Cedar Mews Care Home

There has never been any other choice of Care Home for my husband. Recommended by a paramedic, the level of care it provides is second to none. However, this has been an extremely trying month for everyone - residents, families and carers alike, simply because of the extreme temperatures we have all suffered. I have been amazed at the tireless dedication of the staff. The carers have been watchful that their vulnerable residents have remained healthy, cared for, well fed and hydrated throughout. Naturally it has been difficult to provide any outside activities, but whenever possible walks, short trips were provided. I think that everyone is now pleased with the new renovations and that the building work is complete.

Cedar Mews has been looking after our friend for a few months now. We are very happy with their professional service. Their whole team are very friend and go above and beyond for everyone. I would highly recommend this Care home.

All round a great choice.

When we arrived at Cedar Mews residents were sitting in the reception area chatting and generally having a good time. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Staff were helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We had lunch when we collected my brother in law. It was delicious and nice to have a choice. The coffee served was really good.

My elderly mum moved to the dementia floor at Cedar Mews from another care home at the beginning of May. Unfortunately, she had a serious fall on her first night in their care and was admitted to A&E. When she was discharged, Cedar Mews staff assured us they could provide the care she needed but although many of the carers were extremely hardworking and dedicated, there were many times during my visits when I struggled to find any carers to respond to her needs, or any senior staff to discuss my concerns with. I had to initiate communication regarding her medical needs with the GP myself as I received no feedback from staff unless I specifically asked for it. Although I raised my concerns with the manager it took weeks to get a response and I was disappointed that I was not given the chance to discuss the issues with her at the time. As a result of my experiences, I decided to move my mum after 3 weeks at Cedar mews to a new nursing home to make sure she received safe and adequate care

My mum initially came in for respite when we needed to move her from her home , it was the only home who was willing to help us urgently . The customer relations manager did everything she could to make sure my mum could be moved that day into Cedar, and she was. The home is beautiful , definitely more the posh hotel feel. You're welcomed by a mass of professional and friendly staff every day and these are the same faces , this was really important to us with my mum having Alzheimer's we wanted her to see the same staff and she does . There is nothing this home won't do , they've accommodated my Dad visiting ,who also has Alzheimer's which has been beyond beneficial for him and so helpful to all our family . My mum has settled so well here . I did look at other homes and not one compares even marginally to Cedar Mews . We love it and most importantly my Mum loves it .

My dad stayed at Cedar Mews for respite following a stroke he received fantastic care from all carers on his floor Rosemary Walk his room was very nice clean and modern .he loved the choice of food . Thank you Cedar Mews

EXCELLENT experience! Our 84 year old Mum with COPD and on oxygen 24 hours a day recently stayed for 8 week respite following a long admittance in hospital. She received the highest outstanding care and all her complex medical needs were met and just as important all her emotional and wellbeing needs too with the same high level of compassion, understanding, support and love from all the staff which was above and beyond. Special thanks to the wonderful and supportive Admissions Manger who went the extra mile to fast-track mum's admittance at a very stressful time for the family. Mum's room was beautiful with own ensuite, facilities included onsite hairdressers, constant activities, homecooked food 'Home-from Home' in every way. Staff always had smiles and were very happy and loved their jobs. Family members very much welcomed to visit, offered drinks and freshly baked cakes! Mum hopes to visit soon for a coffee and catch-up and considering staying on a permanent basis in the future.

I and my husband have had the most excellent support from the staff at Cedar Mews Care Home. I had already chosen the home for respite for my husband because of it's lovely design, atmosphere, expertise and set up. However we reached a crises point and I could not have gone to a better place. Communication and support has been excellent. There is good access to medical care and advice and I feel all the staff are positive and proactive. It has been a massive relief to me to find such a fantastic source of care and support for my husband.

I'd just like to thank all the staff and management for our treatment over the two weeks. My father was in another care home and I was told he needed to leave that day, I rang Cedars and was greeted with a wonderful member of staff that took away all my pressure, not only did she get him in the next day but she picked him up and looked after him. My father has dementia and was very calm, happy and content at cedars. The staff, care and amenities are incredible and from start to finish it was a professional and caring experience, I can't actually express in words how happy we all are as a family . A huge thank you to everyone at The Cedars for going above and beyond you truly are all amazing .

The best thing of all about Cedar Mews Care Home however is the staff team. Everyone who we have encountered has been so helpful, friendly and caring. The team were a great help in getting dad transferred from hospital and have given us lots of support with following up medical appointments and prescriptions. Throughout his stay everyone has been absolutely lovely and welcoming - we are incredibly grateful and will miss them very much when he returns home later this week. 100% recommend Cedar Mews.

Everyone is so attentive and friendly. My father is made as comfortable as being at home. He is quite happy and has everything he needs. The home is clean has lots of activities. Food is good and family can participate in everything with him, which makes him feel at home.

She is already booked in for another respite stay with them and I can't thank them enough for everything they did.

My mother has now been at Cedar Mews Care Home for 6 weeks so far and all the staff have made such a positive impact on my mother's health and social well being. Whenever we have contacted the home for any help or advice they have always been able to help and accommodate what is needed.

This was my first visit. We were greeted and made to feel that we were welcome. We were taken to our friend's room. The receptionist was very helpful as wer any staff we came into contact with. Our friend said that he was very comfortable and that everyone was brilliant. When staff came into the room, they were very considerate. He is bed bound and pleased to see that the bed was adjusted obviously to prevent bed sores. We felt that there was a very nice atmosphere (unlike many homes I have been in). Staff were very attuned into my friends needs.

My mother is very well cared for. Exceptional caring staff. Keep me well informed.

On visiting, over 60 miles away, I always get a friendly welcome. I find the staff helpful and very pleasant. The overall care home is the best I have ever visited. The appearance being more like a hotel.

All the staff including catering, and house management presented as highly professional, very friendly, and caring. We couldn't thank all the staff enough for the support and kindness they demonstrated to myself, my sister and our Mother. The support received and the dignified way her passing was managed helped is enormously. The facilities were excellent and the staff are a credit to the company. We are pleased we chose Cedar Mews, and we would recommend it every time.

The care home is always open to families and they are very enthusiastic about family participation and as such it is always a great way to build relationships with the care staff members. Take this May for example where a boat trip was arranged where family members could attend, which I gladly did, not only was it a fantastic day for all the residents but I also had some great memories and photos from the day for me to cherish. The communication with regards to my mother is always on point and I have advised them to phone me no matter what time of day or night it is and they duly oblige, so I feel safe in the knowledge that unless they call me, my mum is happy and well cared for, which helps me sleep at night. This is also backed up every time I visit, seeing all residents being well catered for. Top-notch service all round.
