Avon Valley opened in May 2019 and a warm welcome awaits for residents from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas. The home is situated in Kingswood, just off the A420 and close to the A4174 roundabout. Avon Valley offers a high standard of residential, dementia and respite care.

The home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.

My brother was in a bad state prior to coming to Avon Valley but since he has come here, thanks to all the staff and carers, he has changed completely. He is happy and no longer lonely and he is enjoying life again.

Everybody is very helpful and caring. The home always looks clean and the decoration is immaculate. They put a lot of hard work and effort into the events they put on. Everybody is so cheerful, happy and smiling. It's a lovely place to come and visit. It's a wonderful place to visit, my dad says I made

Avon Valley is a great care home. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The care Mum receives is excellent. She is very well looked after. The staff call if there is a problem or if Mum is unwell. Mum loves it and has made some lovely friends. It is really nice to see Mum joining in with the
activities. It was a really difficult decision to make putting Mum in a care home but Avon Valley made this so much easier as a family so thank you.

Since coming to Avon Valley my brother-in-law is a changed person, for the better. The staff here, each and every one are always smiling and helpful in any way possible. My nan moved into this home in December last year after my grandad passed away and the family were struggling to give Nan the best care. Avon Valley is such a lovely home, always so clean and kept on top of. The staff are amazing and always so friendly and welcoming. It's lovely knowing that Nan is

My wife's uncle was resident at Avon Valley Care home for a fifteen month period, until his recent passing in May 2023. The care and attention he received from all members of the team was exemplary throughout his stay and we could not have asked for more!
The facilities at Avon Valley are modern and
absolutely excellent. Although our uncle didn't partake in many activities, there was a very proactive and well constructed programme of things for the residents to do outside of their normal day to day activities. The care team, administration staff and domestic staff are all very caring and competent and everyone is very friendly and helpful.
What more could you ask for, just an excellent and well run care home. It's the best care home I've experienced! Thank You.

My mum was here for just under two years until she passed away.
It's not an exaggeration when I say this care home is nothing short of amazing.
It is always kept immaculately clean, everything is modern but most of all the staff are super caring and have genuine enthusiasm.
It's important to note
this care home very regularly has little events, games and activities for the residents, which is fantastic as it keeps them engaged. It's clear to me resident's well-being is a priority here and they always seem happy.
To me, this care home feels a bit like a luxury hotel.
All care homes are expensive but this is no more expensive than any other, however, the standard is much higher (I looked at six other possibilities when choosing). If you want a high standard of care for your loved one I couldn't recommend Avon Valley Care Home enough.

My mum was here for the last 2 years of her life, it is a lovely little community, unfortunately we had Covid lockdown, the staff were fantastic, they went out of their way through very difficult times to make sure the residents and families were able to communicate with each other, the staff were kind
and reassuring. Mum was happy there, although recently widowed, she enjoyed meeting up with her little group of friends for coffee and cake, cinema, Christmas lunch, lots of parties, I would recommend Avon Valley.

My mother has been a resident at Avon Valley for 12 months now and my family can't thank them enough for the wonderful care the staff have given her. We are always kept up to date with anything that mum has been doing through Facebook and email and always feel the staff have time to talk to us. Over
the last year, it has been lovely to get to know the staff and see how caring and understanding they are to mum's needs. From walking in through the front door we are always greeted by happy familiar faces and it's lovely to talk to the staff and also get to know some of the other residents. Unfortunately, my Father has been unwell since February and was unable to stay in his own home. We did not hesitate in moving Dad into Avon valley in October and being able to reunite Mum and Dad meant so much for our family. Dad had different care needs and wanted to be more independent than mum and we are happy that this has been the case. We can't thank them enough and would highly recommend.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

Hello, my name is Alyson, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Avon Valley.


Joining and commissioning Avon Valley Care Home in 2019 was a dream come true. I have successful developed my staff into good ways of practice and built a team that are proud and respectful of what they do. My passion for this home comes not only from my 40 years’ experience within the healthcare sector but also from my own personal life. I’ve had a very personal experience of a loved one needing dementia care, and I understand the emotional turmoil and difficulty in letting go or trusting someone else to care for that person.


Prior to becoming a Home Manager, my previous roles within the sector have been Residential Service Officer, Care Assistant, Nurse Auxiliary and Deputy Manager. I have also developed my skills by achieving qualifications such as NVQ Level 2, 3 and 4, and also ILM.


Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. Seeing my residents smile each day brings the motivation to perform my role at the highest level.


I would best describe myself as someone who is friendly and approachable. If you would ever need assistance with anything, I will always be on hand to help. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, gardening and I can’t wait to be able to travel once restrictions are eased.
