I continue to be impressed by the staffing at Rivermede. They are professional, considerate, caring - a real pleasure to deal with. They make me feel comfortable that my mother is being cared for. The facilities are impressive but kept very clean and tidy. The grounds are always colourful and well maintained.

The management have done a great job in running the facility and generally keeping me updated on what is happening. I would unhesitatingly recommend Rivermede.

This was a superb home for dad to commence his attended care. The staff are supportive, friendly and attentive to all the residents' needs. Cleaning and laundry services are ideal. Food was excellent with various choices to suit all tastes and appetites. When arranging outside hospital appointments the admin team ensured the visits were on time and transport and companions were provided. This is an excellent facility with exceptional staff, providing the best care.

Special thanks to a particular staff member - Mum had a denture fitting today and she is anxious about aftercare saying she could not fit them herself.
This staff member crouched down and reassured Mum that all their care staff will help Mum get used to the dentures and help her to put them in and clean them.

The kindness and compassion was beautifully timed as Mum would not hear it from me and we are now on a less stressful way forward. Thank you to that staff member - gutted you are retiring.

Overall Experience

Mum was resident at Rivermede Court for nearly three years, before she passed away in December 2024. During that time she received exemplary care. Initially, Mum, who had an Alzheimer's diagnosis, did not not need a great deal of support - she was on the residential floor. Over time her needs increased both as her dementia worsened and following a fall when she broke her hip. The home were always ready to give her the care and support she needed. Mum was a very sociable person and loved the activities and entertainment. She particularly enjoyed trips out and her favourite was to go to the theatre. Towards the end of her life Mum needed palliative care which was provided with the support of the community nursing team who visit the home regularly. I am so pleased that she was able to remain in the home surrounded by people she knew and who knew her until the end of her life. I will also always be grateful for the support offered to me by all of the staff during that difficult time.

From the first contact, the support was exemplary. I spent over an hour with the Admissions Adviser, looking over the Home and discussing the support needed for a very close elderly friend suffering from both Dementia and Alzheimer's. This was for a respite stay whilst essential building work was carried out on his home. I was shown all areas, rooms, and dining areas and chatted with some residents and staff. The arrangements were very professional and prompt which allowed us total peace of mind for the admission. He settled in immediately and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in some of the activities and sitting with other residents during lunches. Unfortunately, he became quite unwell a few days after admission, the staff noticed this immediately and called an ambulance, informed the family, and kept the room open for his return when discharged. I cannot recommend Rivermede highly enough, everything is 5*. Thank you to three members of staff in particular, and all the staff.

My mother stayed at Rivermede Court for three years when her frontotemporal dementia reached a level where she needed full time care. She remained at the home until she passed away last week. I am so grateful to the amazing care team at Rivermede for great care and affection they showed my mother during her time there. Furthermore, the home was always accommodating of my mother's deteriorating mental condition and were able to care for her advanced dementia in a fuss-free and compassionate manner. During my mother's final days, I spent almost and entire week in the home and watched the staff laughing and singing with the residents in such a lovely warm and relaxed atmosphere. I cannot recommend the home more.

Amazing care home. My mother was hesitant about coming to the home, but seeing her when she first came to the home and picking her up, she has her mojo back. My mum has been more active, having people to talk to has boosted her moral.

As General Manager at Rivermede Court, with over six years of dedicated service and a strong foundation in leadership, I am committed to fostering a compassionate, high-performing environment for both residents and staff. Having progressed from Deputy Manager to General Manager, I bring a hands-on understanding of our community’s needs and a deep-rooted passion for delivering exceptional care.

In my role, I lead with integrity, empathy, and a focus on continuous improvement. I work closely with my team to cultivate a culture of respect, open communication, and professional development, ensuring every team member feels supported and empowered. My approach is centred on building strong, trust-based relationships—with staff, residents, and their families—while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

My Experience

I moved to the UK from Luxembourg in 2006, starting a new life. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to working in the care industry, a field that I hold close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various care settings, but my primary focus has been in nursing care.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside incredible teams and support individuals from all walks of life. Each experience has reinforced my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, whether it’s providing compassionate care, supporting families, or improving the well-being of those who rely on us.

With years of hands-on experience in the care industry, I remain deeply committed to my mission of making a difference and look forward to continuing my journey in this rewarding field.

About Me

I am someone who finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. When I’m not immersed in my professional pursuits, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book, enjoying the company of family and friends, or savouring a cup of coffee at a cosy café, watching the world go by.

What I Do

As Deputy Manager at Rivermede Court, I support the day-to-day running of the home and work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment. My focus is on maintaining high standards of care, supporting the team, and making sure every resident feels valued, respected, and truly at home. I oversee care delivery, quality assurance, and staff development, ensuring that our practice remains consistent, compassionate, and aligned with the values of dignity and respect.

My Experience

I bring 12 years of experience in the care industry, working across a range of roles that have strengthened my understanding of both the clinical and emotional needs of residents. Since joining Rivermede Court in 2022, I’ve become a key part of the leadership team, championing evidence-based practice, reflective learning, and open communication. I’m committed to ensuring that staff feel confident, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional care. Families place enormous trust in us, and I work hard to build transparent, reassuring relationships so they know their loved ones are in safe hands.

Originally from Canada, I first came to the UK while travelling with my sister — a trip that unexpectedly changed my life when I met my future husband in a local pub. That journey eventually led me into a career I’m deeply passionate about: supporting older adults to live with dignity, comfort, and purpose.

About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, tackling puzzles, and swimming — activities that help me unwind and recharge so I can bring my full energy and focus to my role each day. I’m someone who believes in kindness, patience, and the importance of creating a home-from-home environment for every resident at Rivermede Court.

As a Home Admissions Advisor at Rivermede Court, I guide families and prospective residents through every step of the care journey. From the very first enquiry to the day of move-in, my focus is on creating a smooth, respectful, and personalised experience. I take time to understand each person’s needs, preferences, and concerns, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and reassured throughout the process. I work closely with our clinical, hospitality, and administrative teams to make sure every resident’s transition is handled with dignity, sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to their well-being.

My Experience
I bring five years of experience in the care sector, where I’ve developed a deep understanding of the emotional and practical challenges families face when considering long-term care. As the Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator at Rivermede Court, my role is to create a vibrant and inclusive activities programme that brings joy, stimulation, and connection to our residents. I design and lead a variety of events and experiences that support emotional, mental, and physical well-being—with fun being the most essential ingredient.

Although I am a qualified hairdresser by trade, my true passion has always been working with people—and for the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to doing just that. My journey began as an au pair and evolved into roles such as teaching assistant and Cub Scout leader, where I developed a deep appreciation for nurturing wellbeing, creativity, and community spirit.
