Every member of staff goes above and beyond in every way, you can tell that they want to make a positive difference. I can’t thank them enough for everything. I’m fully confident that this is the best care home possible.

My sister was quite young when she was diagnosed with dementia. I wanted to find a care home for her that would give her as much independence as possible and to be stimulated and have the opportunity to socialise. Willaston has been ideal for her care. The staff are friendly and do seem to care for all of the residents and I’m convinced that my sister gets the best care possible for her.

I care for my husband who has dementia and this was the first time we had tried somewhere for respite. The place is very well laid out and welcoming. It looks like a lovely hotel which has really helped my husband accept it. The household design is perfect as the lounge and kitchen area is more like home. The carers are lovely, so caring and there is plenty of staff. The outdoor area is lovely and the Woodland walk with the kids play area is great. He enjoyed the food and settled surprisingly well. It is a great relief and we will definitely use Richmond Villages Willaston again.

I am delighted that Mum is at Richmond Villages. She is receiving the very best care (second to none) from the wonderful care/nursing staff, who are very passionate about their role and the care they provide; they consistently go the "extra mile". It is clear to see that residents are treated as their family and given lots of love/attention and TLC.
The environment is beautiful. Mum actually thinks she's on holiday in Torguay; she loves being here and has improved significantly.
Management are always readily available to support relatives and are very professional, efficient and welcoming.

Thank you for everything!

My husband is now in Richmond Villages Willaston dementia home on the nursing floor. He has been received with love and care. I never expected the level of expertise shown by all parts of the team that look after him. He is safe, happy and content in an environment which is warm, exciting and full of love. Although I wish I could have him at home, this is a place which is the nearest he can get due to his condition.

My mother has been in Richmond Villages Willaston over 18 months now and I can do nothing but praise the set up and especially the staff.
For the first 10 months, my mother lived in Household One. The household set up is incredible with units of six bedrooms and a communal lounge with access to outside and a kitchen. Each bedroom is ensuite with its own patio area and of a very high quality. There are six of these households. There is a feeling of friendship and a lot of love and warmth. The staff are exceptional and very caring, nothing is too much trouble. Independent living is encouraged.
9 months ago my mother moved onto the care floor into a similar ensuite room, due to mobility issues. There are more staff with a greater variety of skills, including nursing staff. The care is exceptional and if anything does go wrong it is always rectified quickly.
There is also a complete team of activities staff arranging all sort of entertainment every day.

My mother being here puts my mind at rest.

Overall Experience

Although the overall experience of my husband's respite care here was very positive (caring and respectful staff, good conditions and excellent food) there did arise a care issue, which I felt the home needed to address. Just prior to his stay, my husband broke his glasses and therefore needed a new pair (at a cost of £547). These glasses were lost (permanently) within a short time of his arrival at the home and he started wearing someone else's prescription, which were then assumed by the staff to be his own. For a dementia patient, whose motor visual capacity are severely compromised anyway, this was not good. I raised the issue with the staff and am pleased to say that they are now going to review their practice of keeping a patients' glasses safe.

What a place, pretty much the best setup ever. Lovely residents! The staff are so very kind, compassionate and an absolute joy to be with. My parent's care has been exemplary. Richmond has been an absolute lifeline and nothing is too much trouble. The potential for this 'model' is endless. A very new and steady setup, very exciting indeed. Keep going Richmond and all the staff, you are doing a great job, fantastic, 5 stars.

A residential care home is more than the building and the accommodation. Its staff are what makes it. The receptionists are welcoming friendly and very helpful - even making coffee for me when I visit my friend. The care staff are professional, caring and helpful. I would be happy to live here if the need arises.

My husband had two weeks' respite to give me a break. He has Parkinsons'/Dementia. He settled very well and was more than happy with the care he received. The food was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Both to my husband and myself. I would not hesitate to recommend Richmond Villages.

Two main points: Cleanliness and households are poor! I understand from staff no longer are there cleaners? They are busy caring for vulnerable people not cleaning as well. Fees increased I understand that but at over £1300 per week? BUPA should have proper facilities - especially with covid! Are the CQC aware of this cut?

Also, meals are not prepared in house? Not part of the original concept for residents to maintain their ability to help out - 'a home from home?'

Mum has been in the care home for four months now. She settled well, and the home and carer have a relaxed atmosphere while still caring for Mum's needs. She is treated with dignity and respect and allowed to make her own choices/decisions while remaining safe and well.

Richmond Village were amazing at providing first class end of life care to my dad who suffered from Alzheimer's.

From the cleaners to the caterers to the care staff and nurses, nothing was too much trouble. They were very caring and compassionate at a difficult time.

After enquiring at several homes I found Richmond Villages gave me the answers I needed. The manager gave me all the information which convinced me they could provide all the care that my husband needed for his many illnesses. He was very apprehensive about leaving home but I needn't have worried. He settled well in the beautiful surroundings and with very caring staff. Would love to go back thanks to all the team. A little expensive!
