Until the time comes when you have to make the decision to move your loved one into residential care, I don't think anyone can comprehend how much responsibility you feel to get it right & the emotional effect it will have on all the family. With WV they made the process as easy as possible with guidance & support all the way. Mums needs were fully assessed & they were open & reassuring. After a negative experience with another home, we were desperate that everything had to be right so the process was done at our pace which helped us all adapt to the change & made mums move into the home as stress free as possible in the circumstances. Mum has been at WV for a couple of months & has settled so much better than expected. This is full credit to all the staff who are so friendly, caring & continuously demonstrate that their priority is the residents with the care, compassion & fun they show to everyone. It's a friendly, happy environment and immaculate throughout.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We understand how difficult this decision can be, so we're really glad we could support you and make the process feel comfortable and at your own pace. It's wonderful to see how well mum has settled in and we are proud that our team has made a...
Outstanding care was observed for my father and all residents. Good to see a variety of activities. Residents look very happy.
Thank you for your kind review. We are delighted to hear that you observed such outstanding care for your father and the other residents. Our team works very hard to ensure everyone feels happy, supported and engaged, so it is wonderful to know that this was reflected during your visit.

I was recommended to Wellington Vale and arranged a viewing. I was very impressed from the outset. The home was very bright, warm, and welcoming, as were the staff I met. My father's room was very well-appointed and laid out. During my father's brief stay (3 months) we felt that he was cared for very well. All the staff showed compassion and a genuine wish to ensure that he was made comfortable and his needs met. Without mentioning names, there were particular staff who excelled in their duties. My family and I also thought that the Management Team were excellent.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and generous review. We're delighted to hear that your first impressions of Wellington Vale were positive and that both the environment and our team made you feel welcome from the outset.

I have found the staff so friendly and caring that I never feel lonely or isolated. The food is excellent and has improved my appetite as a result.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that our team has helped you feel supported and never lonely - that truly means a lot to us. We're also very pleased that you're enjoying the food and that it has had a positive impact on your appetite. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be shared with our staff.
I came here for 2 weeks convalescence having spent many weeks in hospital. With the quirky atmosphere, very respectful and helpful staff, plus Sam's good menus and cooking, I have improved by leaps and bounds and feel much more prepared for facing life in my bungalow. Basically, I like to be independent as much as possible. I have enjoyed most of the social activities as well.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your time with us supported your recovery and helped you feel more confident about returning to independent living. Your comments about the atmosphere, our staff, and Sam's cooking mean a great deal to us and will...
I would recommend Wellington Vale & would love to come back in the future.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your two weeks at Wellington Vale and that our staff, food, and variety made a positive impression. Your kind words and recommendation mean a great deal to us. It was a pleasure having you with us, and...
The consideration they give to small gestures that make every resident part of the family is lovely to watch and be involved in. But not only the residents but also interacting with the community and becoming part of the community is so wonderful and greatly appreciated. It does not matter what role a staff member has, they are all helpful and caring. I have never seen anything but kindness and warmth across the board.
Your kind words about our staff, their dedication, and the care shown to our...
Mum is leaving here a lot brighter & happier.
We will definitely return...... If there's a space!
Thank you for sharing your experience of Wellington Vale. We have missed mum since she has gone home but we are happy that we supported mum to gain strength and confidence to be able to return home after her hospital stay. Remember to pop in any time for a coffee and to see us in the New Year!
Many, many thanks to you and your colleagues for making my mum's stay so successful. I can't think of the all the ways in which you went above beyond - I thought the welcome card was nice until you brought the flowers! Mum had nothing but praise throughout her stay, with 'that's no trouble' being the normal response to any request. The quality of the meals was big win, too, and she enjoyed meeting other residents.
I think it's fair to say that my mum (who speaks for herself, of course!) is still undecided about leaving her independent living, but I don't think there's any more that you could all have done to make her welcome as Wellington Vale. We will see what the future holds.
Once again, many thanks for making her stay so enjoyable.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know your fabulous mum whilst ensuring she felt safe and respectfully cared for during her respite stay with us. We would always welcome mum back with open arms!
The entertainment is well organised and always wonderful fun.
Keep up the good work WV.
Thank you for this 5* excellent review! It is lovely to see you regularly when you visit your friend and of course enjoying our events too.
I have been very pleased with the level of care provided to my mother at Wellington Vale. The staff are very good at keeping us updated on how mum is doing which is much appreciated .We were so relieved to find somewhere where we felt comfortable leaving mum which suited her needs and which we felt happy with. The admissions process was smooth and the understanding provided to the family at this difficult time was very much appreciated . There are different activities each morning and afternoon to keep the residents busy and entertained. The staff are very caring and professional. The food is excellent as are the facilities . We are very happy with Wellington Vale for my mum.
Thank you for sharing how happy you are with your decision when choosing Wellington Vale as a home for your lovely mum. It is a very difficult time for everyone involved so to know you felt you were supported and understood during the admission process is very important to us. We look forward to your visits especially when you are joined by one of our favourite furry friends!
I'd be happy here!
Thank you for this excellent review! It was lovely to meet you whilst your aunt stayed with us on respite and you are both welcome back for a coffee any time!
Excellent care for my mother in law. Staff are great and really caring, facilities and activities are also excellent. Very focussed on making sure every resident is as comfortable and happy as possible. Also very good at communicating with relatives and keeping them fully informed and involved on any important decisions.
Following a series of stokes and hospitalization my Dad initially came to Wellington Vale on a respite basis as he was unable to live independently. The level of care has been exceptional, the staff have been amazing - incredibly attentive, proactive, interested not only in the health of the residents but also their life and enjoyment. As a result of the exceptional care, my Dad has recovered to a level that has exceeded our most optimistic expectations, allowing him to lead the best life he can. My dad loves Wellington Vale, the activities challenge him mentally and physically, best of all we have piece of mind, if anything happens the staff and resident medical staff have got it. I cannot tell you the relief.
Thank you for this exceptional review! It has been heart warming to see Dad settle so well and regain his strength, confidence and witness his witty character. Dad really loves the fun we create throughout the home during activities and has built up a lovey rapport with the residents and team here....
All the staff I have met are friendly and caring and the support they give also extends to family members too.
Her most recent stay followed a period of hospitalisation during which Mum had become very frail. We had no hesitation in contacting Wellington Vale to ask them to provide respite care to help Mum to mobilise and rebuild her confidence.
Thank you for sharing your experience of our home and team here at Wellington Vale. We all love welcoming your mum back each time she stays for respite and hearing all about your holidays too! Mum is a very special lady who we embrace as part of the Wellington Vale family.
Very good care, mum is happy, therefore so am I. She has settled in well.
Thank you for taking the time to review our wonderful home. Mum really has settled in nicely which is fantastic to see. We strive to ensure the care we give to all of our residents is outstanding and that families are happy that they chose Wellington Vale.
My mother has been living at Wellington Vale for a few months now and has settled in lovely. Everyone is friendly, caring, compassionate and always welcoming to us as family members. We couldn't be happier!
Thank you for sharing your experience of our wonderful home. It is heart warming to see how happy your mother is after a short time living with us. Family feedback is a gift and to know you all feel confident in the whole team here at Wellington Vale means so much to us all!
I cannot fault any aspect of care given to Dad during his stay at Wellington Vale. All staff I encountered were friendly and professional and the environment superb. Many thanks.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the care and compassion we showed your wonderful dad. Our team work hard together to make a difference to each resident so it is really great to receive your excellent review that will help other families in the future.
During the time my very good friend was in Wellington Vale. I can honestly say she couldn't have been cared for better! All the staff went above and beyond, her every need was catered for, emotionally, socially and adjusting to a new life. Everyone has time to talk to not just her, but us too, as friendly- she was never short of a friendly conversation, a smile or even a hug. Well done WV you are fabulous!
Thank you for this outstanding review which will certainly help other friends and families who are looking for care for a loved one. We have an experienced team who go above and beyond to ensure that residents are safe, cared for and happy, and their visitors are always felt welcome. Our door is always open for you to visit for a coffee any time!
My mother has settled well into Wellington Vale and has an amazing new lease of life. She is so much better than she has been for some time. I too am happier, knowing she is safe and well cared for.
Thank you for sharing your experience of our wonderful home! Mum really is thriving living with us and has a more fulfilled life with old and new friends. To hear that you can now relax and are happier knowing our team are supporting mum around the clock is fantastic!

Meet the Team (5)

As the Interim General Manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents.
It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them that my door is always open and they are welcome!

What I Do:
As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!
My Experience:
I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.
About Me:
I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy, along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie, called Sox, completes our crazy but happy family life!

As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year, which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.
My Experience:I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.
About Me:I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

As Recruitment Administrator in our home, I oversee the recruitment journey—from carefully reviewing CVs and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth onboarding and induction. I also maintain both physical and digital staff records, ensuring everything is current and compliant.
My ExperienceWith a rich administrative background spanning packaging, marketing, and healthcare, I’ve held roles from personnel administrator to PA in a design and marketing agency and account executive for pharmaceutical clients. This diverse experience has honed my organisational expertise and attention to detail.
About MeI find joy in a balanced, simple life—cherishing time with family, sharing meals and laughter with friends. These days, you’ll often find me on a walk or at an exercise class, and I always make sure there’s a holiday or two on the horizon.

My role as Wellington Vale’s administrator is to support the home with finance management, which includes payroll, supplier accounts, budgets and working closely with resident families regarding their monthly accounts. I also support James, our home manager and the reception team daily.
My ExperienceI have been part of the team at Wellington Vale for six years, starting my journey as a carer, then senior carer, before supporting our deputy managers as the care co-ordinator. I am now enjoying my new role as the home administrator.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, which definitely brings out my competitive side. I also love shopping and finding a good bargain—even if I don’t really need it!
