I found the staff very friendly and helpful. We were very happy to leave Dad in their care while we were away.
Thank you for this great review! It is really important to us that family members are happy and confident in the care we offer to their loved ones. Dad was a great character and we loved getting to know him!
I know he is looking to go back as soon as he can.
Thank you for this wonderful review. You father in-law is always welcome back any time. He is such a fabulous character, we didn't want to see him go. We hope to see you all again very soon!
My dad stayed at Wellington Vale Care Home for a month for respite care after a fall. The manager and the team looked after Dad, warmly, with kindness and compassion. Over the weeks my dad became his old self, sociable and joined in with most of the activities. Became chatty again and learned to look toward the future again. He enjoyed, the comfort of his own room, a comfortable bed and the wide choice of meals. Meeting new people and having visitors in a lovely care home setting, often showing his visitors around with pride; saying it was a lovely care home with wonderful staff. He loved joining in with the activities, especially the drum and yoga exercises and the singing. Wellington Vale Care Home is a special place, with warm, kind, friendly staff and feels an extension of your own home. The staff made everything easy and were friendly and accommodating. We as a family would highly recommend Wellington Vale Care Home to others - it was exceptional.

My experience has been very good. The welcome I received on arrival was amazing and quite moving. I enjoy the activities and it is great the way there is scope to be proactive. The staff are first-class, as are the management. My room is nice although I'm a bit jealous of some of the views on the other side of the building.
Thank you for your excellent review! It is so rewarding for us to see you in activities and enjoying a richer social life at Wellington Vale. Also, thank you for getting the Chess Club going, it is wonderful!
We visited a couple of different care homes for my father and Wellington Vale stood out from the very beginning. When we entered the home we were warmly greeted by staff there was a lovely homely feel and a buzz around the home. Staff were smiling and laughing with the residents. We then returned with my father he was greeted with great care. The members of staff remembered everything we had told them about him. He was staying for respite whilst my mum was in hospital, unfortunately soon after she passed away. I was informed whilst I was just about to visit my father. The care I personally received from the staff was nothing but brilliant and staff supported us in telling my father. Staff are constantly checking on him and I truly believe they go above and beyond to ensure he is looked after. I would highly recommend Wellington Vale. He is constantly telling us he is happy and the food is amazing 5 star. He also talks about the bed being really comfortable and that he sleeps really well.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of how we personally take care of our residents and their families. It was such a difficult time for all of you, and we feel very proud that we were able to support you all! We love having dad live with us here and seeing you guys on visits of course!!

Meet the Team (5)

As the Interim General Manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents.
It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them that my door is always open and they are welcome!

What I Do:
As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!
My Experience:
I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.
About Me:
I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy, along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie, called Sox, completes our crazy but happy family life!

As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year, which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.
My Experience:I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.
About Me:I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

As Recruitment Administrator in our home, I oversee the recruitment journey—from carefully reviewing CVs and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth onboarding and induction. I also maintain both physical and digital staff records, ensuring everything is current and compliant.
My ExperienceWith a rich administrative background spanning packaging, marketing, and healthcare, I’ve held roles from personnel administrator to PA in a design and marketing agency and account executive for pharmaceutical clients. This diverse experience has honed my organisational expertise and attention to detail.
About MeI find joy in a balanced, simple life—cherishing time with family, sharing meals and laughter with friends. These days, you’ll often find me on a walk or at an exercise class, and I always make sure there’s a holiday or two on the horizon.

My role as Wellington Vale’s administrator is to support the home with finance management, which includes payroll, supplier accounts, budgets and working closely with resident families regarding their monthly accounts. I also support James, our home manager and the reception team daily.
My ExperienceI have been part of the team at Wellington Vale for six years, starting my journey as a carer, then senior carer, before supporting our deputy managers as the care co-ordinator. I am now enjoying my new role as the home administrator.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, which definitely brings out my competitive side. I also love shopping and finding a good bargain—even if I don’t really need it!
