My husband went into The Manor House in August 2021. From the minute he arrived, the staff were caring and attentive. The surroundings felt very homely and my husband settled in really well. The staff were also very supportive to me and became like an extended family. When my husband's condition deteriorated
the staff didn't just try and muddle through they wanted what was best for my husband and fought hard for him to get the care that he needed so that he had a good quality of life. Sadly, this meant he had to move to another care home but I cannot thank the management and staff enough for their support and for fighting his corner all the way. I couldn't have chosen a better place for my husband to go to when I was looking for a home for him.

Excellent. A bit short staffed but always kind and helpful. I shall stay here. They need more trained night staff because some of the patients are quite ill. The activities are excellent. I get a bit scared on nights and a bit lonely.

Lovely, friendly feeling to the home. The staff know each resident and assist to make my father's stay interesting and comfortable. Times are difficult for everyone but glad we got Dad here when we did.

My Mother was at The Manor House for 10 months. The overall standard was excellent. My Mum was at the end of her life and she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Caring staff made sure all her needs were met and also communicated to myself and my sister on a daily basis, when we were not
able to visit due to Covid. Given the circumstances, it was of great comfort to us.

Both of my parents are being cared for at The Manor House. They have very different needs and I couldn’t be more grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to them and the family. My stepfather is in respite after an illness and has recovered well with the high level of care given. The food and
activities on offer are particularly appealing to him, he has said the carers can’t do enough for him. Mum has Alzheimers and it was a very difficult decision to put her into care. I have never looked back since choosing The Manor House. The staff are excellent communicators and the stimulating and positive environment is wonderful for Mum’s needs. She is extremely happy and settled there. A well-managed care home with an excellent team of professional, caring and dedicated staff.

My mum has been a great mum.
She now has dementia and needs 24-hour care.
I wanted the best for her and I also I believe I found it at the Manor House.
Thanks very much to the wonderful, patient, caring staff, I don't need to worry about mum. She has reassured me she's fine and looked after when

I cannot praise The Manor House, Harrogate enough. The care my husband received was excellent, throughout his stay until he sadly passed away. The care from the staff was amazing and I was so thankful he spent his last days there, 'above and beyond' what was expected. Many heartfelt thanks to you all.

The Manor House is more like a 5* hotel than a residential home, but magnificent as the building and surrounding gardens are, it is the staff that makes this home so special. My mother-in-law was a resident for just over a year and during that time the staff showed her love, care, and compassion and
always went the extra mile for her. Her well-being was most definitely their priority. In her final hours, she always had someone with her to hold her hand and reassure her and the kindness that was shown to her throughout her stay was extended to me too. The home produced a newsletter each month outlining the numerous events and activities that were laid on for the residents and be it Christmas or Euro 2020 the staff made every effort to decorate the home and engage the residents. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. 5 stars are simply not enough.

My mum has been a resident since Covid took hold in May 2020. The home reminds me of a 5-star hotel with a grand reception area with all the marble together with the coffee bar, shop, hairdressers; it really does tick all the boxes.
Being the son of my mum, you are always wary of putting your loved
one in a safe and caring environment. This has possibly been the best place for her with the daily interaction they provide and meets all her needs.

The Manor has been very friendly and welcoming to my mum and family. Mum has now been a resident for one year at The Manor, most of which, unfortunately, Mum has been in lockdown due to Covid.
They have acted swiftly to any issues that have occurred, keeping me informed.
The overall standard of accommodation
is second to none; it doesn't feel like a care home, more like a nice hotel.
I think this has helped Mum to settle as it is an uplifting environment. They seem to have plenty of activities, although this has had to be reined in because of Covid.
A member of staff has helped me to do video calls to Mum, which have been lovely.
Overall, I and my brothers have been very impressed with the level of care, and Mum seems very happy and stable. My mum has Alzheimer's.

I just had to write a review for The Manor House Harrogate because I am so so massively impressed with them, I cannot express this enough. My dad has Dementia and Parkinsons and moved to The Manor House in August 2020, from a different care home in Leeds, as I live in Harrogate and wanted him near to
me. From the moment we decided on The Manor House, to him moving in, was so easy and worry and stress free, it was wonderful. The staff arranged everything, picking him up, sorting his clothes and furniture, and settling him in really well - all of this I might add, in the middle of a global pandemic! My dad is so much happier now than he ever was. The care he gets is second to none and the staff can not do enough for him and his family. The staff are wonderful and caring and look after him so well. Everything is communicated very well and they have been unbelievable during the pandemic, with testing, visits, everything. I cannot recommend this home highly enough.

My mother came to The Manor House on 16 November 2020. The care she has received has been excellent and she has been made to feel very welcomed by all the staff. She is very shy by nature and has needed a good deal of patient encouragement to mix with the other residents. She really likes her room and
enjoys all the help she receives regarding chores such as laundry and cleaning. Also, she thinks the food is very good.

My mother has recently spent three weeks in the care of The Manor House. Due to the restrictions relating to Coronavirus, I was unable to enter into the home or visit, but the contact I had with all the staff in the process of arranging this respite care was excellent. We received a very warm welcome
on arrival, and the first impressions of the home from the outside were of a very well maintained, bright and inviting building. Every attempt was made to ensure that my mother was as settled as possible during her brief stay.
In the circumstances, I cannot comment on her room, surroundings, or the care staff, but my mother said the food was very good, she had a lovely room with plenty to watch out of the window and everyone was very kind.

My father was placed into The Manor House after recovering from illness in April '20. He had always said that he would prefer to look after himself at home, but the severity of his illness and the impact of COVID-19 eliminated this option, and long-term care was required (I live overseas). We were unfamiliar
with The Manor House, but a review of its website, reviews, and a fortunate meeting with someone familiar with it alleviated our initial concerns. My father's age and condition make him highly dependent on his carers for medical support, emotional support/companionship and careful observation (risk of falling). I call him every day and have been able to visit him under The Manor House's empathetic and effective visitation policy. I can honestly state that every interaction I have had with management and staff has been first class from day one. My dad can be demanding, but he often states how happy he is to have found such a fantastic place to be looked after at this important time in our lives!

I was very well looked after at The Manor House in Harrogate. I went in there after having a fall at home and I recovered there very well.
The staff were very good all friendly and capable.
The food is second to none you could not want for anything at The Manor House. Nothing was too much trouble.

Well staffed home. Always friendly and helpful. I have a buzzer in my room to call staff if needed. Food is excellent - cooked breakfast if desired, always soup and a choice of two for main meal and jacket potato, omelettes, sandwiches, cheese and biscuits, sweet and can always have fruit salad or icecream.
There is a coffee bar where hot drinks are always available and a snack shop with crisps, chocolates etc. Some toiletries if needed. These are priced. Laundry done every day.

I have been a care home manager for ten years and have a Master’s Degree in Public Health. I have been the manager of The Manor House since 2017 - before it was built - and have overseen every step of the process to where we are now.


Each team member has been carefully selected based on their individual strengths and qualities, to ensure our residents receive the best level of care. I am proud to lead my enthusiastic, compassionate and diverse team of staff in delivering the highest standards in one of England's most luxurious care homes.

I have worked in various kitchens over a 22 year span and have learned many things along the way regarding how different kitchens work.


I love cooking and seeing people enjoying the food I have prepared for them, whether it be in a restaurant, a hotel, doing banquets and weddings, or for residents in a care home - where I currently work with Anchor.


My main focus is to ensure that all the food I prepare is done so with care, love and attention, ensuring my guests receive the best possible experience. I really enjoy face to face interactions with my guests and residents, as I feel it is important to get feedback on what I do and to build a rapport with the clientele.


I believe you have to be adaptable in your approach when it comes to food as everyone has different pallets. A care home environment is a wonderful place to be in as I am effectively coming into other people’s home and doing what I love both in and out of work.
