Reserved after my Mother stayed at the home. The staff are very attentive and attend to all her needs.
Thank you so much, Mum is still highly talked about, and it's always great to hear our staff are doing their jobs well. We appreciate your review.
Lovely surroundings and room very clean. Food always good standard. Varied staff and carers are super kind and friendly - nothing is too much trouble and mum has had excellent care since she moved in. Lots of different activities on offer to appeal to everyone.

Staff very accommodating, food is plentiful and varied.
Fully recommend this care home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this fabulous review! We love having your relative here with us. #onefamily
Mum has been at Avon Valley for nearly 3 months. She was lonely and sad living alone in her bungalow and has made great progress in getting back to a happy cheerful person who's made lots of friends in both residents and staff since her move to Avon Valley. The staff there are wonderful caring people who treat the residents with kindness and care. There are lots of activities and events happening all the time and visitors are welcome to join in. The home is clean, safe and very well maintained, it's a shame I can only give a maximum 5-star rating it deserves a lot more. Thank you Avon Valley for giving us our old mum back.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review, we are so pleased with how Mum has settled! She is a pleasure to have here at Avon Valley.
Very clean place. Very good staff, all very professional.
Thank for you the lovely review, we really appreciate it.
The room was nice, big and comfortable. The staff all were friendly. Avon Valley was clean and I felt safe. It was good value for money. Being there enabled my family to know that I would be safe and looked after. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, it was a pleasure having you stay with us. We hope to see you at our 5th Anniversary party!
The most outstanding care home I have ever come across. Every single member of staff at Avon Valley is amazing. The care they give is unbelievable. Treating the residents like their own. The food is brilliant - so varied. The rooms and decor are just lovely. It’s like a hotel. I love this place so much, as does my Nan.
What a lovely review! We always strive to be the best we can be so to receive a review like this means we are doing just that. Thank you so much.
The activities were brilliant and my Nan had her hair done, she looked like a new lady after!
A lovely modern place the rooms are lovely and big and you get plenty of tea, coffee, water, and cake throughout the day.
My Nan enjoyed herself I came to visit and enjoyed the staff and Nan's company.
A place to enjoy and chill and meet new people in different situations.
Very clean as well!
Thanks for the lovely review; we are so glad Nan enjoyed her time with us - it was a pleasure to have her stay with us at Avon Valley!
All the staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble. They all know my Mum (who likes a good chat) and give her encouragement to mobilise and be as independent as possible, but are happy to help or supervise when needed.
The activity ladies are always thinking of new and topically interesting things for all the residents to enjoy, along with the favourites of curling, quizzes and skittles.
This is a home which really cares about its residents and it is always a pleasure to visit.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. We really do appreciate it and it's a pleasure to have Mum here with us.
I find a very caring staff, spotless in cleanliness and good activities. The food is varied and very good.
Thank you so much for your review. It was lovely having you stay and happy that we were able to meet your expectations.
Dad is very happy in the home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it is really good to have this feedback to our team.
This is a good care home and my father-in-law is happy here.
Beautiful home and lovely staff. Bedrooms are large and spacious, with a lovely private bathroom. The food looks delicious, and they have plenty of food choices. Lovely outdoor space/garden.
Thank you for leaving a lovely review; we really do appreciate it
Every time I visited her, I was impressed with how kind the staff were and how well they treated her.
Even now she's gone, I follow the home on Facebook, and it's really lovely to see all the activities that are arranged for residents.
Thank you all for the love and care you provide every day.
You are truly amazing, and it's a really special place!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a nice review. We are so pleased that you still follow us on Facebook.
My mum has been living in Avon Valley now for 14 months. What do we love about it? The amazing staff, the residents, the chats, the coffee and cake, the beautiful hotel-like surroundings, the cleanliness, the fun, the laughter, the support to the families, the wonderful activities, the garden, just everything. Avon Valley really is a wonderful, caring community of people who go above and beyond. Thank you so much to each and every one of you for all you do to make Avon Valley a home.
Wow, what a lovely review! Thanks for your continued support always.
My mum has been in Avon Valley Care Home for nearly four months now and is finding it difficult to accept that she can't live independently anymore. The staff are incredibly patient with my mum, as she's always had a challenging personality which has steadily worsened as her dementia progresses. I think that it's a lovely home with lots of things to do and access to beautiful gardens when the weather permits, it's somewhere I would be happy to go myself if I can't look after myself anymore in the future. My review is for the time she has lived in Avon Valley rather than a specific month.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is much appreciated.
Dad has been at Avon Valley Care Home since November 2019. The home has always been kept clean and tidy and the staff have always been very accommodating. However, my only negative on what has been a mostly positive experience, is that I have asked various staff to keep an eye and prompt Dad about his general hygiene, on several occasions recently as he doesn’t appear to have been changing his clothes and keeps the same things on for weeks at a time. But, I haven’t noticed much change over the last month or so when visiting him.
Thank you for your review, I want to reassure you that this has been addressed with your father and as discussed with you yesterday, we now have an agreed set of actions to work with going forward.

Meet the Team (1)

Hello, my name is Alyson, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Avon Valley.
Joining and commissioning Avon Valley Care Home in 2019 was a dream come true. I have successful developed my staff into good ways of practice and built a team that are proud and respectful of what they do. My passion for this home comes not only from my 40 years’ experience within the healthcare sector but also from my own personal life. I’ve had a very personal experience of a loved one needing dementia care, and I understand the emotional turmoil and difficulty in letting go or trusting someone else to care for that person.
Prior to becoming a Home Manager, my previous roles within the sector have been Residential Service Officer, Care Assistant, Nurse Auxiliary and Deputy Manager. I have also developed my skills by achieving qualifications such as NVQ Level 2, 3 and 4, and also ILM.
Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. Seeing my residents smile each day brings the motivation to perform my role at the highest level.
I would best describe myself as someone who is friendly and approachable. If you would ever need assistance with anything, I will always be on hand to help. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, gardening and I can’t wait to be able to travel once restrictions are eased.
Avery Healthcare, owners of Avon Valley, strives to be the best in care, providing high-quality services whilst offering its best support to its staff member. Our home is truly unique as we offer luxurious facilities such as our beautifully landscaped gardens and cinema room. Not to forget about the stunning views of Lansdown.
I look forward to welcoming you into our loving care community.
