My mother has Alzheimer's which was diagnosed during a lockdown and during 2021, we realised we would need care much earlier than we thought. Looking at homes was a really daunting experience and felt like we didn't know what questions to ask. Visiting Rivermede made us realise how different the approach is (and those who start talking about their shareholders and parent companies before they have even asked you about your parent are to be avoided) as they wanted to know who and how she was, where things were and how fast we needed to move. In our case, it was within days. Looking back, it was amazing how things were organised and the contact from the team during the whole process helped me take a breath for the first time in months. My siblings and I felt at ease especially in the middle of covid. Nearly six months on and we cannot fault the care and our mother is well and safe. Our thanks to the whole team and the other amazing staff.

Overall very caring environment. Excellent activities provided, which were helpful and well done. Sometimes the food isn't exactly what I'm used to, but usually, there is something on the menu that I can choose - excellent soup.

My mum has been in Rivermede, Egham, for over a year and I have to say that all the effort the carers make to keep the residents entertained and mentally stimulated is amazing. They organise games, quizzes and arrange for outside entertainers, such as singers or piano players to come to the home. They make a special effort to mark relevant events such as Remembrance Sunday, Valentine’s Day, Yorkshire pudding day, the National Blood Transfusion day; there have been many others,
Every day they have a fantastic tea, with freshly made individual cakes.

The choice of food available is great and the chef is aware of everyone’s likes and dislikes and remembers them too!

I have been very impressed with the quality and care that my mum has received over the last two months. Every member of staff are polite and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them to make my mother comfortable and content. They also answer any questions that I might have and inform me of any problems regarding my mother. I know my mum feels safe in their care and I would have no hesitation in recommending Rivermead to friends with elderly relatives who are thinking of going into care.

Thank you to the staff at Rivermede, and one member of staff in particular, who went to great lengths to ensure Mum's care and safety when she was admitted to hospital this week.

And to the rest of the care team who have worked so hard to get her well again when she returned. You are all stars and we are so grateful.

My mother, who has severe dementia, became a resident earlier this year on the recommendation of a friend. I have been very impressed with the standard of care and the high level of monitoring in place to meet her rather complicated needs. It is good to know that she is clean, safe and well looked after. The home itself is lovely and I am very impressed with the staff and the level of involvement of those residents who are able in various projects.

Well done all and keep up the good work!

A very warm welcome, and every effort made to help my husband settle and keep him comfortable, especially as he arrived straight from the hospital. I cannot recommend this home more highly. I researched many homes before bringing my brother up from Dorset. I had a shortlist of three, and this home far out-did the others. The home itself is beautiful, the staff fantastic, facilities wonderful, and more than anything, I appreciated 'no hidden costs' policy. My brother is extremely happy here, enjoys every minute. In his words 'I'm happy and content'. So, from my brother and our family, we would like to thank Rivermede for their care, and for dispelling any worries we might have had.

My mother arrived at Rivermede following a spell in hospital, we were immediately impressed with the professionalism of the staff and management. My mother was given excellent care and she settled into the home very quickly. She has made some new friends with ease, thanks to the effort of the highly friendly staff who look after her. In addition to this, she has enjoyed many activities and most recently a trip to Windsor which she loved. When we meet with her, she always says the food is tremendous, we cannot thank the staff enough for making mum so happy.

As General Manager at Rivermede Court, with over six years of dedicated service and a strong foundation in leadership, I am committed to fostering a compassionate, high-performing environment for both residents and staff. Having progressed from Deputy Manager to General Manager, I bring a hands-on understanding of our community’s needs and a deep-rooted passion for delivering exceptional care.

In my role, I lead with integrity, empathy, and a focus on continuous improvement. I work closely with my team to cultivate a culture of respect, open communication, and professional development, ensuring every team member feels supported and empowered. My approach is centred on building strong, trust-based relationships—with staff, residents, and their families—while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

My Experience

I moved to the UK from Luxembourg in 2006, starting a new life. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to working in the care industry, a field that I hold close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various care settings, but my primary focus has been in nursing care.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside incredible teams and support individuals from all walks of life. Each experience has reinforced my passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, whether it’s providing compassionate care, supporting families, or improving the well-being of those who rely on us.

With years of hands-on experience in the care industry, I remain deeply committed to my mission of making a difference and look forward to continuing my journey in this rewarding field.

About Me

I am someone who finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. When I’m not immersed in my professional pursuits, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book, enjoying the company of family and friends, or savouring a cup of coffee at a cosy café, watching the world go by.

What I Do

As Deputy Manager at Rivermede Court, I support the day-to-day running of the home and work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment. My focus is on maintaining high standards of care, supporting the team, and making sure every resident feels valued, respected, and truly at home. I oversee care delivery, quality assurance, and staff development, ensuring that our practice remains consistent, compassionate, and aligned with the values of dignity and respect.

My Experience

I bring 12 years of experience in the care industry, working across a range of roles that have strengthened my understanding of both the clinical and emotional needs of residents. Since joining Rivermede Court in 2022, I’ve become a key part of the leadership team, championing evidence-based practice, reflective learning, and open communication. I’m committed to ensuring that staff feel confident, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional care. Families place enormous trust in us, and I work hard to build transparent, reassuring relationships so they know their loved ones are in safe hands.

Originally from Canada, I first came to the UK while travelling with my sister — a trip that unexpectedly changed my life when I met my future husband in a local pub. That journey eventually led me into a career I’m deeply passionate about: supporting older adults to live with dignity, comfort, and purpose.

About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, tackling puzzles, and swimming — activities that help me unwind and recharge so I can bring my full energy and focus to my role each day. I’m someone who believes in kindness, patience, and the importance of creating a home-from-home environment for every resident at Rivermede Court.

As a Home Admissions Advisor at Rivermede Court, I guide families and prospective residents through every step of the care journey. From the very first enquiry to the day of move-in, my focus is on creating a smooth, respectful, and personalised experience. I take time to understand each person’s needs, preferences, and concerns, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and reassured throughout the process. I work closely with our clinical, hospitality, and administrative teams to make sure every resident’s transition is handled with dignity, sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to their well-being.

My Experience
I bring five years of experience in the care sector, where I’ve developed a deep understanding of the emotional and practical challenges families face when considering long-term care. My role has taught me the importance of clear communication, empathy, and trust — qualities that are essential when helping families make such significant decisions.

As the Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator at Rivermede Court, my role is to create a vibrant and inclusive activities programme that brings joy, stimulation, and connection to our residents. I design and lead a variety of events and experiences that support emotional, mental, and physical well-being—with fun being the most essential ingredient.

In addition to organising meaningful activities within the home, I also arrange regular outings to local attractions and community events. These excursions help residents maintain social connections and enjoy new experiences outside the home. Every activity I plan is centred on enriching daily life, encouraging engagement, and ensuring every resident feels valued and involved.

My Experience

Although I am a qualified hairdresser by trade, my true passion has always been working with people—and for the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to doing just that. My journey began as an au pair and evolved into roles such as teaching assistant and Cub Scout leader, where I developed a deep appreciation for nurturing wellbeing, creativity, and community spirit.

I’ve been part of the Rivermede Court team since 2019, bringing with me a wealth of experience in planning, organising, and leading engaging activities. I’m a strong believer in the power of community and have been actively involved in organising local events and fundraising efforts. My background helps me create meaningful, inclusive experiences for our residents that support not only their well-being but also their sense of connection and joy.

I was honoured to be awarded Activity Provider of the Year 2026 in a prestigious award organised by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA), open to care homes nationwide.

About Me

I’m a family-oriented person who loves spending quality time with my partner and our two wonderful children—whether we’re off on an adventure, exploring new places, or simply enjoying a cosy day at home playing board games (which I never shy away from—I love a good challenge!).

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, crafting, gardening, and staying active through my involvement in scouting. These hobbies reflect my creative, hands-on approach to life and naturally influence the energy and enthusiasm I bring to my role at Rivermede Court.
