From first contacting Ferrars Hall I can only say amazing things. Extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. All the staff are kind and helpful and will go the extra mile. My father-in-law settled very quickly, which in my opinion says how professional the home is caring for him and his individual needs.

Mum's health declined quite dramatically last summer and she could no longer manage at home alone. From our first enquiry to our regular visits all staff have been welcoming and helpful. They greet residents and visitors by name. Care is exemplary and accommodation bring and always clean. Mum misses
her former village, but everything has been done to help her settle.
Food is varied and always looks appetising. As Mum does not have dementia she doesn't always find activities stimulating but best efforts are made and the visits that are arranged are always welcome.

Sadly my Father passed away recently, he was one of the longest-term residents at Ferrars Hall. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Ferrars Hall for the kindness and compassion they showed to both my Father and his family.
The standard of care has always been exemplary but it was especially
so in the last two weeks of his life. Every need was taken care of and he was treated with great dignity and respect. The coordination with the local healthcare team was excellent. This is my second review of Ferrars Hall but I feel I must praise them for their care at the end of my Father's life.
Thank you to everyone.

My father-in-law was at Ferrars on two different occasions, the first for respite and the 2nd to be there more permanently.
The stage he was in with dementia made him very anxious, unsettled and unsafe on his own. He was at a very high risk of falls and was unable to care for himself. The facilities
were of a high standard, as were the food, drink and activities. He was not really able to take advantage of this as he was unaware of his needs, nor was he able to vocalise them.
The staff ensured he was always appropriately dressed and clean. He enjoyed the meals at the home. The home and his room were always clean.
When it became more unsafe for him with this level of care, the staff at Ferrars raised this with us so that we could find somewhere able to meet his increasing needs.

We moved my father into Ferrars Hall care home after he lived with us for two and a bit years. We were concerned that he was at risk of falling because he was wandering at night and we were unable to care for him both day and night. He was in Ferrars Hall between mid June and early September 2023. Sadly
he had multiple falls during that time, despite the 24 hour care provided and the last fall put him in hospital for more than two weeks with bleeds on the brain. At this point the care home refused to take him back, yet deducted a whole month of fees for time he was not in the care home which they still haven't reimbursed. We were unable to find any spare beds in other care homes in the region because of two care homes closing down at that time so had to move him to Droitwich near my brother.
The care home is very nice to look at but can be short-staffed at times and we believe this contributed to the inability to monitor my father.

We do appreciate it is difficult when an individual’s care and support needs change, and we always seek support from external Health Care Professionals to ensure a thorough assessment process is followed before any decision is made.
The assessment process ensures all decisions made are in the best interest of the resident to ensure a safe level of care can be met. We would like to reassure you that staffing levels are always monitored and are in-line with the dependency level within the home.
We thank you again for taking the time to leave a review and welcome you to contact the Home Manager directly if you would like to discuss this further.

My father has been at Ferrars Hall Care Home for over 6 years. He has always been treated so well and his care has been faultless. Dad and all the extended family who visit him are treated like family members. All staff are very attentive and I feel so reassured that Dad is having the best care. The
culture of the staff is first class. It is a very comfortable care home, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Dad thoroughly enjoys the food and the staff always tailor specific dishes when required. Without Ferrars Hall Dad would not have made such a good recovery following his stroke. All staff have gone above and beyond, and any health concerns are noted promptly and dealt with straight away by medical teams, which is reassuring for the family. Thank you all so much.

Since my mother-in-law has been in the care home, we have nothing but praise for the attention to detail of care given to her. This is our first experience with any care home, and being apprehensive about having to find a care home for her, this has been nothing more than a positive path for both her
and us as a family.
She is very well cared for in all aspects of her life; she has indicated to us that she is happy living there and gets on very well with the staff and careers. This puts all our concerns at ease and makes it easier for us to have a normal life as well.
Thank you to all careers and all the other staff helping her.

All staff are professional and caring. Giving time and individual care for my mum. The care home is clean and welcoming, a lovely, calm environment to work and live in. I have described Ferrars Hall Care Home as “it’s just like a hotel” with its lovely furniture and upholstery too.
You can phone or
email anytime you need to and have always been kept in the loop by return calls and emails.
I am very happy and have recommended Ferrars Hall to many people.

Well appointed care home but lacks positive leadership. Internal communication lacks continuity. However, first floor seniors buck the trend and are very positive, take control and think ahead. It frustrates me that there is a two tier system of charging. 1. Self-funding which is almost double of that
of 2. Local Authority funding. There should be regulations controlling this.

My mother has been at Ferrars Hall for 6 months and is very happy there. Her room is beautiful and the home is also very clean! Being over 100 years old, her needs are very high but the staff do an incredible job! The ethos is a 'home from home' and it's no exaggeration to say the whole place is like
a big family! The staff are very friendly, caring, kind and efficient. Carers are also very well managed by dedicated head carers. Furthermore, staff training is good; I notice new staff shadow existing staff for quite some time. From receptionists to cleaners, caterers, carers, head carers, laundry and activity assistants and management, standards are very high. Any problems are sorted quickly. We are so grateful that our mother is being so well looked after. As other reviews mention, carers and all staff go beyond the call of duty to do their work! Care homes frequently have a bad name but Ferrars Hall stands as a beacon and manifests a real excellence in care!

My mother has been at Ferrars Hall for nearly two years now and has received great care and support. She feels happy and secure and has made friends and enjoys the activities. The staff are very caring and happy to talk about any concerns you may have. After a spell in hospital my mother returned to
the home and was in quite a confused state which was very worrying, however, staff put us at ease and took our concerns on board and were very reassuring. They are always welcoming whenever we visit and don’t mind us bringing our dog along and he loves all the attention!

Only given three stars as they seem to have been short of staff in the past three or four months. Long waits for staff to come to my mum’s assistance and a reluctance on her behalf to ask for anything non-urgent as “they are so rushed off their feet”. This includes having a shower which she gets just
once a week, she’d like more but feels she can’t ask. The majority of the staff seem nice and caring, one who was awful has recently been dismissed.

My husband stayed in Ferrars Hall for two weeks Respite Care this month.
I was full of misgivings about leaving him. However, from the very start, he was warmly welcomed and made to feel safe and 'at home'. I have also felt supported and understood.
Caring staff. Light, airy, comfortable surroundings.
Good food. Sensitive personal care.

My wife, who has dementia, has been a resident at Ferrars Hall for one year. Residents have well-furnished rooms, with appropriate en-suite facilities. The staff are most professional in all aspects of their work. They provide personalised care in a dignified, patient, caring and compassionate manner
and have handled the extra pressures imposed upon them by the Covid pandemic in an exemplary manner. Health concerns are dealt with immediately and communication between the care home and myself have been of the highest order.

My wife enjoys her regular hairdressing appointments and the trimming and varnishing of her nails. There are some staff members who work diligently behind the scene – (kitchen and laundry workers), and they too deserve special praise. The food is excellent and well -presented and laundry items are clean and freshly pressed. Residents are offered a range of activities by the creative and supportive Wellbeing team. Thank you for taking such care of my loved one.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.706 for Ferrars Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 272 Ratings = 4.706
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ferrars Hall Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months.
