Absolutely delighted at the standard of care my mother-in-law has received. Beautiful, clean facilities. Extremely helpful staff. The transformation in her overall mental demeanour and physical capabilities has been lovely to witness. Highly recommend to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.

Now that we are out of lockdown, I have had the opportunity to get to know the staff and carers who look after my mum. Everyone is so kind and is a second family to Mum.

This is the first time in 2 years that my mum has felt settled and safe. The staff here are amazing, always helpful and kind and go the extra mile to ensure that everyone here is looked after perfectly. My mum has only been here a short time but has improved so much after her second stroke and this

Birkdale Tower Lodge is a beautiful home. It is very clean, and the staff are lovely. Mum's room is very spacious and again - very clean. Although Mum doesn't always take part - there are lots of well-organised activities for the residents, which seem very well organised. Mum seem happy with the food
and laundry service, although has had some items mislaid.

The care home looks fabulous. The standard and facilities are excellent including a cinema room complete with popcorn and a bar!
If the home was full and the staff members were sufficient things would be great. The newness of the home means numbers are low and hence everything is a bit frantic at times,
but my parents are being well looked after all the same and we are very happy. The future looks even better.

I had been visiting an older lady and long term family friend for around 11 years primarily looking after her financial affairs. When she lost her ability to move from her chair around the start of January it became clear that significant changes would be needed to provide continuing homecare. These
could only take place after awaiting a Social Services related Occupational Therapy Assessment, required by all care providers because of their insurance needs. At the same time, it became clear that all the care home places with mobility capability in Southport were unavailable because of constraints imposed by the local Public Health office. This posed an almost insoluble problem of arranging for immediate day to day care. With the proactive support of the manager, Birkdale Tower Lodge came to the rescue and with minimum delay organised for my friend to be admitted for rehabilitation care. The 4-week stay was a great success with excellent care provided by friendly competent staff.

Home well maintained and very comfortable, excellent catering and well planned, tasty menus, with lots of choices. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, residents areas are kept spotlessly clean. Outside garden areas encourage residents to spend a large amount of their time enjoying the summer
environment with ample shaded areas. Overall everything was meticulously planned and implemented.

Job Title: Registered Manager

I am so proud to be the manager of Birkdale Tower. I’m extremely passionate about providing our 5-star luxury experience to some of the most vulnerable in our society, because they truly deserve the best and are just in need of help.


My favourite part of my role is getting to know each individual and understanding what approaches work best for their unique needs. I take real pride in creating positive, person-centred experiences that make a genuine difference in people’s daily lives. I love coming to work, not knowing what new challenges await and what new people I can meet.


I've worked in care all my working life since I was 18, but it was sort of a family business; my mother and her mother were care home managers, so it was an extremely natural decision. I worked hard, climbing the ladder and achieved my first managerial role when I was 29, achieving my first goal with CQC at the same age. I think what makes a good manager in our industry is someone who sets the tone for compassion and quality. It’s about supporting staff so they can provide the best quality of care, fostering teamwork, and always leading with empathy and understanding.


Outside of work, I’m a proud dad of 2 and a bit of an adventurer. I love nothing more than to don my walking boots and go to the Lakes or Wales. If I can drag along my daughters Bella and Gracie, then even better!

As a Client Service Advisor for Sandstone Care, I have the privilege of helping people who are seeking care for a loved one—or even for themselves. From personal experience, I understand that finding the right home, where your loved one feels supported and well cared for, can sometimes be daunting. Many people feel overwhelmed when navigating the social care system, particularly when it comes to finances and care needs.


My role allows me to support you by ensuring you have all the information you need regarding the facilities available in the home, room fees, financial assistance that may be offered by the local authority, and details about the category of care. I can also arrange visits to the home so you can experience firsthand the warm and welcoming atmosphere we strive to provide in all of our homes.


I absolutely love my role, and over the past two and a half years, I have had the pleasure of supporting many individuals and families in finding their new forever home. I look forward to continuing my work with Sandstone Care and helping more people on their care journey.
