Avon Valley opened in May 2019 and a warm welcome awaits for residents from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas. The home is situated in Kingswood, just off the A420 and close to the A4174 roundabout. Avon Valley offers a high standard of residential, dementia and respite care.

The home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.

With high-quality en-suite accommodation, beautiful lounge, dining rooms, and communal areas, there is plenty of room to enjoy leisure activities delivered through the home's social calendar.

I find the staff very friendly and helpful and they look after my mother very well. Mum is very happy here and it's the sort of place I hope I will find myself in one day. It's a lovely building and gardens, all in all, it's a fantastic place to be in. Thank you to all the staff.

My mum moved in 5 months ago and has received the best care, love, and attention we could have hoped for. Not only is the care 1st class but the environment is absolutely amazing! It has been a difficult time for everyone over the last year, however, the whole team have done a difficult job with care, love and understanding. My mum receives the best of care delivered with love by each member of the team. Avon Valley has not only looked after my mum but always extend their care
to the whole family. Over the Covid pandemic, even when it hit the home, I never doubted for one second that the standards had dropped or that my mum was being given the best care I and my brother could ask for. Thank you.

All staff have been brilliant during the lockdown. The home is clean, tidy and a happy atmosphere. Mum was well cared for when she was unwell. Sometimes communication could be better. The only negative has been the issues with the activities after two people left there was a lot of new staff that were
not suitable for the role.

Arranging for friends of ours to be two of the first residents at Avon Valley was a welcome relief in terms of help given and the quality of the Avon Valley Care Home. We are so glad we chose Avon Valley. We could highly recommend it! Having looked at a few care homes for my father, I know this place was perfect! The moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed by smiles and the most caring, kind and helpful staff. My father-in-law is very shy, but the staff
have encouraged him to join in activities, and he is really happy. The rooms are lovely, and the food is great.

All staff have been exceptional. My Dad moved into the home on New Year's Eve and sadly caught coronavirus two weeks later. The staff were fantastic with his care, keeping me informed and looking after him as if he was their own relative. My Dad is well now and always tells me he is being well looked
after. His keyworker even went to the shops to buy him chocolate.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2019

Hello, my name is Alyson, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Avon Valley.


Joining and commissioning Avon Valley Care Home in 2019 was a dream come true. I have successful developed my staff into good ways of practice and built a team that are proud and respectful of what they do. My passion for this home comes not only from my 40 years’ experience within the healthcare sector but also from my own personal life. I’ve had a very personal experience of a loved one needing dementia care, and I understand the emotional turmoil and difficulty in letting go or trusting someone else to care for that person.


Prior to becoming a Home Manager, my previous roles within the sector have been Residential Service Officer, Care Assistant, Nurse Auxiliary and Deputy Manager. I have also developed my skills by achieving qualifications such as NVQ Level 2, 3 and 4, and also ILM.


Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. Seeing my residents smile each day brings the motivation to perform my role at the highest level.


I would best describe myself as someone who is friendly and approachable. If you would ever need assistance with anything, I will always be on hand to help. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, gardening and I can’t wait to be able to travel once restrictions are eased.
