Birkdale Tower Lodge is dad's second care home in a year and he's so much happier at Birkdale Tower Lodge than he was in his previous care home. The difference in him is incredible and I can rest easy knowing he is happy and safe. He settled in very quickly and made himself very much at home which I
am very relieved about. The staff are friendly and appear happy (genuinely) in their work. I cannot fault Birkdale Tower Lodge or anyone who works there.

All the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The facilities at the Lodge are of a very high standard. Mum enjoys the food even if the portions are a little too big (not a bad thing really). Whilst mum doesn't always join in the activities she likes that they are available. It's a shame she is
here in the winter as she would lie to get out in the garden too. The team have also liaised well with mum's Gp to ensure medication issues are quickly addressed. Overall, the Lodge team have made everything easy forum to help her prepare for a forthcoming operation (hopefully she will be back for a post-op respite stay as well).

Dad's comfortable, happy as long as he's happy were are happy.
Senior staff are fantastic and go above and beyond on many occasions. Food dad loves and loves all the staff he comes into contact with. Very well run care home.

My Mum moved into Birkdale Tower Lodge in early Summer this year. Despite all the disruption in her life over the last year (leaving her house of 45 years and her dementia condition), all the team at Birkdale Tower Lodge have worked extremely hard to make her life as settled as possible and well-cared
for. I have been impressed with the individual attention the staff have given my Mum and all the encouragement to take part in the entertainment and activities.

My Mum moved to Birkdale Tower Lodge early in 2020, at the start of the Covid pandemic. Since moving there, she has thrived. She has multiple physical health issues along with memory difficulties and the staff have been absolutely brilliant, keeping her well and safe. When she has been unwell, the
staff have ensured she receives prompt medical attention and ensured a positive outcome for her.
When she first arrived at Birkdale Tower Lodge, she was reluctant to get involved in activities, preferring to keep to her room, but the staff have been able to encourage her to start participating in various activities using her needlework skills and she now enjoys socialising with the staff and other residents.
I have been most impressed with the home’s response to the Covid pandemic and the way in which they have kept their staff and residents safe. We, as a family, are all impressed with their handling of this terrible virus and never once have we been concerned for Mum’s safety.

From entering the home 2 years ago, pre -Covid.....Mum has received the utmost care and attention to her health, safety and wellbeing. She has thrived at Birkdale Tower Lodge, both physically, mentally and socially. It has been the perfect balance of quiet attentive care and encouraged independence
which she values so much.
During the pandemic their stringent protocols meant that we never once felt Mum was at risk, they were faster than most to respond to the initial guidelines back in March 2020- in fact, they were proactive and started the process in the February before the care home tragedy situation had unfolded.
It is the best decision so far that my family and I have taken, to entrust my Mum's healthcare and happiness to Birkdale Tower Lodge.

Very understaffed so unfortunately, residents don't get the attention required. Some of the care staff and one of the receptionists are rude. The dignity of residents is not preserved or respected as it should as witnessed on several occasions and staff does not take this seriously. Good points are
the food is nice and the resident's rooms. Not much effort is put into encouraging residents to engage in activities. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Both I and my husband are extremely happy with the care and love that is shown to my sister. We cannot comment on the activities as it isn't something we have ever discussed. Also, we do not know what the fees are. Of course, I worry about my sister but feel that she could not be in a better place.
She is living in an excellent environment.
P.S All the staff are fantastic.

Having now moved Mum to another care home at half the price, we've realised that Birkdale Tower Lodge is not worth the extortionate fees that they charge.
The time Mum spent there, 9 months, she was well cared for and well looked after, but the management and finance department leaves a lot to be desired!
I understand that they now have a new manager in place, so this will hopefully improve things and the staff might now "get along" better than when Mum was there. I know that these things are supposed to be kept behind closed doors, but Mum was quick to notice when the staff are unhappy at work.
The food was a little too fancy for Mum and being 94 years old, she would have liked more simple cooked meals, but I realise this is a personal choice - but it comes to something when the chef is off and one of the staff have to go to the local chippy to get everyone fish and chips!
Despite numerous emails, we have now waited 10 weeks for them to refund Mums spending money to her - not acceptable.

Luxury home. Mum is safe and secure. The staff are caring and great food. The management team are very professional. So happy that mum is settled. It's a relief that I don't have to worry about her. It's the best home in Birkdale and it's golf-themed, mum likes the little pitch and putt they've got
outside.

My good friend moved into Birkdale Tower Lodge in May. I must say how happy she is. Since moving into the home she has made friends and has the much-needed help and support that she needed when she needs it. The home is beautiful and maintains very high standards. The food is delicious and my friend
enjoys it very much. There are activities to keep people busy however my friend isn't one for always joining in. Staff are very friendly and I can hear them talk with her when we are on the phone.

Mum absolutely loves living at Birkdale Tower Lodge. Every time I speak with her she is happy and full of praise for all the wonderful staff. Even though it has been difficult this year with visiting restrictions and lockdown, staff have kept me informed of what's going on we had video calls and now
visit in a dedicated visitors room which is fantastic.

Having worked in the care sector now for more than 15 years in various roles, the most fulfilling role has to be working with prospective residents, their family or their representatives. I find it most rewarding in helping to find the most suitable care home that will endeavour to meet the care needs of each new resident, along with show casing and promoting the many superb facilities each individual care home has to offer.


My main duty is just by being there every step of the way, helping to support families to take away some of the stress of trying to find the right care home for their loved one.


In my spare time I love nothing more than walking my cockapoo, travelling to different counties within the UK and visiting different countries to sample the different restaurants, sightseeing and experiencing different cultures, but most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.
