Mum has been moved into Wellington Vale following discharge from the hospital after a difficult few months with various illnesses. She has been made to feel very welcome and all the staff we have dealt with have been friendly, professional and helpful. They have already arranged for a hairdresser visit to get Mum ready for an 'away day' to a family wedding and worked with us to organise that visit. Overall very impressed with Wellington Vale so far and Mum is very happy and comfortable there.
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review! Mum looked absolutely beautiful for the family wedding she attended and was so excited telling us all about it the next day! It makes us very happy to hear you are impressed with Wellington Vale, thank you!
I could not be happier with the care that my mum receives at Wellington Vale. A noticeable difference and improvement in her physical appearance. Great activities and her room is so lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for this review - it is really great to see Mum enjoying the daily activities and social life! (Not to mention the salon services - Mum looked stunning when she floated on cloud 9 out of the salon last week!)
The care my father has received at Wellington Vale has been exceptional. He went in during the pandemic and we have been both felt that he has been in a very safe environment. The staff are wonderful and so caring. Dad loves his room, the food and all the enrichment programmes, which are so varied and entertaining. In all, Dad is happy, I haven't seen him smile and laugh so much in years.
I always hear Dad laughing whilst having his morning coffee with our other residents - his laugh is infectious! For you to see Dad happy must mean the world to you, as it does to us! It is a pleasure taking care of Dad!
I have enjoyed my stay at Wellington Vale Care Home and would highly recommend the facility to anyone.
Thank you for this excellent review! It is always a pleasure to hear that our respite residents have enjoyed their stay as much as we have enjoyed looking after them!! We look forward to your next visit!
Word of mouth is so important when looking for family care. Wellington Vale Care Home was highly recommended to me and from the first visit to Mum's move-in day, to her new room and happy life. I wouldn't hesitate to pass that recommendation on. I have every confidence in her care and new life.
We pride ourselves on making every resident feel at home by supporting them to live a fulfilled and happy life whilst surrounded by a caring and fun team. To know family and loved ones have the confidence in our Wellington Vale team is what we strive for!
This really is a luxury experience for the elderly, like a 5-star hotel. A breath of fresh air. Friendly and caring staff. I will definitely recommend Wellington Vale Care home to people in the future.
Recommendations mean so much to us and being described as a 'breath of fresh air' is truly fantastic!
I have been very happy staying here.
Thank you for this excellent review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your respite stay with us and can't wait to welcome you back again!
The care and attention to detail for both the resident and the family are second to none. All staff are proactive for any concerns raised and will go the extra mile. The home is a second home for the residents and is like a five-star hotel, all-inclusive with trips and activities centred around well being, mentally and physically, of the residents. My mum came on respite and I wouldn't think twice to let her come again. Well done and keep up the good work.
Wow! That is such a wonderful review and great to hear - thank you! I will share this with all of our fabulous team at Wellington Vale, we are all missing Mum in the home!
I have really enjoyed my stay, and I would come again.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We really enjoyed you staying with us and can't wait for you to return!
Wellington Vale Care Home is outstanding. All the staff are so kind and caring. The food is excellent. It's totally relieved my worries, having my nan here.
It is wonderful to hear that you feel you no longer need to worry about Nan now that she is living at Wellington Vale.
I find the staff, from top to bottom, so good. Nan is treated with dignity and respect, etc. She does not join in the activities but that is her choice and they always ask. I would and have recommended Nan's home to friends and family.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review, it is always a delight to hear that family members are happy with the care their loved ones are receiving!
I'm very happy with the way my husband is looked after.
Thank you for this wonderful review! It is a pleasure looking after your husband and it is really lovely to see you too when you visit!
Very caring staff, they look after my dad and treat him with dignity and respect. A lovely well kept home.
Thank you for this review, it is really lovely to hear the positive feedback! Respect and dignity for every resident are paramount at Wellington Vale so we are really happy that you feel this way.
Have nothing but good things to say. My partner has settled in very well and is happy and well cared for which puts my mind at rest.
It is really important to us that families have peace of mind whilst we are caring for their loved ones so thank you for letting us know that's how you feel!
The care and help my mother-in-law has received at Wellington Vale has been excellent. From the initial enquiry about a room, to her arriving at Wellington Vale, the staff have been very friendly and helpful. They have provided us with regular updates as to how she is and the progress she is making. My mother-in-law is very happy there and well looked after, which is what we wanted.
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. Your mother-in-law has made great progress staying with us on respite and has enjoyed so many activities too - she has even been in the kitchen helping the chefs.
My Mum came to Wellington Vale after being in hospital for several months, following two falls. The care she has received, from day one, has been brilliant. The staff have been so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The staff have been excellent in keeping me informed about how my mum is settling in and her progress, which has been fantastic, due to their care and help in building up her confidence.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It has been great watching Mum get stronger day by day. She has really enjoyed the social aspect too, which is fantastic.
Wellington Vale is a purpose-built modern 3 storey building that is more like a four-star hotel than a Care Home. My experience, to date, is that all members of staff are most obliging, friendly and helpful and some go above and beyond what is required of them. The individual rooms are large with en-suite wet rooms and all comforts that one would choose for themselves. The catering side is excellent, with choices. They also have activities every day for those that wish to participate and staff encourage the residents, as much as possible, to be active in both, body and mind. My own mother is one that is rather reluctant but they have never given up trying, for her own benefit. When she first joined the home, she had a very old fashioned view of homes and was, in her own way, scared of what she may find. I’m so delighted and relieved to say she cannot praise them enough and is so happy and well cared for there. This makes my life easier, knowing I don’t have to worry about her.
Thank you for this review. It is so lovely for all of the team here at Wellington Vale to see how Mum has now settled in. I can imagine how comforting that is for you too.
My mum has been at Wellington Vale for four months. She is very well looked after and seems very happy there. I swore I would never put Mum in a home but it really is the best thing for her, everyone is so friendly and made me feel very relaxed about the transition. Everything was done for me and the Home Admissions Advisor did all the work for me. They always FaceTime me on time and it’s so lovely to see Mum so well cared for. I’m kept up to date with Mum's medical needs. I just can’t wait until things go back to normal and we can resume visits. Judging by the videos, all the residents look as if they have a whale of a time and it seems to be a very happy place.
Thank you for taking the time to write this really wonderful review. You are right, our residents really do have a whale of a time on a day to day basis and there is nothing better than hearing that you, as family, see that. I remember supporting you when Mum moved in, it is a difficult time for...
I have found everyone taking care of my Dad, to be delightful and they seem very caring and kind. What I have seen of the care home is very clean, fresh and modern.
As the daughter of one of the residents currently at Wellington Vale, I have to say I am extremely impressed with the care. Staff always go above and beyond for my mother, even answering her phone for her when she is not able to reach it herself, due to her poor sight. The home always smells fresh and I never have any concerns over the safety of my mother. Whenever I have visited my mother, all the residents have always looked very well presented and well cared for. I was most impressed with the way a certain issue with my mother's GP was handled, quickly and efficiently by the care team. It was such a relief. The care team always keeps me informed about my mother's health conditions, any issues and decisions are discussed with me and my mother, with honesty and empathy. Staff's work can be stressful, however, I am always bowled over by their cheerful and upbeat disposition. On my visits to my mother, staff welcome me as a member of their family, a cup of tea always there for me.
Thank you for taking the time to express how happy you are with the care and the team here at Wellington Vale. We can't wait to be able to offer a nice cup of tea again soon.

Meet the Team (5)

As the Interim General Manager, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents.
It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them that my door is always open and they are welcome!

What I Do:
As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!
My Experience:
I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.
About Me:
I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy, along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie, called Sox, completes our crazy but happy family life!

As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year, which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.
My Experience:I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.
About Me:I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

As Recruitment Administrator in our home, I oversee the recruitment journey—from carefully reviewing CVs and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth onboarding and induction. I also maintain both physical and digital staff records, ensuring everything is current and compliant.
My ExperienceWith a rich administrative background spanning packaging, marketing, and healthcare, I’ve held roles from personnel administrator to PA in a design and marketing agency and account executive for pharmaceutical clients. This diverse experience has honed my organisational expertise and attention to detail.
About MeI find joy in a balanced, simple life—cherishing time with family, sharing meals and laughter with friends. These days, you’ll often find me on a walk or at an exercise class, and I always make sure there’s a holiday or two on the horizon.

My role as Wellington Vale’s administrator is to support the home with finance management, which includes payroll, supplier accounts, budgets and working closely with resident families regarding their monthly accounts. I also support James, our home manager and the reception team daily.
My ExperienceI have been part of the team at Wellington Vale for six years, starting my journey as a carer, then senior carer, before supporting our deputy managers as the care co-ordinator. I am now enjoying my new role as the home administrator.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy playing darts, which definitely brings out my competitive side. I also love shopping and finding a good bargain—even if I don’t really need it!
