In those final days at Friaswood, we felt completely held and supported. We genuinely felt we belonged there alongside Dad. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the staff's compassion and proactive care continued right through Dad's last moments and beyond.
Losing a family member is always painful, but the way the team guided us through that time was exceptional, and we will always be grateful.

While the practice support is great, it is the concern and compassion shown by the team that really stands out. They genuinely care for the welfare and wellbeing of the clients.

My mother-in-law died in her sleep so we weren't there to say goodbye but we came to Belong on hearing this sad news. And we were looked after so well. One member of staff told us about the two days since we'd seen her, made us mugs of tea and waited with us until the funeral director came. We felt held and comforted and I want to thank Belong for this.

My Mum was only with you for 3 Weeks but the level of care recieved surpassed all of our expectations. She was extremely happy and well looked after as were we. The front of house team were always very helpful and accommodating with one member in particular standing out with their kindness and empathy and the team in Ironmarket were so kind and caring and my Mum struck up a real friendship with one of the carers in particular who I must say made the whole experience a lot easier for us all. I would strongly recommend here for anyone as it made our last 3 weeks comfortable and we cannot thank you all enough. Many thanks once again and Take Care.

My mother was in the Belong Care Home at Newcastle under Lyme for 4 years. During that time her nursing care was first class and far far better than she ever got in the nearby hospital which I consider was just neglectful. The staff at the home also ensured medication was taken, food eaten, drink taken and personal cleansing carried out. They were always friendly and accommodating. I'm glad my Mother was in Belong's care and not another care home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this feedback. We are touched by your kind words which are valued by all the team. We aim to maintain high standards at Belong Newcastle under Lyme and we are delighted to hear this has been your experience.
The staff at Hempstalls have been wonderful in looking after our mother. Their love, care and consideration towards her have been amazing and she was settled, happy, safe and secure.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and pleasure Sue and George, carers, provide for my wife, who has Alzheimers. I was at the end of my tether when somebody told me of Belong in Newcastle, less than 10 minutes from our home. It has been a life saver to know she's safe and it gives me a much valued break.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this lovely feedback. We are delighted to know that you so are happy with the care provided and that the dedication of our village team is making a difference.
I cannot say anything bad about this place , I lost my mum before Xmas after a 6 week stay in hospital , my dad was also admitted to hospital 4 weeks after my mum was , there was no way my dad could go back to their marital home , he'd broken his hip and we nearly lost him too , but he pulled through , I enquired at Belong and from the minute we viewed the place to my dad being accepted for a room on Pooldam Household the whole experience went smoothly , the staff from management to domestics and everyone in between has really made it so much easier for us as a family to sleep at night knowing that my dad is going to be well and truly cared for , I can't recommend this place enough
Thank you so much for this lovely review! It is a privilege to have your dad staying with us at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme and to know that he is well cared for and the family are reassured. The teams will be thrilled with this feedback.
The room is a great size, and the home itself is the best one in the area.
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this kind feedback. It means a great deal to the team here and we are so pleased to hear you are happy with our care and facilities at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Mum went into a household in Belong when she reached the stage of being unable to manage at home. She remained there for over two years until she died. Anyone who has dealt with finding a suitable care home for a loved one will know how stressful it can be. Nowhere is perfect but Belong is so much better than any other care home I've had experience of (and that is many). All the staff are exceptionally well trained but they create a family environment and are totally dedicated, caring and loving. Mum could not have been happier anywhere and was loved and cared for by all the staff, from managers and team leaders to other care professionals and domestic workers, all of whom contributed to creating a loving and caring environment. As a relative I was treated in a similar way, always welcome and part of the extended family. The end of life care given to mum was exceptional and could not have been better. I will never forget the care showed to mum and myself during her time there.
Please accept our condolences; it was a privilege to care for your mum and we are pleased to know she was happy and so well cared for, during her time here. Thank you for taking the time to submit your review and we will ensure your kind words are shared with the team at the village.
My family has had a wonderful experience with Belong. Both my Mum and Dad have benefited greatly from the care provided here. My Mum has stayed in the Pooldam household and in her apartment, and she has been so happy, comfortable, and safe. The 24-hour support, kindness, and professionalism of the staff have given us incredible peace of mind. Thank you to everyone for the outstanding care you provide.
Thank you for leaving such a kind review of Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme. We are delighted to hear your experience with us has been a good one. I will be pleased to share your lovely feedback with the entire Pooldam Team.
My Mum lived on her own and broke her leg and wrist, when she came out of hospital we moved her into the Belong care home for respite and she was taken care of very well. Every person who I've encountered there (from cafe to care staff and management), everyone has been lovely and caring. We've now moved my Mum into an assisted living apartment and I feel very confident to know that she's in a safe space where she can still be independent and social. I wish we'd known about Belong sooner.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are overjoyed to hear your mum is so happy with us and received such great care. We are also delighted that has now permanently joined our Belong family. I will make sure your review is passed on to the team.
My mum reached the point of being unable to cope at home despite our efforts as a family to provide support, she required 24 hour support. As soon as we visited Belong it felt right, the atmosphere is of a home not an institution. The team at Belong were amazing making the admission process swift and seamless. Mum has now spent 6 months in Belong and she has settled in far better than we were hoping. The care staff on her household are fantastic ensuring mum receives the assistance required in an environment that is friendly and inclusive. Mum has started to refer to Belong as home, something we never expected given her initial reluctance to accept she needed to move into residential care. Mum is now looking much healthier than before she moved in and her mobility has improved thanks to the physio work put in by the Belong team. I cannot recommend Belong enough, absolutely first class support and most important they really do care!
Thank you for taking the time to submit such wonderful feedback. We are so delighted to hear this has been your experience and that your Mum is doing so well with us and feels that she is at home now. I will make sure your kind words are passed to the village teams.
My mum has been cared for in this beautiful home with a level of love and dedication that goes far beyond what we ever could have hoped for. The carers aren't just staff - they're a second family. Every single person seems to genuinely care for her, showing patience, compassion, and attentiveness in everything they do.
The environment itself is just as special: warm, welcoming, and truly feels like a home. From the moment we arrive, we're never treated as outsiders. We're always welcomed with open arms, and it's clear we've been embraced as part of their extended family.
They are consistently responsive not just to Mum's needs, but to ours too - always there with a listening ear, or a reassuring word. Their kindness and professionalism are unmatched, and their commitment goes far above and beyond expectations.
We are endlessly grateful to each and every carer. They deserve all the thanks and credit in the world for what they do.
Thank you so much for this lovely review! It is a privilege to have your Mum staying with us at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme and the teams will be thrilled with this feedback. We are so happy to know that you all feel a part of our Belong family.
Staff are extremely friendly, kind and caring. No issue is too small to attend to. My Mum couldn't be better cared for and is very happy at Belong. She has made new friends, who she enjoys spending time and doing activities with.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are overjoyed to hear your Mum is happy with us, well cared for and settled. I will make sure your review is passed on to the entire village team.
The people with whom I have been involved appear knowledgeable and caring. I feel quite relaxed when leaving my wife in their care.
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this great feedback. It means a great deal to all the team at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme and we are so pleased to hear you are happy with the care provided for your wife. It's a pleasure to have her with us, as a part of our Belong family.
Instead of feeling like a care home, it feels like a home where care is given.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are overjoyed to hear your uncle is happy with us and we are thrilled to have him join our Belong family. I will make sure your review is passed on to the entire Friarswood House team.
At the age of 93, our dad was unable to live unassisted at home and now requires 24-hour care, lots of complex problems, lung cancer, dementia, eyesight etc. From the start of his journey, the Belong staff in Newcastle have been unbelievable, my initial consultation with their front-of-house manager went a long way to ease any concerns I had about Dad living in a care home. Meeting the care staff that will have day-to-day contact reinforced that this is the right place for Dad. After only a week Dad has settled down in his new surroundings, the care staff have been fantastic, as my dad is prone to collapsing they give him the one-to-one care he requires and encourage Dad to interact, seeing Dad looking well (considering his condition), happy & safe takes a lot of the strain from the family. I can log on to the relatives gateway, which is a bonus for me to have this sort of access. I would highly recommend Belong Newcastle to anyone looking for a first-class care/nursing home.
Thank you for taking the time to submit such wonderful feedback. We aim to maintain high standards at Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme; we are so delighted to hear this has been your experience and that your dad is receiving the vital care and attention that he needs. I will make sure your kind words are passed to the village team.
My dad had been suffering from worsening dementia and in June 2024 we needed to sort out some respite for him whilst his carer went away. We settled on Belong in Newcastle. It was only a short travelling time from us, had been very friendly when we visited and ran a system of 'households' whereby each one had approx 12 residents, of mixed needs, centred around their own kitchen, dining and living area. My dad settled in well for the three weeks respite with us being able to drop in any time of day we wanted and always finding him well cared for and the staff friendly. Unfortunately at the end of his stay, he took a turn and became very unwell. After a 2 day hospital stay he was placed onto an end of life pathway. We asked that he come back to Belong who were very accommodating. His last days at Belong were brilliant. The compassion and care staff showed us and my dad were incredible. He died with his dignity, pain-free with family around him and staff that truly cared. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this incredibly moving feedback. It was a privilege to support your dad and it is crucial to us that we make people's time with us as special and positive as possible. It will mean a great deal to our village teams to read your comments and I will ensure they are shared with everyone. Thanks again.
