Mum is very happy and everyone has gone out of their way to make her feel welcome. It was difficult at the beginning, but she soon settled in and that is down to the way the staff spent time with her. Everyone does go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble.

From my initial contact with the home I have had nothing but friendly professional help from the admissions manager and the reception tem. Every one at the home has made my mother-in-law welcome. All the staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The home is more like a 4 star hotel, lovely
rooms, great choice of food and always something going on. Shame not all care homes are like Rivermede Court.

I had a respite stay. I was made to feel very welcome on arrival and all the carers were warm and friendly during my stay. Meals were very good most of the time. The programme of events was confusing. Things advertised didn't happen and timing was wrong on a church service.
I met some very nice friendly
people and had a most happy time.

The team at Rivermede Court are always very welcoming and friendly. Robyn went above and beyond organizing a meeting space for mum to conduct financial planning meeting that occurred during her respite stay. Big thanks. Mum was very happy this stay and her only complaint was 1 meal was pretty horrible
and wine was not always available and on a few occasions the activity diary changed but small problems compared to lovely stay. Thanks team!

Mum has been at Riverside almost 3 years now. I know she is safe, well looked after and loved by the carers. She is always treated with respect and affection. Her room is always spotless and she is always beautifully presented - her hair and nails are done here. Any concerns should I have there are
dealt with quickly. The staff are all professional and I have never entered the building without a smile and greeting from the staff both carers and reception.

From the moment my grandad arrived two years ago right through to the end of his care, the team were nothing short of amazing. Every single staff member went above and beyond, showing not only professionalism but genuine kindness, and they built such lovely personal relationships with him and with us
as a family.
The home itself was always spotless, welcoming, and so well run, we had complete peace of mind knowing he was in the best hands possible. The level of care, compassion, and attention to detail shown throughout his time there was truly exceptional.
As a family, we cannot thank them enough for everything they did. I could not recommend this care home more highly to anyone looking for a safe, supportive, and caring environment for their loved one.

Mum receives excellent care at Rivermede. The carers are all lovely with herm attentive and kind. She's always well dressed, coordinated and either at the dinner table or sitting with others. The staff keep me and my brother informed with how she is doing when we visit - little things like "she drank
this" or "enjoyed this", which mean a lot to us and show how much care the staff take, seeing all the residents as individuals.

Overall, Rivermede is excellent. My mother has been a resident for over 2 years, the staff are really good,m they have a fairly good retention rate, they don't use agencies unless it's really necessary and the activities are second to none. It's clean, the telephone is answered quickly every time and
the reception staff are always on the ball, happy to help and cheerful. Yes it's a lot of money but it's so much better than a lot of others in this price bracket. You get what you pay for overall.

We're also delighted that our team, including the reception team, has made such a positive impression. Their dedication to providing excellent customer service is something we truly value, and we're glad it has made a difference to you.Thank you again for your support and trust in Rivermede. We look forward to continuing to care for your mother and providing the best experience possible.

The facilities are impressive but kept very clean and tidy. The grounds are always colourful and well maintained.

Special thanks to a particular staff member - Mum had a denture fitting today and she is anxious about aftercare saying she could not fit them herself.
This staff member crouched down and reassured Mum that all their care staff will help Mum get used to the dentures and help her to put them in and
clean them.
The kindness and compassion was beautifully timed as Mum would not hear it from me and we are now on a less stressful way forward. Thank you to that staff member - gutted you are retiring.

Mum was resident at Rivermede Court for nearly three years, before she passed away in December 2024. During that time she received exemplary care. Initially, Mum, who had an Alzheimer's diagnosis, did not not need a great deal of support - she was on the residential floor. Over time her needs increased
both as her dementia worsened and following a fall when she broke her hip. The home were always ready to give her the care and support she needed. Mum was a very sociable person and loved the activities and entertainment. She particularly enjoyed trips out and her favourite was to go to the theatre. Towards the end of her life Mum needed palliative care which was provided with the support of the community nursing team who visit the home regularly. I am so pleased that she was able to remain in the home surrounded by people she knew and who knew her until the end of her life. I will also always be grateful for the support offered to me by all of the staff during that difficult time.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.874)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.874) out of 10 for Rivermede Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.874 for Rivermede Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (433 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 491 Ratings = 4.874
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rivermede Court Care Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I moved to the UK from Luxembourg in 2006, starting a new life. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to working in the care industry, a field that I hold close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various care settings, but my primary focus has been in nursing care.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside incredible teams and support individuals from all walks of life. Each experience has reinforced my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, whether it’s providing compassionate care, supporting families, or improving the well-being of those who rely on us.
With years of hands-on experience in the care industry, I remain deeply committed to my mission of making a difference and look forward to continuing my journey in this rewarding field.

About Me
I am someone who finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. When I’m not immersed in my professional pursuits, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book, enjoying the company of family and friends, or savouring a cup of coffee at a cosy café, watching the world go by.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021

What I Do
As Deputy Manager at Rivermede Court, I support the day-to-day running of the home and work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment. My focus is on maintaining high standards of care, supporting the team, and making sure every resident feels valued, respected, and truly at home. I oversee care delivery, quality assurance, and staff development, ensuring that our practice remains consistent, compassionate, and aligned with the values of dignity and respect.

My Experience
I bring 12 years of experience in the care industry, working across a range of roles that have strengthened my understanding of both the clinical and emotional needs of residents. Since joining Rivermede Court in 2022, I’ve become a key part of the leadership team, championing evidence-based practice, reflective learning, and open communication. I’m committed to ensuring that staff feel confident, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional care. Families place enormous trust in us, and I work hard to build transparent, reassuring relationships so they know their loved ones are in safe hands.

Originally from Canada, I first came to the UK while travelling with my sister — a trip that unexpectedly changed my life when I met my future husband in a local pub. That journey eventually led me into a career I’m deeply passionate about: supporting older adults to live with dignity, comfort, and purpose.

About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, tackling puzzles, and swimming — activities that help me unwind and recharge so I can bring my full energy and focus to my role each day. I’m someone who believes in kindness, patience, and the importance of creating a home-from-home environment for every resident at Rivermede Court.

Job Title: Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator Joined: 2019

What I Do
As the Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator at Rivermede Court, my role is to create a vibrant and inclusive activities programme that brings joy, stimulation, and connection to our residents. I design and lead a variety of events and experiences that support emotional, mental, and physical well-being—with fun being the most essential ingredient.

In addition to organising meaningful activities within the home, I also arrange regular outings to local attractions and community events. These excursions help residents maintain social connections and enjoy new experiences outside the home. Every activity I plan is centred on enriching daily life, encouraging engagement, and ensuring every resident feels valued and involved.

My Experience
Although I am a qualified hairdresser by trade, my true passion has always been working with people—and for the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to doing just that. My journey began as an au pair and evolved into roles such as teaching assistant and Cub Scout leader, where I developed a deep appreciation for nurturing wellbeing, creativity, and community spirit.

I’ve been part of the Rivermede Court team since 2019, bringing with me a wealth of experience in planning, organising, and leading engaging activities. I’m a strong believer in the power of community and have been actively involved in organising local events and fundraising efforts. My background helps me create meaningful, inclusive experiences for our residents that support not only their well-being but also their sense of connection and joy.

I was honoured to be awarded Activity Provider of the Year 2026 in a prestigious award organised by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA), open to care homes nationwide.

About Me
I’m a family-oriented person who loves spending quality time with my partner and our two wonderful children—whether we’re off on an adventure, exploring new places, or simply enjoying a cosy day at home playing board games (which I never shy away from—I love a good challenge!).

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, crafting, gardening, and staying active through my involvement in scouting. These hobbies reflect my creative, hands-on approach to life and naturally influence the energy and enthusiasm I bring to my role at Rivermede Court.
