Overall Experience

I came here to visit an old friend, and the lady at reception was ever so welcoming, professional and attentive to all details. She was never stopping picking up the phone, assisting visitors and residents. Tanya provides an excellent service to both residents and visitors, and her attention to detail is superb. She is always with a welcoming smile on her face, and her mannerism is so professional yet so caring and loving. The representation of the care home with her at the front desk is beautifully completed and assured.

My husband's care has been wonderful. The staff are always on hand to look after him, and anything we ask is dealt with immediately, which is incredibly reassuring.

Moving him from hospital was very stressful, but the staff made it so much easier, and he settled in so quickly.

He is very happy and content, which means a great deal to us. The coffee lounge and gardens are lovely, and they make visiting such a pleasant and relaxed experience. We're very grateful for the care and environment provided.

We couldn't have asked for better support during what was a difficult transition from hospital into care. The team were incredibly supportive of us as a family throughout the whole process, making everything feel much easier and reassuring.

The care my father has received has been outstanding. He has settled in remarkably well, which is a real testament to the kindness and dedication of the staff. Everyone is so warm, friendly, and genuinely caring-it really shows in how comfortable and happy he is.

The home itself is thoughtfully laid out, creating a calm and welcoming environment, and his bedroom feels truly homely and personal. We feel very grateful to have found such a wonderful place.

Grandmother is currently residing here and the care she's receiving is brilliant, it's always nice to go in as the home has a warm welcoming feel. The environment, including the gardens (which considering recent weather is very impressive) are in great condition, the staff are friendly and experts in creating a community feel that is truly fantastic!

From the very first day, the kindness shown by Annie set the tone for everything that followed. Her empathy, coupled with deep knowledge & professionalism, immediately put us at ease. The assessment carried out by Annie & Zoe, the Dementia Care Manager, was exceptional - thoughtful, thorough, and person-centred in every way. Zoe's expertise in dementia care shines through, both she and Annie made us feel Dad was truly understood & respected as an individual. The home itself is beautiful and homely - not in an overwhelming way, but in a way that feels comforting and familiar without being a painful reminder of the home Dad no longer lives in. The décor is stylish yet welcoming, striking a perfect balance between comfort and dignity. What really stands out is the focus on wellbeing and dignity. Every decision & action feels centred around the person, not just the process. The entire team genuinely cares about residents and their families,& it shows in every interaction.

I cannot speak too highly of Bourne Wood Manor. The care my husband received was excellent! it far surpassed our expectations. He was there for 2 months respite & we could see the improvement daily. All the staff were so friendly helpful & caring. He frequently tells us how well he was looked after there and I concur. A lovely home.

From my very first approach and visit to Bourne Wood Manor Care Home I received the best advice, kindness and help as to how I could introduce my friend, who lived alone, to the fact that she needed to be in a safe environment due to rapid deterioration of Alzheimers despite her young age. The initial contact and care that was taken throughout the whole process was just excellent and so very caring, the best interaction I could ever have hoped for. We were so welcomed and arrangements were made as swiftly as possible for care to commence at the earliest opportunity. The whole team at BWM Care Home are so engaged, kind, caring, empathetic and considerate of both the incoming resident as well as the carer who carried the responsibility. My friend is in a wonderful home with beautiful gardens, great facilities and activities which are all kept to the highest standard but most importantly she is being so well cared for and is safe.

Bourne wood manor is such a lovely caring environment all the staff are so wonderful. My Dad moved to Bourne wood manor in Farnham after a spell in another carehome in Guildford and I'm so pleased for him to be back in his home town and I feel really lucky to have found the perfect place for him. From the initial visit with the lovely Annie to moving him in and getting to know the other staff members, it has been such a relief to be able to see him safe happy and well cared for.

Overall Experience
Bourne Wood Manor is modern with facilities as excellent as you might expect - good sized bedrooms, delightful restaurant, private dining room for loved ones' families, a cinema, bistro, hairdresser, and pretty gardens.
However, the key thing about Bourne Wood Manor has nothing to do with its facilities but has everything to do with its staff. They are wonderful - kind, responsive and caring. As you walk along the corridors, whether you're a visitor or resident, you are always greeted by a warm smile and cheery hello. Staff are chatty and engaging with the residents, with the obvious aim of making everyone's time there as positive and rewarding as possible.

They couldn't have cared better for my mother. And so I couldn't recommend it more for other people's loved ones.

Review from A P (Nephew of Resident) published on 3 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My aunt has been at Bourne Wood Manor for nearly four years and her care has always been very good, but I was particularly touched by the extreme kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness of her care over the last few weeks when she was in decline and eventually passed away. It must have been very distressing for the staff to see her declining but they were all absolutely sweet with her and, for example, happily went through the laborious procedure of hoisting her into a wheelchair when she said she wanted to get up, only to have to put her back to bed again 15 min later. It was very helpful for me and my wife to have medically-trained people to hand to advise on what she should take by mouth and to address breathing issues; and also to benefit from the weekly GP visits that the home have arranged. Altogether the care during her final week was faultless, so the five stars are much more well-deserved than many five-star ratings!

Mum has been in Bourne Wood for 2 1/2 years now and is so much happier and healthier than if she had stayed at home on her own. She tries to join in activities but advancing years and poor health make it hard however the staff really encourage her and she loves all the interactions with them. It's a great home with lovely staff all of whom deserve praise. All of them from admin to carer will muck in and help which is lovely to see.

My stepfather came into the home stressed, delerious and not in a good state. He is suffering from dementia and we were very concerned about finding the right care home to meet his needs and that he would settle well into. We have been delighted with the care that he has received here, after a few weeks he has settled in and now believes that he is an all-inclusive hotel. His only concern now is how he is going to pay for the hotel without his wallet!! Highly recommend.

My mother has just finished a wonderful two week respite stay at Bourne Wood Manor. I cannot recommend the place highly enough! From the client services manager, who could not have been more helpful with all of the initial information and getting Mum in and settled, to all the dedicated nursing team, the brilliant activities team, the catering team for the delicious meals, and the staff member who was so helpful on reception. They are just the nicest, most caring team of people. Thank you all for taking such good care of my Mum. She will be back!
