Dad has settled really well here at Birkdale Tower. He's interacting and making crafts etc. He likes his room with all his belongings around him. Dad also loves the food here at Birkdale, as it's freshly cooked. He gets on well with the staff, and they are all friendly.

When visiting, I always encounter friendly and helpful staff who know who I am. They keep me updated on anything relevant, so I can respond if required.

As Dad gas decided to stay, the staff have been extremely helpful in personalising his room or seeking to understand what they can do to help him settle and be happy. I feel confident that Dad is well looked after and in the care of friendly and experienced staff.

Generally very good, although I'd prefer more regular staff resource who is familiar to Mum. In recent months staff seem to rotate with other lodges.

Lovely facility with beautiful furnishings, well laid out and very spacious. Wonderful staff who are friendly and appear very competent in their roles. I have real piece of mind knowing that my mother is being so well looked after and having excellent care 24/7.

I would thoroughly recommend Birkdale Tower Lodge.

My mother had an accident with a hot mug of tea. The staff noticed and took action immediately - contacting me to attend in case she required hospital treatment, showering Mum and applying dressings and contacting 999. Mum could only praise their actions. Fortunately, Mum was fine and was able to stay at the home.

My dad has settled in superbly at Birkdale Tower Lodge. The staff are so friendly. The food is excellent. When they have a band/music, my dad is first up dancing. He used to play golf, so loves the little putting green outside.

Brought my mother in for 2 weeks. We first met the manager on our welcome and automatically, I knew that my mam was going to love this place! The manager was so caring and welcoming just lovely like all the other carers. I really cannot say anything bad about this lovely place then say thank you so much.

I needed respite care for my parents. It was very last minute! The respite was organised on the same day as the initial contact, and my parents moved in the next day! From the beginning to end, we could not fault a single thing! every member of staff was fabulous, friendly, professional and couldn't do enough for you. The standard of the rooms, bistro and lounges are outstanding. But more important, is the care my parents received was impeccable. I really felt they were in safe hands. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is the first time in 2 years that my mum has felt settled and safe. Birkdale Tower Lodge is a beautiful home. It is very clean, and the staff are lovely. Mum's room is very spacious and again - very clean. Although Mum doesn't always take part - there are lots of well-organised activities for the residents, which seem very well organised. Mum seem happy with the food and laundry service, although has had some items mislaid.

Liam KenwrightJob Title:Registered Manager

I am so proud to be the manager of Birkdale Tower. I’m extremely passionate about providing our 5-star luxury experience to some of the most vulnerable in our society, because they truly deserve the best and are just in need of help.

My favourite part of my role is getting to know each individual and understanding what approaches work best for their unique needs. I take real pride in creating positive, person-centred experiences that make a genuine difference in people’s daily lives. I love coming to work, not knowing what new challenges await and what new people I can meet.

I've worked in care all my working life since I was 18, but it was sort of a family business; my mother and her mother were care home managers, so it was an extremely natural decision. I worked hard, climbing the ladder and achieved my first managerial role when I was 29, achieving my first goal with CQC at the same age. I think what makes a good manager in our industry is someone who sets the tone for compassion and quality. It’s about supporting staff so they can provide the best quality of care, fostering teamwork, and always leading with empathy and understanding.

Outside of work, I’m a proud dad of 2 and a bit of an adventurer. I love nothing more than to don my walking boots and go to the Lakes or Wales. If I can drag along my daughters Bella and Gracie, then even better!
