Review from Beverly C (Partner of Resident) published on 7 December 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Brook House is beautifully bright and has a cosy feel. All the furniture and fittings are of a very high standard and having enjoyed several lunches with my partner I can confirm how good the food is. My partner is obviously so much happier and settled and I have stopped having sleepless nights worrying about him. All the staff are very friendly and don’t rush him when he is trying to explain something. He has a new ‘best friend’ who shares his taste in music. The precautions taken against Covid when I visit are very thorough which is reassuring. I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone.

Brook House has made such a difference to my mum. She has been really well looked after and cared for. The staff take a strong personal interest in mum and she has come to treat them like friends and family. The home is really well set up and has high standards in all areas. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful home. I visited my lovely friend and I had a lovely welcome to the home and was reassured that all precautions had been taken to ensure we were safe from any threat of Covid. Fabulous hospitality and I could clearly see how much happier my friend is in a home enjoying the fun activities and delicious food.

I am originally from South Africa and bring 34 years of experience in the care sector, plus stories from working between South Africa and the UK!

I'm a 1992 graduate with a Master's, PhD, and Health & Social Care qualification. I am no stranger to hard work, though I do try to sneak home to South Africa every year!

Anyone thinking of joining the care sector must be passionate about it, and you must love it. Knowledge itself isn’t enough; it’s the mix of knowledge and love that makes a great care worker.

When I'm not leading Brook House with its person-centred approach and putting residents’ needs first, you’ll find me caring for my 300-litre tropical fish tank, where my favourites are angel fish, capturing landscapes through my camera lens, or planning my next adventure (Thailand and Mexico are firm favourites).

A fan of South African food, athletics, tennis, and a good night out with friends, I believe in going the extra mile, both in life and in care.
