homes and careful consideration, we couldn't have been happier with the care dad received during his stay.
The home is a beautiful place with fantastic facilities and activities for residents to participate
in if they so wish - we asked that dad be encouraged to join in - he was and really enjoyed what he took part in.
Each time I met with staff at Leycester House I felt reassured dad was in the best place. The carers not only cared for him but invested time in him - I know they engaged in great conversation and ensured he had an enjoyable stay.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to any family looking for care for a loved one.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.864)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.864) out of 10 for Leycester House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.864 for Leycester House is calculated as follows: ( (205 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 236 Ratings = 4.864
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Leycester House is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
