My dear mum passed away on 24th January at The Manor House. She had resided there for four years and had a happy time, despite her health ailing and having to endure the restrictions of the pandemic.
She had a beautiful room and loved her food there. She was put on end-of-life care the Monday before
her passing and the care staff were absolutely brilliant. They helped us through what is a very emotional rollercoaster and gave us the support we needed. Can thoroughly recommend!

My mother has been a dementia resident at The Manor for a year. The staff (from most senior to care assistants) have been unfailingly kind and helpful to our whole family. Mum has been looked after with care and her dignity maintained at all times. She really could not be in a better place. People,

My father had a fall at home and was in hospital for a month. He wanted to be discharged as soon as possible but wouldn't have been able to cope at home as he was very frail. We looked for a home that could offer respite care and Manor House seemed to fit the bill. What a good choice it was! My father
stayed for four months and had the very best of care. He would say if I can't be at home this is definitely the next best thing.
Not only did he receive great care in beautiful surroundings, but the Manor House team were super supportive of the whole family. My mother was able to visit easily, my father got into a routine he enjoyed, and the family felt comfortable spending time there.
We would highly recommend it to anyone looking into care options.

Our parents, both in their nineties and becoming increasingly frail, came into the home in the midst of the Covid lockdown. Despite the massive change in lifestyle and the Covid-induced visiting restrictions, they were very quickly made to feel comfortable and safe. As they each in turn entered the
final stages of their lives, the care provided was exemplary and extremely thoughtful. We are so grateful to the Manager and her wonderful team for everything they did for our parents, and also for the care and consideration shown to us during the most sensitive of times.

My 91 year old aunt moved to The Manor House in October 2022, when she could no longer look after herself at home. The staff have been marvellous, listening to her, helping her to feel at home and caring for her as her health deteriorated. I can't praise them highly enough. And what a fabulous place
to live. So well planned, beautifully decorated, good home-cooked food and nice people, in lovely surroundings. It's very far from my preconceptions of what a care home would be like.

The care my mother receives is quite outstanding. She was previously receiving in-home care, which was extremely challenging. Since becoming a resident, her overall condition, care and safety have improved considerably. I cannot thank The Manor House team enough... fantastic.

This home is fantastic. It's nothing like people would paint a care home to be.
It is clean, modern and the facilities are brilliant. My aunt has lived here for nearly two years and would not want to be anywhere else.

The Manor House Harrogate is the most fabulous care home. The management and staff always go the extra mile. It is just like a five-star hotel. My mum is so happy and is particularly enjoying the delicious meals prepared by the kitchen chefs. Every care is taken to ensure the food is well-balanced.

The Manor House Harrogate is a modern purpose-built care home with a lovely south-facing garden in a sought-after residential area close to the renowned gardens. It provides tastefully furnished and well-appointed accommodation with comfortable lounges and other communal facilities, which I liken to
a five-star hotel. My wife, who has dementia, has been a resident for approaching two years, during which time she has been very well looked after by pleasant, friendly and caring staff who make sure she has the opportunity of being included in the various activities organised in the home and is not left in her room on her own. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience and would have no hesitation in recommending The Manor House Harrogate to anyone looking for a top-quality home.

My lovely mum, who has dementia, has been a resident at The Manor House since December 2021. The home is beautiful, more like a hotel, and it is a pleasure to visit. The individual rooms are beautiful and very well-appointed. There are lots of activities, and the whole place feels like a family environment.
The staff are all exceptional and provide true person-centred care. I’m amazed how all the staff remember each person's name, and everyone is tread with respect and dignity.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for the care they are providing for Mum and the support they have given to me. This is truly an exceptional home, and I would highly recommend it.

The Manor House Harrogate is an amazing care home with a caring family atmosphere. My dad has Alzheimer's and he has been settled and much happier since his move to The Manor House in August 2022. I visit often and the management and care teams make me feel supported and I know my dad is well cared
for. The decor in the home is beautiful and it does feel like a hotel, there are frequent activities and a cafe bar which is lovely for residents and their visitors.

Following a fall (resulting in admission to hospital) and the progression of dementia, it became obvious that Dad couldn't remain living at home. The staff at The Manor House were welcoming, efficient and kind, both to Dad and the family. They liaised with the hospital to ensure a smooth discharge,
allowed me to bring furniture and items from home to make his room his own, supported Dad throughout his first days and continued to help him both physically and mentally. The people who work there (management, carers and hospitality staff) are all fantastic.

From our very first visit to The Manor House, I knew it was going to be the perfect place for my mother, who is such a lady. We were both impressed with the management and all the staff who greeted us with a smile and a kind and caring approach. The decor is absolutely stunning and attention to detail
is outstanding and exceptionally well designed. The beautifully laid-out dining room with linen napkins is something my mother noticed straight away and is very important to her. My mother has a stunning room with a bay window which is spacious and very homely. We moved my mother into The Manor House on the 30th June 2022 she says it’s like living in a hotel, everything is done for her. She just gets up, puts on her beautiful clothes and is treated like a lady with her meals, entertainment, hair and nails. As her daughter, I couldn’t have wished for anywhere better for my Mother, who has dementia, knowing 24/7 my mother is safe, cared for and treated with respect and dignity. Thank you. 5*

I stayed here for 2 weeks in April. I have every intention of moving back here permanently. My only criticism is that I didn't get croissants for breakfast but have been assured they are available by request. Very caring, very comfortable. My room was big. The views are good but the front rooms which
are more expensive have better views. I am on a waiting list for these. I enjoyed the residents' meeting - it seems that the manager listens to the views and acts on this quickly. I 100% recommend living here.

From first visiting the Manor House with my brother, we were impressed with the management of the home, the staff and the design of the home which is of a high standard. Due to the way the building has been designed and the size of each wing, it felt homely but of a high quality which is exactly what
we were looking for. My Dad was only in the Manor House for just over two months but during that time, we felt Dad was cared for very well and my Mum’s needs were considered. Communication was good and the care given as my Dad reached the end of his life was excellent. The staff got to know my Dad and his needs very quickly and we were very happy with the standards of care and the cleanliness, laundry service, etc. My Mum, my brother and me were made to feel welcome from the outset. We are grateful for all that the Manor House did for my Dad and our family. A professional home with a dedicated, hard-working team of staff whatever their role in the home.

I have been a care home manager for ten years and have a Master’s Degree in Public Health. I have been the manager of The Manor House since 2017 - before it was built - and have overseen every step of the process to where we are now.


Each team member has been carefully selected based on their individual strengths and qualities, to ensure our residents receive the best level of care. I am proud to lead my enthusiastic, compassionate and diverse team of staff in delivering the highest standards in one of England's most luxurious care homes.

I have worked in various kitchens over a 22 year span and have learned many things along the way regarding how different kitchens work.


I love cooking and seeing people enjoying the food I have prepared for them, whether it be in a restaurant, a hotel, doing banquets and weddings, or for residents in a care home - where I currently work with Anchor.


My main focus is to ensure that all the food I prepare is done so with care, love and attention, ensuring my guests receive the best possible experience. I really enjoy face to face interactions with my guests and residents, as I feel it is important to get feedback on what I do and to build a rapport with the clientele.


I believe you have to be adaptable in your approach when it comes to food as everyone has different pallets. A care home environment is a wonderful place to be in as I am effectively coming into other people’s home and doing what I love both in and out of work.
