My mum moved into Ferras Hall 2 weeks ago. We were all somewhat apprehensive. However, the transition could not have gone more smoothly. The practical details were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The carers helped my mum settle in by encouraging her to join in with the other residents for the morning and afternoon activities. Shared meal times in the dining room helped her to get to know staff and residents alike. In addition, the 24-hour support available has given my family and I, peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and caring environment.

Ferrars Hall is like a 5-star hotel, from the management team to the cleaners everyone is amazing. Nothing is too much for anyone to do and they are always willing to go the extra mile. Residents are extremely well treated and there are many activities and outings to stimulate and stop any boredom.

From first contacting Ferrars Hall I can only say amazing things. Extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. All the staff are kind and helpful and will go the extra mile. My father-in-law settled very quickly, which in my opinion says how professional the home is caring for him and his individual needs.

Food is varied and always looks appetising. As Mum does not have dementia she doesn't always find activities stimulating but best efforts are made and the visits that are arranged are always welcome.

The standard of care has always been exemplary but it was especially so in the last two weeks of his life. Every need was taken care of and he was treated with great dignity and respect. The coordination with the local healthcare team was excellent. This is my second review of Ferrars Hall but I feel I must praise them for their care at the end of my Father's life.
Thank you to everyone.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Ferrars Hall, your kind words are much appreciated by the staff. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the end-of-life care given to your father. It was a pleasure to know your father and care for him as part of our Ferrars Hall family, he will be very much missed.
The stage he was in with dementia made him very anxious, unsettled and unsafe on his own. He was at a very high risk of falls and was unable to care for himself. The facilities were of a high standard, as were the food, drink and activities. He was not really able to take advantage of this as he was unaware of his needs, nor was he able to vocalise them.
The staff ensured he was always appropriately dressed and clean. He enjoyed the meals at the home. The home and his room were always clean.
When it became more unsafe for him with this level of care, the staff at Ferrars raised this with us so that we could find somewhere able to meet his increasing needs.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Ferrars Hall. We appreciate your kind feedback. It was a pleasure to support your loved one as part of the Ferrars Hall Family, and we wish them well in their new home.
The care home is very nice to look at but can be short-staffed at times and we believe this contributed to the inability to monitor my father.
We do appreciate it is difficult when an individual’s care and support needs change, and we always seek support from external Health Care Professionals to ensure a thorough assessment process is followed before any...
My father has been at Ferrars Hall Care Home for over 6 years. He has always been treated so well and his care has been faultless. Dad and all the extended family who visit him are treated like family members. All staff are very attentive and I feel so reassured that Dad is having the best care. The culture of the staff is first class. It is a very comfortable care home, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Dad thoroughly enjoys the food and the staff always tailor specific dishes when required. Without Ferrars Hall Dad would not have made such a good recovery following his stroke. All staff have gone above and beyond, and any health concerns are noted promptly and dealt with straight away by medical teams, which is reassuring for the family. Thank you all so much.

She is very well cared for in all aspects of her life; she has indicated to us that she is happy living there and gets on very well with the staff and careers. This puts all our concerns at ease and makes it easier for us to have a normal life as well.
Thank you to all careers and all the other staff helping her.

I visit my husband. Carers are keen to help and know more about the patient. They encourage him to become sociable. I was pleased that I could take afternoon tea with him and had my own plate of sandwiches while he ate his afternoon tea.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciated your kind feedback. It is a pleasure to support your husband as part of our Ferrars Hall Family.
Well appointed care home but lacks positive leadership. Internal communication lacks continuity. However, first floor seniors buck the trend and are very positive, take control and think ahead. It frustrates me that there is a two tier system of charging. 1. Self-funding which is almost double of that of 2. Local Authority funding. There should be regulations controlling this.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Ferrars Hall Care Home. Our pricing is in line with local competitors with the Local Authority funding arrangements. We appreciate all feedback and will review your comments with our staff teams.
I have found the staff very professional and welcoming to family members. My mum seems to have settled down well and likes all the staff. She is getting on with everyone and seems very cheerful when we visit her.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your kind words, and we are very happy to hear that you feel Mum has settled in well with us. It is a pleasure to support your loved one as part of our Ferrars Hall Family.
My mother has been at Ferrars Hall for 6 months and is very happy there. Her room is beautiful and the home is also very clean! Being over 100 years old, her needs are very high but the staff do an incredible job! The ethos is a 'home from home' and it's no exaggeration to say the whole place is like a big family! The staff are very friendly, caring, kind and efficient. Carers are also very well managed by dedicated head carers. Furthermore, staff training is good; I notice new staff shadow existing staff for quite some time. From receptionists to cleaners, caterers, carers, head carers, laundry and activity assistants and management, standards are very high. Any problems are sorted quickly. We are so grateful that our mother is being so well looked after. As other reviews mention, carers and all staff go beyond the call of duty to do their work! Care homes frequently have a bad name but Ferrars Hall stands as a beacon and manifests a real excellence in care!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, your kind words and feedback will be passed on to our team. We are so pleased you are happy with the care and support we give to your mother. It is a pleasure to support your mother as part of our Ferrars Hall family!
Some carers go beyond the call of duty to carry out their job effectively.
Any concerns are listened to, and assurance is given that they will be looked into and sorted.
Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for leaving a review for Ferrars Hall Care Home, we appreciate all comments and feedback. I will pass on your comments to the staff team.
Caring, helpful and friendly staff. Residents are encouraged to use the lounge for recreation and dining rather than remaining in their bedrooms. Also very useful to have hairdresser and chiropodist services on site.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Ferrars Hall Care Home, we will pass your comments on to the staff team.
My mother has been at Ferrars Hall for nearly two years now and has received great care and support. She feels happy and secure and has made friends and enjoys the activities. The staff are very caring and happy to talk about any concerns you may have. After a spell in hospital my mother returned to the home and was in quite a confused state which was very worrying, however, staff put us at ease and took our concerns on board and were very reassuring. They are always welcoming whenever we visit and don’t mind us bringing our dog along and he loves all the attention!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Ferrars Hall Care Home, we appreciate all your comments and feedback. It is lovely to hear that your mother enjoys the activities and that you all feel supported by our wonderful team here at Ferrars Hall. Kind regards
My dad has settled into Ferrars Hall very well. The staff are so welcoming when we visit. My dad often tells me that the ladies are angels helping him throughout the day. He has thrived since moving to Ferrars Hall.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review for Ferrars Hall Care Home, we appreciate your very kind words. It is our pleasure to care for your dad as part of our family here at Ferrars Hall.
Only given three stars as they seem to have been short of staff in the past three or four months. Long waits for staff to come to my mum’s assistance and a reluctance on her behalf to ask for anything non-urgent as “they are so rushed off their feet”. This includes having a shower which she gets just once a week, she’d like more but feels she can’t ask. The majority of the staff seem nice and caring, one who was awful has recently been dismissed.
Thank you for leaving a review for Ferrars Hall Care Home, we appreciate all comments and will certainly take your feedback on board. We are sorry to hear that mum feels that she can't ask for help, we are of course here to help and support her at all times. Please pop in and see me when you next visit and I will be more than happy to discuss your and your mother's concerns.
