- Severe memory problems. Not recognising family members and friends. Not being able to recall their own name

- Apathy, depression and anxiety
- Believing things that aren't true (paranoia)
- Frequent hallucinations

The manager and all the staff of Kent House took good care of dad since transferring to them from hospital.
Dad had spent 6 weeks in hospitals and we had had very little contact with him during this time due. As soon as Dad arrived at Kent House, the manager called us to say he was there and reassured us that Mum could visit him and that we could call him anytime and they would answer Dad's phone for him. The manager also told us that he was confused and she had managed to reassure and settle him.
The staff kept him safe and looked after him while he was with them and did their best for Dad over the next 5 weeks by encouraging him to get mobile and sitting in the conservatory and being patient with helping him to get stronger with his eating.
Dad had spent 6 weeks in hospitals and we had had very little contact with him during this time due. As soon as Dad arrived at Kent House, the manager called us to say he was there and reassured us that Mum could visit him and that we could call him anytime and they would answer Dad's phone for him. The manager also told us that he was confused and she had managed to reassure and settle him.

My sister and I were particularly grateful to two members of staff in particular for their support and kindness before Dad left us. Our family are very happy with the care Dad received.

My Nan has been a resident at Kent House for many years. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The home is always clean and has a lovely atmosphere. The friendly staff have kept my Nan happy and well looked after.

Overall Experience
The staff at Kent House made the four months of mum's stay comfortable. They treated her with respect, dignity and love. The staff were friendly and welcoming to mum and us alike. I or my brother phoned every day due to covid and that we lived a distance away we could not visit as we would have. The staff took the time to talk to us no matter how busy they were, reassuring us explaining anything we did not understand with regards to medical issues or they would take the phone to mum so we could speak to her. Mum had dementia, the staff helped keep our contact with her special and gave us special memories. The support they gave mum and us was always caring. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a homely home with staff that care and go above and beyond.

Overall Experience
The staff were excellent in the care of my father and gave him a good quality of life while he was there.
He was kept entertained, at a human level, fed well and enjoyed the company of the staff and other residents.

Overall Experience
The staff at Kent House treated my nan with the utmost respect and dignity through her years at Kent House. The staff are welcoming and friendly and all staff go above and beyond for all of the residents in their care. The home is clean and tidy with a beautiful garden for the residents to enjoy. My nan spent four years in this loving environment and the staff were extremely loving and respectful with not only my nan but also our whole family right until the end, the support they gave us was brilliant and we could not fault them. I would recommend this home to anyone that requires care needs or even a little respite.

Kent House is an amazing setting, they provide the best care possible to all residents. The staff are so friendly and attentive, making you feel at home and at ease. All of the staff at Kent House work hard to provide a high level of care and have been very supportive to my relative, myself and my family which has been a comfort especially at difficult times, management has made sure that personalised care plans are in place and the staff know my relative well. Overall Experience
I visit Kent House 3 hours a week (for the past 18 weeks). Having been employed as a case manager I have always been very impressed with the high standard of care provided by the extremely respectful care staff. My friend of many years appears very well nourished and cared for. Kent House provides a high standard of care.

My father moved into Kent House at the end of February. He took a while to settle but the staff have been amazing. So gentle, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Always free to talk about his needs and care - the staff are always smiling and seem happy to work there.

Wonderful family atmosphere where residents are treated with love, dignity and respect at all times by loving, caring and professional staff. Residents enjoy freedom of choice in how they live their lives in their home, participating in activities, having personal time alone or joining others in the main lounge. Residents are enabled to participate in special celebrations where the house is decorated accordingly, music played and dancing and singing are encouraged. The meals menu is substantial with a variety to suit all tastes and meal sizes, served up in a clean and welcoming dining room. This home has a well-managed team run by a loving manager who is approachable, knowledgeable and professional assisted by an understanding company. This home is a celebration of life for those that live there. Facebook is a testament to their joy of living and the fun they have there. Thanks, Kent House.
