My mother has resided at The Manor House for a month having recently been widowed. I have many years of professional experience working in nursing and residential care homes, and all I can say is that I have been blown away with the whole care experience for my mother and me as a relative. The environment is beautiful, and the care is second to non. Every staff member, be it domestic, care staff, manager, or activity coordinator are fantastic, so friendly and professional.

My mother has received many visitors over the last few weeks including her local vicar, friends from the village, and other family members and relatives, and everyone has commented to me about what a beautiful home The Manor House is. I cannot thank you enough about how comforting it is for me, having just lost my father, and having to put mum into a care home, knowing she is safe in a beautiful home.

Two weeks resbite care for poorly mother in law, who needed rest. A room was found quickly and the team looked after her very well. She didn't use any of the facilities although she was encouraged to. The team were very helpful to the family at all times. We would definitely recommend The Manor.

My mother has been in respite care for the last 10 weeks and has had a lovely time making new friends and having some great experiences.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful, it is a joy to visit!
My mother also loved having her friend over for Christmas lunch, as her friend was also on her own, so this was lovely for both of them.

I can't thank the staff enough for making my mum's stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it has been. Thank you.

My friend / ex-neighbour has been in the care home for around 6 months. There has just been a big makeover and I must say it looks great. I really enjoy visiting as the staff are very welcoming. I sometimes go along when the singers are on as they are always of a high standard. Although I'm sad she is no longer my neighbour, I am pleased she's being looked after well at The Manor. Thank you all.

I can't thank the staff enough at the Manor Knaresborough for looking after my mum initially and then my dad. We were lucky that there was a room available for my mum who has dementia for respite whilst my dad was suddenly taken into hospital with Pneumonia. And then even more lucky that another room was available for my dad to be reunited with my mum for a week of recovery for himself. I know for a fact that they both enjoyed their stay due to the fabulous staff and their kind and professional nature.

I came into the Manor House on Monday February 17th 2025 for 2 weeks respite (after having visited other homes) I was made very welcome from day 1 as I found the people all very friendly and welcoming and making me feel very much at home. I gradually joined the various activities being held in the home or out in the community. Went to the theatre and for a trip on a canal boat. Once they realised I had been teacher they persuaded me to read a book on our Teddy Bears picnic day's. Its 30 years since I retired!! I am now a permanent resident here.

My mum has been a resident for about 6 months currently, due to dementia. The staff helped her settle in very quickly and she much prefers her new home to living with me. She has had some recent health troubles that have resulted in short hospital stays. The support she and the family have been given during these has been outstanding. They monitor her wellbeing closely, step in proactively to avoid or resolve problems, and keep the family updated on any developments.

On a day to day basis, the facilities, entertainment and food are all great. The staff are always very professional, caring and accommodating while also being happy to chat to or assist residents or visitors whenever the need arises. I have yet to find anyone working there who does not appear to have been trained to a very high level, literally all the staff are great to interact with.

Mum made Manor House her home from July 2018. Or should I say, the wonderful staff at MH made it Mum's home from the off. As a family we are indebted to all the staff at MH that have loved and cared for Mum. She was on the Chesters Dementia floor, but it was so noticeable when I took mum out for a walk that most of the staff we saw on the ground floor on the way out would stop and say 'hello'. Lots of activities to keep residents stimulated. Kept clean and well maintained by the team and some very well fed and watered residents. Thank you all for everything you did for mum.

From initial contact to final goodbyes the standard of care and support from The Manor House team could not be improved upon. All staff take time to interact with residents, whether they have direct responsibility for them or not. They took time to understand dad's personality and cherished his cheeky smile. The professional and caring support and the flexibility of staff in the face of changing circumstances have been a huge blessing to myself, my sister and my mum. Thank you.

I have been here for about four weeks, during that time I have always been treated as an independent person. Due to increasing immobility I now need much more personal care, and the staff are always deferential and caring in their attitude. Although it is a big adjustment from being in my own home - I constantly feel at ease knowing there is always someone to call if needed and that has lessened my feelings of apprehension at being alone, especially during the night. I hope I will continue to be happy here.

My mum stayed in The Manor House Knaresborough for 3 weeks whilst my husband and I were on holiday visiting our children. She really enjoyed her stay, she found her room light and airy, she thought the food was very good and enjoyed talking to other residents. She found the staff kind and friendly, ready to help her when needed and to encourage her to take part in the many activities on offer in the large ground floor lounge.

Mum has been at the Manor House since January 2024 on long-term respite care, we are now hoping to make her a permanent resident. Mum was quite anxious to begin with, but quickly settled in due to the wonderful, caring and kind staff. All of the staff, no matter of their role in the home are fantastic. They have made Mum feel so welcome and the atmosphere is always so happy and friendly, they are like our extended family now. Mum tells me they are all wonderful. They all give Mum such excellent care for everything and they give me support too. They are extremely good at keeping me updated on Mum and her care. Mum is enjoying the varied activities and joins in on a lot of them and spends a lot of her time in the lounge with the new friends she has made, for someone who has been shy all her life this is a massive change, which I am over the moon about. I cannot praise all the staff enough and I could not ask for any better. The best choice I ever made was the Manor House.

Since moving to the home, I've found the staff particularly helpful in assisting with the change from living at home. The meals are very good with plenty of variety. There are plenty of activities which are very well organised. I really enjoyed the trip to the railway museum. I have settled far better than I thought I would and credit all the staff for this and their care.
