I am so very happy with the respite.
Everyone at Wellington Vale was so happy that you stayed with us - we enjoyed your company as much as you enjoyed ours! See you again soon!
I didn't want to come after a hospital stay but I am glad I did.
We too are glad you came to stay after your hospital visit, it was a pleasure meeting and taking care of you! It was lovely to hear you will consider another respite stay when your family goes away on holiday as we would love to see you again! Thank you for this wonderful review!
Lovely staff. My aunty is so happy there. It’s nice to see her smile and having fun with the staff. It’s so nice to sit with her and to be given tea. It was the best decision for her to be in this home.
Thank you for your excellent review! Your aunty is really having a great time with her new friends and enjoying the activities! Look forward to seeing you again soon - the tea will be ready and waiting!
We searched around for respite care for my father-in-law whilst his wife was in hospital. We were recommended Wellington Vale by a friend. We went and had a look round and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel part of the home. It felt like family, every member of staff we passed during the tour said hello and were smiling. The father-in-law was welcomed in and he loved it. He was the centre of attention and treated like a full-time resident. Sadly whilst there the mother-in-law passed away. The compassion shown to my wife who was visiting at the time of the news was exemplary. They helped us when we had to tell the father-in-law the sad news his wife had died, they went above and beyond. Since then he has thrived, every member of staff knocks on his door asking if he wants anything. The food is restaurant quality and plenty of it. The rooms are very good. Activities are also good and varied each day. The staff including all management are wonderful caring people.
Thank you for this wonderful review! We are really proud of our team here at Wellington Vale. As you say, not only have they supported your father in-law at such a difficult time in his life, but also shown your wife and family the same empathy and care. Your father in-law is a special man!
The care home is well run and cared for by all the staff. There is always communication regarding medical issues with our resident.
Thank you for this fantastic review!! It means a lot to know our resident families are happy with the care and overall service we provide for their loved ones.
We felt so supported and confident that Mum would be cared for as we would care for her ourselves. After a stay in hospital, the excellent level of care and information shared at Wellington Vale made us quite emotional and so relieved after a worrying and difficult time spent in hospital.
Thank you for this wonderful review! We aim to support everyone in the family and to know that is how you all felt is amazing! I will share this with all of the team - thank you!
They are nothing more than completely professional with their approach towards my aunt and myself.
Big thanks to all the team.
Thank you for this fantastic review! You are right, your aunt is living her best life now she has daily activities and new friends - it is wonderful to see and we love taking care of her!
My mother was given a very warm welcome on arrival at the home. During her two-week stay, she enjoyed the excellent choice of meals, the company of other residents and the friendly care given by all the staff. The group activities were a success and provided the opportunity for social interactions with the other residents which were of great benefit to my mother.
Thank you for this fantastic review. We really enjoyed getting to know Mum and it was great that Mum got to meet some new friends here at Wellington Vale. We look forward to seeing mum again soon!
Truly excellent care from the whole team. A very warm welcome on arrival and everyone worked hard to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. All the activities were well planned and the team worked hard to keep everyone entertained. The food was delicious and my stay did exactly what I wanted. To leave after two weeks was much stronger than when I arrived. Thank you all very much.
A great review, we really appreciate it! We absolutely loved meeting you and taking care of you for the few weeks you were with us all! Thank you for helping us with our Christmas Panto too!
An excellent care home with great and caring staff. Mum was in for two weeks of respite and left feeling a much happier person. The activities laid on were thoroughly enjoyed and the food was excellent. Mum will definitely be returning for another 5-star break.
Thank you for this 5-star review! It was lovely getting to know mum whilst she stayed with us and we can't wait to welcome mum back again!
I have been so impressed by the staff and care at Wellington Vale. From the outset, meeting the Home Admission Advisor to discuss my uncle’s needs and to see if Wellington Vale was the right place for him, it has been clear that the staff are professional, caring, and trustworthy. These are important when you are looking for somewhere for your loved one. The staff have gone over and above what I expected and nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are excellent and there is a very nice atmosphere every time I visit.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Wellington Vale. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit and remember if you would like to stay for lunch after your long journey you are welcome!
From our initial contact with Wellington Vale Care Home to Mum spending some respite time with them, we have been very happy with the experience. Everyone is professional, kind, and caring and Mum enjoyed meeting new friends and joining the various activities.
Thank you for this fantastic review! It was lovely having Mum stay with us again and we can't wait for next time!
The high quality experience started before my parent's admission. After making an initial inquiry we were contacted back promptly and the admission team (admin and medical) was extremely professional and empathetic. The need was very short notice but they pulled out all the stops to get them in as quickly as possible whilst ensuring the care packages were set up for their needs ahead of arrival.
The family were made to feel welcome and included. There were nice touches, such as setting up a 'private' dining area for them, demonstrating how they treated their residents as individuals.
Wellington Vale had a wonderful feel; everything looked fresh and clean, the corridors were wide giving a spacious feel and the common areas were beautifully appointed. The gardens were beautiful too.
Their greatest asset was the staff, friendly, professional and committed. An unexpected bonus is that the support continued even after they left.
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are really looking forward to seeing dad again tomorrow at our Macmillan coffee event tomorrow!! We will be queuing up to give him a big hug!
Ever since my nan became a resident at Wellington Vale we’ve been so happy with the way all the staff from the cleaners to the management treat and look after every resident. They’re all so loving and caring and there’s never doubt in my mind my nan is not taken care of and enjoying living there.
Thank you for this review, we love taking care of your nan day to day here at Wellington Vale!
Every single member of staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive to not only my grandmother but us as visitors as well. The wide array of good quality activities, and resident lounges available to my grandmother both indoors and outdoors really made her respite enjoyable. The singing performers and “keep fit” style activities were firm favourites.
All areas of the home were always absolutely spotless and my grandmother’s room was bright, airy and very comfortable with large windows to watch the world go by.
Meal times looked and sounded like a treat with beautiful dining rooms and quality food and service.
Thank you to all at Wellington Vale, you have a care home to be proud of!
Thank you for taking the time to write this fantastic review! We are really proud of our home and the team that support all of our residents. I will send your grandmother an invitation to our respite reunion tea party that is taking place at the end of the month and really hope to welcome her back then!
My mum was in Wellington Vale on a respite period from April until July. When she went into Wellington Vale, she was pretty poorly and underweight. The care she received from the staff was remarkable. Absolutely outstanding. She gained 7kg in weight thanks to the professional approach and dedication of the staff. The care home is spotless and well-maintained. The staff are amazing and always friendly and polite. My mum loved all the activities on a daily basis especially the keep fit. She made some great friends and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. Her health improved 100%. She was sad to leave. I would fully recommend Wellington Vale to anyone looking to place their loved ones in a home. I am so grateful to Wellington Vale.
Aww, we miss your mum, especially in our exercise classes - she loved them! Thank you for this review, come back anytime to visit for a coffee with Mum, we would all love to see you both!
I am her sole carer and it was necessary to have respite care until I was capable of caring for her again.
There has been quite a bit of negative reporting of some care homes so I took some time to select what I thought would be the best for us.
I chose Wellington Vale, Waterlooville, in Hampshire and I needn’t have worried.
The staff were excellent, couldn’t be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation was spacious and the food was good. There was a full programme of activities for those who wanted to participate and beautiful gardens to wander around.
I am very grateful to all the staff who instilled a level of enjoyment and even on occasions fun, which I really hadn’t expected.
Having returned home now I shall miss them.
I highly recommend Wellington Vale.
Thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure to be able to support you both at a time when you needed it and meet your family too. We are always here should you need any help in the future!
When we found Wellington Vale Care Home for my brother and had a look around, we were blown away with how lovely everyone was. The home itself is very impressive, it feels more like a hotel than a care home. We knew straight away this would be the right place for all my brother's needs. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff. From top nurses all the way through to the Chef. The attention and care he had there went far beyond what we expected. We knew everyone and for the brief time he was there they became part of our family, even now we keep in touch, feeling comforted just to know they are there. For us, Wellington Vale was a beacon, a light in the darkness. We love you all, thank you from the bottom of our hearts and treasure the memories of the time spent there, precious memories that you all helped make dignified and done with such love and care. Thank you
All of our team feel privileged to have been able to support your family at such a difficult time. We all have very fond memories of your courageous brother and will always be here for you all.
My mother has a diagnosis of dementia and moving her to a care home and leaving her home was a big step. We received excellent support to help with this transition into her new living environment. Mum has settled well and receives excellent support to meet all her needs. Staff are friendly and efficient. We have also been pleased with the access Mum has had to a GP when needed. Communication with us has been good from care staff. With support from the Zing team, Mum has greatly enjoyed accessing some of the activities on offer. Mum likes her room and she enjoys to walk in the well-kept gardens. I have also been impressed with the cheerful welcome you always get from reception staff on arrival at the home.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home, it is lovely to hear how happy you are with your choice of care for mum.
The food, I must say, looks amazing, and the menu has a great variety of choices.
It is great to hear you feel Wellington Vale is a home from home for Mum - this is really important to us! Mum really loves joining in all the fun, which is lovely for us to see!

Meet the Team (5)

As the Interim General Manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents.
It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them that my door is always open and they are welcome!

What I Do:
As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!
My Experience:
I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.
About Me:
I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy, along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie, called Sox, completes our crazy but happy family life!

As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year, which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.
My Experience:I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.
About Me:I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

As Recruitment Administrator in our home, I oversee the recruitment journey—from carefully reviewing CVs and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth onboarding and induction. I also maintain both physical and digital staff records, ensuring everything is current and compliant.
My ExperienceWith a rich administrative background spanning packaging, marketing, and healthcare, I’ve held roles from personnel administrator to PA in a design and marketing agency and account executive for pharmaceutical clients. This diverse experience has honed my organisational expertise and attention to detail.
About MeI find joy in a balanced, simple life—cherishing time with family, sharing meals and laughter with friends. These days, you’ll often find me on a walk or at an exercise class, and I always make sure there’s a holiday or two on the horizon.

My role as Wellington Vale’s administrator is to support the home with finance management, which includes payroll, supplier accounts, budgets and working closely with resident families regarding their monthly accounts. I also support James, our home manager and the reception team daily.
My ExperienceI have been part of the team at Wellington Vale for six years, starting my journey as a carer, then senior carer, before supporting our deputy managers as the care co-ordinator. I am now enjoying my new role as the home administrator.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, which definitely brings out my competitive side. I also love shopping and finding a good bargain—even if I don’t really need it!
