My auntie currently lives at Falkland Grange - it is a lovely care home. As a family, we looked at many care homes in the local area, and this home stood out for lots of reasons. Lovely home - looks really modern and has a very homely feel, there were also lots of staff around, but the main thing was they looked happy and very caring.
My auntie talks highly of the food and has started to make some friends. One of the reasons why my auntie choose Falkland Grange, she had become very lonely since my uncle passed away last year. One of her favourite activities is knitting and nattering with the activity ladies.
We were able to visit over Christmas, and we felt very welcomed at all the Christmas events; the light switch on was fun for the whole family.

Thank you so much for all your care and for looking after my auntie.

Each time I have visited all the staff have been very friendly or helpful. It's great to know there are many activities to keep mum occupied. The bedroom is homely and the lounge/dining room is lovely too. Glad to see she is making many friends.

Lovely activities this year that involved relatives and residents. Very efficient, caring and supportive in general, but also extremely quick to react when Dad is poorly. The staff know their residents extremely well. During the Zoom relatives meetings, the staff and manager were very open to suggestions, and this is a good way of keeping in touch. Thank you for the lovely care, and this gives us great peace of mind.

My mother has been in Falkland Grange Care Home now for 9 Months. The moving-in was seamless and the staff were friendly and helpful from the beginning. Mum has settled in very well and is very happy with the care she receives. There are a lot of activities on offer on a daily basis and the staff try to keep the residents busy and involved. Obviously, due to Covid, some activities have been curtailed however they are fully back on track now. My wife and I visit often and the staff are always welcoming. We went to the Christmas lights switch on in December and all of the staff put so much effort into making it a super evening. There was a lot of joy, happiness and smiling faces that night and it must have been a great tonic to the residents, it certainly was to the visitors. We have had dealings with most of the staff at Falkland and find them all excellent. Thank you.

Very good overall. Some frustrations.
The internet connection was pretty poor. The signal dropped when moving from room to room. Even in my bedroom, if I moved around in the room when doing physio on the internet, the signal fell over. Each time I had to log on again from scratch. Often the logon had to be repeated several times before connecting. Why can the login particulars not be automatic, once originally set up? Why can two machines, laptop and iPhone not be logged on together? On the PC, with an ethernet connection, the link was better but very slow. The link on my laptop fell over several times during World Cup football! Frustrating!
Getting showered and dressed in the morning was usually good. There were a couple of occasions when I had to wait more than an hour after first ringing the call bell. The problem was not so much the wait, as the lack of communication on why the delay and an accurate estimated time for getting me up.

Carers were excellent.

My dear friend of 40 years spent the last two weeks of her life with you. Although I only visited twice, I found all staff very welcoming and helpful. She was well cared for, in my opinion. The room and home were clean. Felt she was treated with kindness, care and respect. I was treated with compassion on my last visit! Welcomed by all concerned, right down to the cleaner, who waved me off.

I cannot thank Falkland Grange enough for their professionalism, hard work and dedication they showed towards my step mum. Although her stay was very short due to her illness she couldn't wait to come and stay and be thoroughly looked after by all the lovely staff who care for you as one of the family.

My Mother was already in a different care facility, but her care was inconsistent, particularly on the weekends, when a lot of agency staff were used. So, we decided to look at some alternative options and we came across Falkland Grove. I have 2 sisters, one living in America and I must say, the communication between Falklands and all of us was fantastic, which is really important when you're making important decisions and living far away from each other. The CSM, showed the three of us around on separate occasions, giving each of us equal time and attention, and asking any questions we had.

After many discussions, we decided to move Mum to Falklands, and I'm thrilled we did. She received a fantastic welcome from everybody, as did we, which instantly put my mind at ease. Everyone has been so warm, caring and professional, taking time to understand Mum's needs and doing their best to keep mum calm in what is a very stressful situation.

My sister-in-law was a resident for approximately one year after experiencing a series of falls at home. Her age at the time was 89 and she died some twelve months later. I want to place on record the complete satisfaction of my wife and myself with the manner in which she was treated and cared for. She was extremely happy as a resident. When she became ill the staff could not have been more caring and helpful. She was never in pain and we drew great comfort from that - especially as we live some 200 miles from Newbury.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to both management and staff. Towards the end of her stay in the home, we were offered lunch in the private dining room which gave her enormous joy. Thank you everyone for making her stay so comfortable.

Falkland Grange offers excellent care facilities to my mother who has been a resident there since April 2021. The staff are friendly, welcoming and above all very caring. There is a good range of activities for residents to enjoy and the standard of food is excellent. The overall attention to detail is fantastic, there has been a great deal of consideration made to the needs of the residents who live there. I have no hesitation in recommending Falkland Grange when asked.

At Falkland all the staff have been so wonderful to my aunt whist she has been in their care and still to this date!
We came in for a visit on Monday, I also had my little girl with me who is two. The staff were amazing with her allowing her to eat her dinner in there, have a drink and chatted away to her! This was so lovely, as a family we are watching our aunt become very unwell but having some normality in there just helps with the whole process!

Thank you!

I cannot fault the cleanliness of the environment or the quality of the food provided. The manager is responsive when you raise issues. The variety of trips out are good and the activities team.
Dad did not settle at Falkland Grange and has moved to a smaller home, he has dementia.
My issue unfortunately with Falkland Grange was medication, the management of it and the lack of honesty or responsibility for the administration of it by the frontline staff.
The management team met with me when I requested their time but clarity around why issues with medication had occurred was missing. Approach from frontline staff on one occasion was rude, inappropriate and terribly distressing. I was given an apology by the manager. It's sad as we had such high hopes but accuracy around medication is important.

Dad's clothing went missing and I have now been asked to submit receipts for the items lost, I didn't expect to have to provide these in order to be reimbursed. I have still not received any funds.

My friend is living at Falkland Grange with Dementia and she is very happy and content as though she has always lived there. She is treated with kindness, dignity and respect. I have been encouraged to maintain my connections and visit as often as I can. She is involved in activities, the activity man makes an effort with her and always knows how to make her laugh and join in with things. You can tell he has taken the time to know her background and how to get the best out of her, her face changes when she starts joking with him. She has always been a quiet lady who spent time in smaller friendship circles, so to see this connection does make a big difference to her socialising in a place she now calls home. All teams are fantastic, can't fault anyone for their help.

My Nan moved into Falkland Grange Care Home shortly before the first Covid lockdown and I have always found the home a very friendly and caring place to visit. During lockdown, my Nan had her 100th birthday and the Manager and staff could not have done more to give her a special celebration - they were so aware of including our family in any way possible at the time. I’d like to thank Falklands Grange for the care they are giving my Nan, and I very much enjoy my visits.
