Mum has been in Westhill Park care home for over 3 years. She has received excellent care from day 1 tending to all my mums needs. Communication has been excellent and they have always kept me informed of how she is.
The care team are all fantastic and I've witnessed first-hand what an amazing job they do.

I wouldn't want my mum to go anywhere else.

I enrolled my aunt at Westhill Park in 2020, she receives the most excellent care. She loves the room she is in and calls it her home, the staff are most caring and I get reports regularly on how my aunt's health is or, if there are any concerns. The facilities are second to none she has her hair and nails done fortnightly, which she loves because she is most particular about her appearance, daily laundry, and her meals served either in the dining room or her own room.
When she is in her room for any length of time the careers pop in to see if she needs anything or even a cup of tea.
She loves the activities, she has taken up knitting again, they even bought her a carpet golf set to play to remind her of the days she was a golfer.
Regarding care, you could not wish for better careers they all go that extra mile and nothing is too much trouble for them.

The management staff under the manager provide excellent service keeping the home running as 'a tight ship'.

I just wanted to let you know how highly my family rates Westhill Park Care Home.
My parents both moved in about 3 years ago, my mother has since died, and my father is now coming to the end of his life. I live south of Cambridge and about 5 months ago we moved Dad from Kettering to a care home very close to me so it would be much easier for me to see him. He's since moved back to Westhill Park - there was nothing wrong with the care home near here, but it was a world away from Westhill. As Dad says, he feels like he's part of a family at Westhill, rather than just a patient, and the love he has received at Westhill from the carers and other staff has been amazing. Dad was so pleased to move back into Westhill - on the day he moved back in, he joked about being covered in bruises because he'd had so many hugs from the staff welcoming him back! Both he and the family are extremely grateful for the care he is receiving, and for the warmth he receives from everyone.

Many thanks.

As a family, we have been so grateful for the care Mum has received at Westhill. It has been such a relief for us to know her medical needs are cared for as well as general wellbeing and everyday needs. The daily activities are so important to keep residents stimulated and at Westhill, it can range from crafts, live music to animal visits. The staff are amazing and become like friends to the residents. Mum unfortunately finds it hard now to socialise with the other residents but the staff always give her the option to join in activities and it's so good when we see that they have persuaded her to get out of her room and enjoy music, and the odd crafts for example. As a family, we are so happy to have found Westhill Care Home.

My aunt has settled in beautifully at Westhill. She is happy and relaxed. Enjoying the food, the busy schedule of fun things to do. The staff are very friendly both to residents and families and make us feel very welcome. I would recommend to anybody who is looking for a modern, clean friendly busy place to introduce their family member to, this is the place. Well done Westhill, and thank you.

My aunt has been a resident at Westhill Park since January 2019. She has multiple medical needs and these have changed and deteriorated over the years. Westhill have always managed to accommodate these changing needs and seems to take it in their stride as they go. Staff are friendly and approachable and my Aunt is always clean and her room spotless. There seem to be lots of activities which residents can choose to attend or not. I worry sometimes that my aunt can be 'forgotten' as she is mostly in her room with only TV as company but on visits she seems happy in herself. The home itself is kept in good order, very clean and has a nice small wrap-around garden.

As my dear friend needed full-time/24-hour care - I carefully selected this home for him. He was recently widowed and having Alzheimer’s could no longer live at home without his wife caring for him. This home and all the staff cater for all of my friend's needs fully, often going above and beyond. The home is beautiful, clean and organised. There are choices of appropriate activities to keep all busy every day. The food and dining areas are hotel-standard. The main thing for us is the caring, friendly, helpful staff - from management right through to domestics.

What absolute angels you all are at Westhill Park. How brilliant to see mum out at West Lodge Farm with you today. A couple of times recently she wouldn't even leave the lounge to talk to us and refused point blank to a car ride one sunny afternoon, so to see her out today....Brilliant!

The staff are always so friendly and willing to help and you can visit anytime to suit yourself. The food menus are varied and the food is always very well presented. Mum doesn’t eat a lot but always remarks on how good the food is. My Mum loves it here and thinks it’s the “Best Hotel” in Kettering. What she really enjoys is the time that all the residents spend together and then she can go back to her own comfy room when she’s ready.

I can’t thank the staff enough for their care and 24/7 support for my mother. Management is friendly and supportive of our needs. The staff are exceptional. From clean rooms, clean clothing, haircuts, and entertainment. The only small improvement area I would suggest, I know my mother would like less soft food, as she likes to chew on meat on the bone occasionally. Overall excellent management and staff. My parents have been at Westhill Park since June 2020, and although they both had difficulties adapting, I do think they are happy and very well looked after. The staff are always friendly and they greet my parents warmly and with affection, which puts my mind at rest.
I can visit whenever I please and take my parents out. The wide range of activities on offer is great and I do encourage them both to take part. They have their own things around them, which helps and there are lots of spaces in the home for them to go and relax if they wish.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westhill Park.

My mum has been with Westhill Park for 12 months now. It took her a couple of months to settle but after that, she sees the staff members as family.
The majority of staff go above and beyond their duties. Mum is always clean and tidy in appearance. Her meals are 3 times daily but I know she doesn't particularly like the food - but I understand that after she was previously used to getting her own meals.
For any medical issues, we are kept fully informed.
The home does sometimes feel low on staff, which puts pressure on those who already work hard, but again understand this is usual in this business.

We are always greeted and made to feel welcome as soon as we walk in the front door. If Mum is happy then I am.

Dad was in the care home for just a few weeks. The staff that cared for my father-in-law were great. Helpful and kind. After his death, no one has been in contact with us. The day we emptied his room the senior staff didn't try to speak to us. When we left they had all left the front entrance and we had to look for someone to let us out. We found this very disappointing.

Sharmaine Hall
Sharmaine HallJob Title Home ManagerJoined 2021

In December 2009, I started a job as a support worker in a care home with no idea whether I would suit the role, I then became a senior support worker, then a team leader, a deputy manager, a project manager and then home manager, I think it's fair to say that I suited the role.

Sadly, there is a perception of care that is quite dated and conjures up images of dingy lounges and rice pudding. From day one I wanted to prove that good care homes can be fabulous places to live, that they were not institutions but homes with beautiful facilities and opportunities to really live, not just exist.

When I am making decisions about hiring, menus, activities, decor, I always imagine my family and think about what I would want for them. The people we care for are individuals with rich histories and I want them to remain so, nobody has to fit in here. We provide a service to meet individual needs and that is as it should be.

My favourite part of the job is working with my team; knowing that we are making a difference, I like to lead by example. I work hard to ensure that we are providing a high standard of care and that the home is a happy place.

Every day I work with families and other professionals to ensure our residents get the best service. I am caring and passionate about what I do.

Westhill Park is a fantastic home with hardworking and caring staff. The residents that live with us are amazing and have such individual characters and amazing stories to share. The staff take pleasure in getting to know them and their families, listening to their life histories enables them to form a bond and gain their trust.

One day I'd like to be a director of care, I won't be satisfied until I know that I have provided 5 star care to as many people as possible.

Working in social care is not a job, it's a vocation and I feel truly blessed to have found mine.

Hi, my name is Stephen and I am the Housekeeping Manager here at Westhill Park.

Firstly, I'm going to tell you about myself. I was born and raised in Stoke on Trent, I have lived up North and down South and I am currently living in Kettering. As soon as I left school I went straight into employment I have had various job roles but I found that I am best suited in the hospitality industry. I worked to achieve my NVQ Level 2 in hospitality during my working career.

I was employed as a Housekeeper once I started at Westhill Park but soon progressed into my role as Housekeeping Manager soon after.

The best part of my job is managing my team, working alongside the management to care for the residents who live here at Westhill Park.

Katie Partridge
Katie PartridgeJob Title Head ChefJoined 2023

I came to Westhill Park two years ago as a Kitchen Assistant. During the first 6 months, I was promoted to Deputy Chef where I assisted the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and trained the Kitchen Assistants in maintaining high standards of the kitchen and producing hearty, homely food for our loved ones.

Every now and then, I also cover care, which gives me a great opportunity to interact with our residents. I have familiarised myself with residents' likes and dislikes of food, which has led to a better understanding of how to support their nutritional needs.

In my two years at Westhill Park, I've maintained the 5-star rating with E.H.O. and have entered competitions, which have been an amazing experience for me. Earlier this year, I entered Anchor's internal Chef of the Year competition, where I was in the semi-finals. The judges' feedback was positive, and they were impressed with the food I had produced. I was invited to the final of the Chef of the Year and was proud to assist the other Chefs and experience the event, which was wonderful. I'll enter again this year for sure. I'm also very proud to be a finalist in the regional Great British Care Awards in the Care Home Cook/ Chef award.

I wouldn't be where I am today without the amazing support of my team and the managers at Westhill Park.

Hi, my name is Connor, and I am 26 years old

I was born in Haywards Heath. I decided to move up to Kettering spontaneously, and the first job I got was working as a housekeeper/ Kitchen assistant. Since then, I progressed into care, and I’ve taken a new role at Westhill Park as the Care Home’s Handy Person.

My role is to make sure the home remains a safe haven for our residents and staff, and for the home to feel as welcoming as possible. What I enjoy the most is being hands-on and actively present in the day-to-day running of the home. I enjoy helping the residents by repairing items, sorting furniture and painting to make it homely. I want to make sure that everyone is living in a person-centred environment that is as much of a home-from-home as possible.
