My mother has been at Rivermede for two years now. She is very happy. The home is super clean, welcoming and friendly.
The food is fantastic, and the staff are pleasant and caring. There is a lot of entertainment and activities. It feels more like a hotel than a care home.

I have experience of two other homes, my wife had dementia. I stayed with her in two-week spells, without doubt, Rivermede Court Care Home, to me, stands out as an example all homes should follow.
Rivermede is in the process of changing chefs, once achieved, I am confident the food and drink rating
will be excellent.

Excellent care given by all the staff, all of the time. They always find time to have a chat with the residents, call them by name and make them feel cherished.
Residents' families are instantly kept up to date with any illnesses that may occur etc.
Reception staff are always extremely helpful. Highly
recommend the care home.

Staff have made a big effort to help my mother settle in and make a home on Sidney Oliver. She has had no problems and feels safe and content in this environment. Staff have been available to the family and communicate in a practical but sensitive way to any concerns.

I stayed at Rivermede Court for two weeks of respite care following an operation. I had wonderful care and kindness from all the staff, and I can't thank them enough. I had a lovely room with everything I could possibly need, and it was a hoy to retire to. The communal facilities are excellent, and
the food also. All the residents made me feel so welcome. I can't praise the home enough - it's helped me regain confidence before returning to my own home.

Dad settled in well and quickly at Rivermede Court Care Home. Once he got to understand his new way of life and the staff got to know him, all was well. He thrives on the variety of activities on offer and joins in what he can. Dad is encouraged to be as independent as possible but personal care is
provided lovingly and appropriately. "Fancy names" meals still confuse him but he never goes hungry. Overall, extremely happy with Rivermede.

My mum has been in Rivermede Court Care Home since July for respite care. The team are amazing. They are kind, responsive and always have a smile.
The Activities Co-ordinator has so much enthusiasm and organises a lovely range of activities, which my Mum has thoroughly enjoyed.
The medical team
are excellent - Mum was unwell during her stay, including a hospital admission, the team handled her discharge and recovery with care, consideration and kindness
The admin team have been flexible and supportive as Mum ended up staying longer than expected.
The whole team have a real 'can do' attitude which is amazing. It has been lovely knowing that Mum is being looked after with such attention.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.874)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.874) out of 10 for Rivermede Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.874 for Rivermede Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (433 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 491 Ratings = 4.874
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rivermede Court Care Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Having progressed from Deputy Manager to General Manager, I bring a hands-on understanding of our community’s needs and a deep-rooted passion for delivering exceptional care.

In my role, I lead with integrity, empathy, and a focus on continuous improvement. I work closely with my team to cultivate a culture of respect, open communication, and professional development, ensuring every team member feels supported and empowered. My approach is centred on building strong, trust-based relationships—with staff, residents, and their families—while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

My Experience
I moved to the UK from Luxembourg in 2006, starting a new life. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to working in the care industry, a field that I hold close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various care settings, but my primary focus has been in nursing care.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside incredible teams and support individuals from all walks of life. Each experience has reinforced my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, whether it’s providing compassionate care, supporting families, or improving the well-being of those who rely on us.
With years of hands-on experience in the care industry, I remain deeply committed to my mission of making a difference and look forward to continuing my journey in this rewarding field.

About Me
I am someone who finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. When I’m not immersed in my professional pursuits, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book, enjoying the company of family and friends, or savouring a cup of coffee at a cosy café, watching the world go by.

What I Do
As Deputy Manager at Rivermede Court, I support the day-to-day running of the home and work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment. My focus is on maintaining high standards of care, supporting the team, and making sure every resident feels valued, respected, and truly at home. I oversee care delivery, quality assurance, and staff development, ensuring that our practice remains consistent, compassionate, and aligned with the values of dignity and respect.

My Experience
I bring 12 years of experience in the care industry, working across a range of roles that have strengthened my understanding of both the clinical and emotional needs of residents. Since joining Rivermede Court in 2022, I’ve become a key part of the leadership team, championing evidence-based practice, reflective learning, and open communication. I’m committed to ensuring that staff feel confident, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional care. Families place enormous trust in us, and I work hard to build transparent, reassuring relationships so they know their loved ones are in safe hands.

Originally from Canada, I first came to the UK while travelling with my sister — a trip that unexpectedly changed my life when I met my future husband in a local pub. That journey eventually led me into a career I’m deeply passionate about: supporting older adults to live with dignity, comfort, and purpose.

About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, tackling puzzles, and swimming — activities that help me unwind and recharge so I can bring my full energy and focus to my role each day. I’m someone who believes in kindness, patience, and the importance of creating a home-from-home environment for every resident at Rivermede Court.

In addition to organising meaningful activities within the home, I also arrange regular outings to local attractions and community events. These excursions help residents maintain social connections and enjoy new experiences outside the home. Every activity I plan is centred on enriching daily life, encouraging engagement, and ensuring every resident feels valued and involved.

My Experience
Although I am a qualified hairdresser by trade, my true passion has always been working with people—and for the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to doing just that. My journey began as an au pair and evolved into roles such as teaching assistant and Cub Scout leader, where I developed a deep appreciation for nurturing wellbeing, creativity, and community spirit.

I’ve been part of the Rivermede Court team since 2019, bringing with me a wealth of experience in planning, organising, and leading engaging activities. I’m a strong believer in the power of community and have been actively involved in organising local events and fundraising efforts. My background helps me create meaningful, inclusive experiences for our residents that support not only their well-being but also their sense of connection and joy.

I was honoured to be awarded Activity Provider of the Year 2026 in a prestigious award organised by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA), open to care homes nationwide.

About Me
I’m a family-oriented person who loves spending quality time with my partner and our two wonderful children—whether we’re off on an adventure, exploring new places, or simply enjoying a cosy day at home playing board games (which I never shy away from—I love a good challenge!).

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, crafting, gardening, and staying active through my involvement in scouting. These hobbies reflect my creative, hands-on approach to life and naturally influence the energy and enthusiasm I bring to my role at Rivermede Court.

At Rivermede Court, my goal is to deliver a dining experience that feels both personal and exceptional.

My Experience
With over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my role as Head Chef at Rivermede Court. Originally beginning my career in restaurants, I later found a true calling in care home dining, where I could combine my love for food with a commitment to the wellbeing of others. For more than 15 years, I’ve been living and working in the UK, honing my skills in both fine dining and specialist care catering.

About Me
I am a passionate, confident, and creative chef originally from Spain, with a deep love for food and people. My background and culture inspire much of my cooking, bringing vibrant flavours and fresh ideas to every dish I create. Beyond the kitchen, I enjoy connecting with residents and team members—sharing stories, laughter, and the joy that good food can bring.

When I’m not working, I love to relax, unwind, and enjoy a good conversation. Whether it’s experimenting with new recipes or simply kicking back on my days off, I believe balance and joy are key ingredients in both life and cooking.

What I Do
As Hospitality Supervisor at Rivermede Court, I focus on creating a warm, welcoming, and well?organised environment for our residents and their families. I oversee all front?of?house services, including mealtimes, events, laundry, and housekeeping, ensuring every detail contributes to an exceptional hospitality experience. My role is about more than keeping things running smoothly — it’s about helping residents feel comfortable, respected, and truly at home. I work closely with the care team to maintain high standards, consistency, and a calm, reassuring atmosphere throughout the home.

My Experience
With 20 years of experience as a Head Housekeeper in the care sector, I bring a deep understanding of what excellent hospitality looks like in a care environment. Families trust us because we take pride in our work, follow clear standards, and always put residents’ well-being first.

About Me
