The Belong village is welcoming and friendly and really feels like a community

My mother was a resident on Laurel House from March 2026 till her death in August 2026. The level of care she received from all the staff was quite frankly exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and we were made to feel so welcome when we visited. As her condition deteriorated and she required nursing care this was delivered seemlessly and with total respect and professionalism. Myself and my family will be forever grateful to everyone on Laurel House for all care and kindness during those difficult few months.

We have had my mum in Belong for a little over a month after having a negative experience of dementia nursing care elsewhere. I can't begin to do justice to the difference. My mum has advanced mixed dementia and is physically limited, but the change in her demeanour and awareness has been remarkable, and I believe that is a testament to an elevation in care standards and an drastic improvement to her environment since moving. The staff are attentive, caring and responsive and operationally the facility is set up to approach things in a completely differently way to what I have seen on offer at other care homes. The variety of social areas, the localised meal preparation and laundry facilities, and the open plan living/kitchen/dining areas in combination with the mixed needs of residents on a household create a far less clinical and depressing environment than a dementia nursing ward. I feel lucky that Belong and the staff have become part of my mum's and our family's lives.

I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough for the care they give their residents. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and thoroughly professional.

Was not told that majority of service users have dementia. Given a very nice bedroom but on a floor where I am the only user not suffering from dementia. Am on a waiting list for a better room but there is no possibility of this happening. Go to another floor for evening meal but even there we 5 are well out numbered by dementia clients. One man keeps entering my room and tries to get into my bed!

My father died unexpectedly in July. He had dedicated his last few years to looking after my mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's back in 2017. This left a big gap and we had to find her a care home very fast. I was terrified on the impact this change might have on her, but after shopping around we found Belong at Newcastle. We immediately liked it and Mum was placed in the Brampton Household within 24 hours of being assessed. We never looked backed. The staff are amazing and they really took her into their hearts. The facilities are also impressive and my Mum started taking part in different activities, at first with family members and very quickly with the staff. I saw an marked improvement in her strength, speech and general health during the first few weeks. The way it is set up, it is nice for the visitors as well. Hence people come gladly and stay longer than usual. The food is fantastic and well priced so stopping for a meal is a pleasure! Thank you Brampton!

We think this is the ideal place for our sister in law. It caters to her every need with care and compassion. Activities are excellent and trips out and about.

My mum has lived at Belong Wigan for the past 4 years, initially in the independent living apartments and latterly in the care side. I honestly cannot praise them enough. The apartments are lovely and she really benefitted from the range of activities available to residents. The Belong at Home care team were amazing and helped mum to stay independent for as long as possible.

When mum moved to the care side due to deteriorating health it was a very easy transition as she was surrounded by familiar faces which was very reassuring for her and the family. The staff in the household were wonderful and very caring to mum and to our family especially when mum was end of life. Mum made some lovely friends and had a lovely last few years of life here.

I made a point of not visiting her while she was in care in case it disturbed her but phoned each evening for three days and was assured she had settled in well and was getting on well with the other residents. I collected her on the last day with some apprehension but she recognised me, was happy to see me, was pleasantly relaxed and looking very well. I anticipate certainly needing more respite care but won't hesitate to arrange it with Belong, Newcastle under Lyme

My husband is very well cared for, i enjoy the village enviroment It has given me a new life also Making friends. My family aways comment how nice it is also on their visits

Losing a family member is always painful, but the way the team guided us through that time was exceptional, and we will always be grateful.

I have been living at Belong Morris Feinmnann for 9 years in a 2 bedroom apartment and living independently but with the possibility of using all the amenities in the Village. At the moment I can cater for myself. There care I see being given to the less fortunate is extremely wonderful.

After a long stay in hospital, Mum went into respite care at Belong. As a family we have found the care to be outstanding. The staff made Mum feel safe, cared for and treated her with the utmost respect and dignity throughout her stay. We are so grateful for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism shown by everyone. Thank you for making Such a difficult time much easier for mum and our family.

My husband did a farewell pass at the home on his final travel to the cemetery and we were greeted by residents, friends and staff to say their goodbyes to Bill. Thank you for such a lovely farewell, it was emotional and pleasing to see the love they had for him.

Mum has lived in an apartment at Belong since 2023, when Dad went into Oak household. All the staff, from every department: hygiene/cleaning, maintenance, kitchen & bistro, reception, carers, nurses, administrators and management have always been magnificent - every day I'm there (quite often!) I see this family of workers go far beyond the call of duty. Sadly, Dad died soon after moving in. Last month, Mum's sister was over from the States, staying a couple of nights in the Autumn (guest) suite. She had worryingly swollen legs after her long journey - one of the nursing managers checked her over, taking blood pressure etc. and was able to reassure her what to do. More recently, mum's health has deteriorated significantly. After an arts & crafts activity in the Venue, one of the carers found some sketches of Mum's and had them framed. They look wonderful, displayed on Mum's wall - she's absolutely delighted! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
