My father-in-law was a resident for around one year. The staff are wonderful, and so caring, and they go above and beyond. Unfortunately, my father-in-law passed away last week, but the care and support he and all of the family received were incredible. Absolutely amazing. Thank you to all of the staff
for everything.

We are extremely thankful to the caring staff at Sutton Park Grange for the level of support and care my parents got during their four weeks there. The care home and its facilities are of the highest quality. The food was delicious, and there was enough of variety. The daily entertainment was fantastic,
and the entire staff was all very friendly and helpful. Many thanks.

Mom has come on leaps and bounds since she has been here. We know in our hearts we made the right choice that was best for her. If she has been ill, we have always been contacted, nothing is ever too much. Mom has made lots of friends while here and she loves taking part in all activities and she loves
to update us when we visit. We cannot thank the staff enough for what they do for Mom.

Sutton Park Grange is a fresh, impressive-looking home that resembles a 5-star hotel. It is clean, with a very pleasant environment and it is run by attentive, caring and respectful staff. My father stayed there for respite care for a week in mid-November 2023 and he as well as the family felt that
he was in good hands. When my time comes, I would certainly be looking to stay at this place too.

My mother moved into Sutton Park Grange this summer and was made to feel both welcomed and cared for. The staff were attentive and thoughtful and sensitively handled her transfer to the dementia floor after a few weeks. Mum has had ups and downs and is now more settled. She has participated increasingly
with the activities on offer. As frequent visitors, my brother and I, as well as our families have been made welcome. We are pleased with Sutton Park Grange as a home for Mum.

My mother has been a resident at Sutton Park Grange since July 2021. The current leadership is very responsive, kind, understanding and highly effective.
As my mother's dementia has depended, there is great care and support both for her and me. Mum doesn't eat well and struggles with personal care,
but the carers continue to try to encourage her.
Reply from Karen Handley, Home Admissions Advisor at Sutton Park GrangeThank you for taking the time to write a review and for your appreciation of the care and support we provide to both residents and their families, as this is something we aim to achieve with the relationship-centred care we always strive to deliver.

Mum moved into Sutton Park Grange at the very end of July and the staff were so kind and helpful to me in assisting me to make the decision on her behalf. The admissions manager took the time to meet with me, to talk me through exactly how the moving-in day would run and what I needed to do beforehand.
When we arrived, everyone came to meet Mum and to introduce themselves, her room was ready, her clothes labelled and hung in her wardrobe. Wonderful!

My mother has been with Sutton Park Grange for the last five days after being in hospital for five weeks. What can I say, the team have been amazing in helping my mom feel comfortable and at ease in the short time she has been there. The management team have gone above and beyond to help Mom settle
and the whole team have been amazing, incredibly caring and supportive to Mom's needs. We can not thank you enough and we have seen a massive improvement in Mom's mood and comfort in the short time she has been in the care of Sutton Park Grange. Mom hasn't yet taken part in any activities as she is still building up her strength and confidence to participate. Thank you so much for all you have done so far for my mother. Five stars from me.

Sutton Park Grange is a well appointed care home with a touch of luxury. Whenever I've been in to visit my mother it's always looked and smelled clean. The garden is well maintained and it's nice that the residents are encouraged to take part in the planting. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful,
though they seem to have been a bit short-staffed over the last few weeks. It's comforting to know that carer/resident bonding is nurtured, as this will help my mother feel as safe and valued as possible.

Mum has dementia - thankfully not too far advanced, but a series of accidents at home and the realisation on our part that she needs greater care than could be managed at home prompted us to look at Sutton Park Grange, which had been recommended by a friend. The pre-admission process was well handled
- as was the assessment of Mum's condition and needs. She took up residence in Jan '23 and was made to feel very welcome. She had a serious health issue a few days later, and the speedy intervention of the care team identified the issue and got her to the hospital - had she been at home, it might not have been a positive outcome. Since then, she has been well cared for; she is safe, the staff are friendly; the food is good; there are things to do and people to talk to. We can go and see her, and she can come out with us whenever we want. Our day-to-day concerns for her welfare are all under control.
Reply from Karen Handley, Home Admissions Advisor at Sutton Park GrangeThank you for your positive review and recognition of the care team intervention for Mum. We are delighted that she made a speedy recovery and has settled into life here at Sutton Park Grange.

Dad and I have been treated with nothing but kindness since he moved into Sutton Park Grange in April following a spell in hospital. The whole team are welcoming, supportive and easy to communicate with - as well as being across every detail of Dad's needs and being very helpful during the moving-in
process. I have been endlessly impressed at the range of activities on offer and the quality of accommodation and food. Despite taking some time to settle in due to his condition, he seems happy, is eating well and is starting to enjoy his new surroundings.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.885)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.885) out of 10 for Sutton Park Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 40 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.885 for Sutton Park Grange is calculated as follows: ( (432 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 477 Ratings = 4.885
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sutton Park Grange is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I help families who are looking for care for their loved ones, but often, most people have no idea where to start. This can be an emotionally difficult time for the families, and I take my time to understand what their needs are, find out about their relative, the life they have lived and provide them with the relevant details on all aspects of the care we offer. I will then organise the assessment, paperwork & move in, before handing over to our amazing care team who help the residents settle into their new lives here at Sutton Park Grange.
