Welcome to Figbury Lodge. At Figbury Lodge the team aim to run a service that delivers the type of care that they would want for their own loved ones.

The service manager, team leaders, administrators, support workers, domestics, cooks, activities champions and maintenance operatives ensure that they have considered all angles of making Figbury Lodge as much of a home as possible.

Figbury Lodge, in Canford Heath, will provide 50 care and 10 nursing beds, alongside 20 intermediate beds – a bridge between hospital and home – 10 of which will also be nursing.

Four accommodation wings incorporating various communal areas.

- 80 beds with private bathroom facilities.
- A multi-purpose room for activities and events.
- Separate dining rooms, lounges and quiet spaces.
- Large fully landscaped courtyard garden with outdoor seating and a seaside themed garden area
- Pitch and putt, a hobby shed and raised planting beds.
- a community hub and facilities which will be accessible to members of the wider community.
- A hairdressing salon and shop.
- A giant chessboard.

The home will offer enhanced support and facilities to Poole residents, including rehabilitation with clients accepted on a referral basis by the NHS and the Council.

Overall, Figbury Lodge is good, and the staff are very caring, kind and helpful, but unfortunately, as with hospitals/care homes, there is a shortage of staff, especially during meal times and staff breaks. My husband often had to wait longer than he should for repositioning, pad changes and being put
back to bed after sitting in a recliner. There seemed to be a lack of communication between therapists and carers. There should be a more viable and better mechanism for sharing the key factors, i.e. whether diabetic, how often the patient needs repositioning and advice regarding repositioning and how to use repositioning aids, i.e. wedges and supports. If repositioning is 2 hourly, it should be 2 hours and not 3 or 4.
The carpet was extremely stained and dirty in the room.

My Nan recently had a stayed at figbury lodge for 8weeks. she often told us when we went to visit that the carers were good to her and some staff felt like family and she enjoyed having a good laugh each day with them. She was very anxious when she first arrived at figbury but she soon settled. Would
highly recommend this care home.

My mum Sheila has just spent 10 weeks in Figbury and we as a family have been very pleased with all the care she has received , she was very happy in there once she settled in , it is very clean and she was happy with the food . A special thankyou to nurse Ray who went out of his way to help her

Lives at figbury on a permanent basis this is his home where he thoroughly enjoys taking part in activities.His taste of food is catered for at all times.On every visit he appears happy with the care he is receiving.

As my Mum has only been in Figbury Lodge a few days, this is my first impression. Friendly, helpful staff and very clean throughout. The lovely large, bright room with on suite wet room makes my mum's mobility issues so much easier. The gorgeous enclosed grounds are a bonus for the residents.

Such a lovely care home, very clean and modern. The staff are amazing and always happy to answer questions. There is a hairdresser here on Tuesdays and chiropodist on Thursdays once a fortnight lots of activities going on and a car park outside the home.

On the whole, we are satisfied with the service. My husband is a difficult resident mainly to due his frustration due to lack of mobility. We had had a number of issues, but now mainly been resolved.

We could not ask for a better care home for my mother during her last few months. All the staff, without exception, were not only caring but also polite, helpful and accommodating. The transition from hospital to care home and onward to the funeral directors was seamless and carried out with respect

Sadly my husband wasn't at Figbury Lodge for very long as he passed away in May, but for the few months he was there he was treated with dignity and respect and given the very best care. On my husband's passing, I felt I was supported by the whole team at such a sad time. I go back and visit now and

My mum was admitted as a resident at Figbury Lodge to enable my husband and I some respite whilst taking a break. I cannot thank Figbury Lodge enough for the care my mum received during this period. The staff I feel went over and above to ensure mum's anxiety about being placed here (or any home) was
negated by their care, respect, and humility. Mum's last words whilst saying goodbye to the other residents were "see you again". I think this says and speaks for itself of both her and our experience.

Some of the staff really cared, while others I felt were just doing a job. When my mum didn't eat I fed her, which is what a staff member could do as I can't visit very often. The rooms are lovely. I had to wash her drinking glass as it was dirty and she had the same one for several days.

During the evening meal get-together, everyone was really friendly and made my nan smile and laugh. The carers seem to really get to know who they are looking after and make them feel at home.
