Our family are very grateful for the excellent care our mum receives at Ridley Manor. She suffers from dementia and is no longer mobile, all the staff are kind, friendly and treat her with dignity, continually looking for ways to encourage and engage her. We really appreciate the regular updates we receive when she is Resident of the Day and also enjoy following her activities on the Relish app.

I really cannot fault anything the staff did to try to make my Dad's stay at Ridley Manor a positive experience. They went out of the way to help him settle and working out the extent to which he wanted to participate in activities. The medical care he received was extremely good. A special shout out goes to Madalina, Sian and to Sunday who brightened up his days.

I have had a most pleasant experience in the Ridley Manor Home. The staff are all exceptional, kind, courteous and with a sense of humour. The food is variable but the service exemplary. I did not like the new mattress and found it difficult to sleep. All in all a delightful care home.

Ridley Manor is exceptional in many ways. The staff are exemplary in their care, meeting nursing needs, their professionalism, their friendliness and their kindness when engaging with their Residents. My Mum has only been a resident for a few weeks but has been shown the best care with high standards of environment and beautiful

en suite bedrooms, beautifully decorated and very high cleaning standards. Mum' s personal dietary needs have been met with such enthusiasm and reassurances by all the staff with a variety of meal options. There are many activities available and a weekly planner is issued. Mum' s recent birthday celebration was a wonderful day with Cakes prepared by the Chef for our family and an afternoon tea which we all enjoyed it was a very special day for my Mum and all the family we can't thank Ridley Manor staff enough for all they are doing for our Mum keeping her well, safe and supporting her to enjoy life again.

I would like to comment on your receptionist at Ridley Manor, Maddi.
She has a brilliant personality, a lovely smile and is very welcoming as soon as anyone walks through the front door.
I've seen her speaking to others with a friendly attitude, aswell as myself too, which can make all the difference to someone visiting a relation or friend who may not be in the best of health.
I've been to care homes in the past where you're lucky to get an acknowledgement when you walk in!!!
Maddi is a real asset to your team of staff.
The staff on the ground and 1st floor are all brilliant at taking care of the residents on a daily basis. Doing so with a smile on their faces, even if that's not how they're necessarily feeling.

Thank you to all at Ridley Manor for your hard work each and every day.

Overall Experience
My mother was in the final stages of her life and I needed to move her from the hospital environment to somewhere more comfortable. Sadly Mum's stay at Ridley Manor was shorter than expected but during that short spell she was well looked after which was such a relief for all the family.
I recently had the opportunity to re visit Ridley Manor as they were hosting a Celebration of Life event. As soon as I walked back through those doors a feeling of welcome and comfort flooded into me, it was an extraordinary feeling of warmth and care. I felt like something had been wrapped around me which allowed my feelings to naturally surface, something I had been struggling with and in so doing I felt an enormous sense of peace.

I knew my Mum had been well cared for in her final days and for that I shall be forever grateful

Overall Experience
From the moment I walked into RM, I felt something special. It wasn't just the beautiful surroundings or warm décor, but a genuine sense of compassion that you notice immediately, even before anyone speaks
Estelle, made a lasting impression. Despite her busy role, she always takes time to listen and make others feel valued. Her warmth, reassurance, and quiet strength reflect a rare and genuine kindness that comes naturally to her
Even in brief interactions, Gabby makes one feel safe and cared for. The patience, tenderness, and respect she shows residents are deeply moving and offer true reassurance that loved ones are in compassionate hands
Throughout the home every space is clean and welcoming, but it's the people who give it life. The connection between staff and residents, the gentle humour, and small acts of kindness are felt everywhere making time standstill

My visit left me grateful for people like Estelle, Haley, and Gaby and thankful places like RM exist for those we care about

My Aunt had a fall at home and was taken to hospital. We knew she couldn't return to her home. We decided on Ridley Manor for the following reasons; The staff including manager, nurses, care workers were friendly, caring with dignity those in a lot of need. The room we were shown was nicely furnished with lovely bed linen. If there are any concerns I can always talk to anyone. It has a nice atmosphere, always something going on as well as quiet areas nicely set out.

I visited 7 care homes before deciding on Ridley Manor and I am delighted with the decision I made.
It provides a warm, welcoming, environment. The staff are amazing. It is very well run and managed. Everyone I have been involved with is highly professional and very caring. Any health concerns relating to my resident were always dealt with promptly and I was kept well-informed. The staff take great interest in getting to know all of their residents and everyone is treated with respect and dignity. The food always looks delicious and there are always several choices. Staff arrange for visiting professionals to carry out regular sight tests and dental checks which is very helpful. There is a full and varied timetable of activities for all residents which is updated every week. The building, furnishings, decoration and gardens are very well managed and well maintained.

Overall, it is an amazing care home run by amazing staff, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

My 91-year-old father moved into Ridley Manor in March 2025. He lost his wife in September 2024 and was struggling to cope on his own.
He was made to feel very welcome from day one and soon settled in and began to make friends. There were plenty of activities going on and he was encouraged to join in with whatever appealed to him. He enjoyed having people around to chat and have a laugh with.
However, just prior to moving into Ridley Manor he was diagnosed with a terminal condition, and his health deteriorated rapidly. So, sadly his time there was cut short. The care that he received during those final weeks and days was excellent. The staff could not do enough for him and looked after him with kindness and compassion.

We will be forever grateful that we chose Ridley Manor to take care of my dad at this difficult time.

My Dad (91) has recently become a resident at Ridley Manor and I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support my Dad has received. From the first day, the staff have created a warm, welcoming, and truly homely environment. The team are attentive and kind, treating residents with the dignity and respect. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. There's a strong emphasis on keeping residents engaged with a wide variety of activities, which has had a noticeably positive effect on my Dad's wellbeing. Most importantly, I have complete peace of mind knowing my Dad is in safe hands. Communication from the home is excellent and they keep us regularly updated. The nursing staff are wonderful at Ridley Manor. Mum has had a lot of infections in the past 12 months. She falls fast and a few hours can make the difference between staying at the home or hospitalisation. For a dementia sufferer with hearing loss, hospital is traumatic and distressing. Their ability to notice minute changes in mum and the speed with which they have got doctors to prescribe antibiotics have stopped mum going to hospital more than she has, and unnecessarily. Their genuine care is much appreciated. The carers are kind, thoughtful and keen to always improve her wellbeing. The home is clean and well appointed with lovely activities. Thank you.

Michael Pallister
Michael PallisterJob Title Home Manager

As Home Manager, the most important part of my role is to make sure residents feel safe.

A big part of what I do is supporting my team. In particular, helping them navigate the healthcare sector, which is always growing and developing. With that in mind, you also need to be well organised and approachable. It helps that I can draw on my 15 years of experience and level five qualification in leadership.

When I first joined Care UK, I did so because its ethos reflected my own values and beliefs. A career highlight for me is the fact I have been able to work my way up through dedication and learning. Now, I feel proud to be part of a strong team that I have also helped grow. For us, it is about celebrating each other’s achievements and seeing how we can do even better.

Every day is different, but my favourite part is being able to spend time with residents and their families. I love finding out about their lives, getting to know them and listening to their wealth of knowledge.

Outside of work, we are an adventurous family and enjoy road trips and holidays. Having a very sporty son also means we spend a lot of time out and about supporting his activities.
