I am a very close friend to a resident of Avery Care Home Kettering. He is like a dad to me and has been in Avery Care Home for eighteen months now. When he first moved in, he wasn't very well at all after a fall and being in hospital for three months and now, with all the excellent care and attention he is doing really well at the age of nearly 91, even walking again. I visit weekly and take his wife in to see him and always made very welcome. The friendly and caring staff are amazing with him and he always says he's enjoyed his meals. l would like to say he has settled in very well and feels at home in excellent surroundings and well-equipped bedroom. The decision to move him into Avery had the full support of his wife and friends.

Mum is very settled at Avery Park and the care she receives is excellent. The managers and staff really know her well and tailor what they provide to meet her needs. The menu is varied with plenty of choice for all meals. The rooms are kept immaculately as is the whole home. The activity programme caters for a wide range of needs and provides a mix of in-house sessions, trips out and sessions run by outside providers. The entertainers, PAT dog visits, art sessions, and exercise classes all add variety for the residents. It is a pleasure to visit and chat with Mum and other residents. A very well-led and managed care home.

Mum is in the dementia suite and at first took quite a while to settle, but she has been joining in with the craft, entertainment and baking and pictures on social media showed that she was truly enjoying herself. As a result, she is much more settled now which is lovely to see when we visit. The staff are very dedicated and everyone does a really good job. I'm really pleased we chose Avery.

Reply from Lynette Summerfield, Customer Service Manager at Avery Park Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Yes, sometimes it can take a loved one a while to settle into their new environment. The initial move to a care home can be unsettling for all. But we are all delighted that Mum has started to enjoy her new home and all it has on offer. Thank you and all your family for being patient and for all your support.

Our family has been impressed with the level of care and attention given to Mum since arriving at the home. Accommodation is welcoming and to a high standard, the atmosphere relaxing and homely. The staff work incredibly hard to ensure that Mum is well cared for and her needs are taken into account. Their care, kindness and patience are a real credit to them, for which we are so grateful. Family members are warmly welcomed and made to feel part of the home's community. We are so glad we found this home and feel assured that Mum will have the support to live comfortably and safely.

Thank you for your review. The care team will enjoy hearing your praise! As there are TVs in the resident's room we prefer not to overdo things with screens, but will inform our home manager of your request. Yes, the cakes here are pretty delicious, much preferred to pastries. I will let Chef and his team know!

Following a hospital stay, Mum needed extra care, so the family decided on respite. This was so beneficial to Mum, we decided to continue her residency on a permanent basis.
The management staff were very helpful with all aspects of the transition for Mum, and the care/nursing staff have been lovely.

We hope Mum will continue to be very happy there.

Thank you for your lovely review. After a hospital stay we can be very shaken and can lose our confidence, we find that residents regain their confidence on joining Avery Park. I am pleased we were able to transition Mum smoothly to Avery Park and we will work to ensure Mum continues to be very happy here.

Avery Park has been a lifeline for myself and family.
The facility is five-star with staff who are kind, caring, sensitive and professional.
If anybody is thinking that their love one needs a safe place to stay either long or short term. Then I can't recommend Avery Park enough.
Suggesting a caring home to somebody you love can be very tough. The team. From the customer service manager to the carers, cleaners, handyman and reception (especially one member of staff in particular) make it so much easier.

Thank you Avery Park.

Overall Experience
Due to an accident resulting in my Mum no longer being able to live independently, Mum has been at Avery Park Care Home in Kettering since January this year. It was a very difficult and upsetting time for us as it is with many people. However, everyone at Avery Park has made the move and following months as smooth and as easy as possible under the circumstances. The care and attention provided is exceptional and there is always someone on hand to help out or answer any questions. This is top quality Care Provision. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Avery Park to anyone.

The only reason I have given 4 stars for 'value for money' is that the fees for care are expensive in most circumstances, particularly when the person is self-funding. This is not a reflection of Avery Park and the service they provide.

Reply from Lynette Summerfield, Customer Service Manager at Avery Park Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you for a wonderful review. The transition to a care home is a difficult time for the whole family and everyone employed at Avery Park is empathic to this. Thank you for all your feedback, we do price compare ourselves with other care homes in the area and regard our pricing as competitive.

Avery Care "Hotel" is the most amazing home for the older generation to reside in or take respite. The staff are fantastic from carers, front of house, management, restaurant, chefs, cleaners, maintenance, events. The entire team are professional, hardworking individuals but also take their time to ensure the residents are well looked after to the highest degree. You witness this when visiting Avery by the smiles you receive. This is an instant peace of mind for you knowing that everyone is in a happy place. I love having a conversation with all the sofa ladies, so much fun.
Another important factor is the building itself, that is why I like to call it a care "hotel" it looks and is 5 star accommodation that I would be very happy to reside in, pity no beach though!

All in all you could not want a more fabulous residential/respite care than Avery Care Kettering.

My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and was no longer able to live at home as she needed 24-hour supervision/care. She had a beautiful home and obviously did not want to move. I had looked at over twnety homes and Avery Park was the only care home that had beautiful spacious rooms, excellent facilities and activities for the residents, but the most important thing was the care. The staff are very kind, patient and attentive. The top priority is patient-centred care so Mum can have her own routine and eat when she wants to eat etc. The previous care home she was in was very regimented, everyone had to be up and out of their room by 8.30 am and were not allowed to return until 2 pm! Mum was always a late riser and so went to bed later too. At Avery Park she has more freedom, the residents are treated with respect and dignity.

Reply from Lynette Summerfield, Customer Service Manager at Avery Park Care Home - Avery Healthcare

SH, thank you for your lovely review of Avery Park. Your mum is a delight to care for. We are all unique, thank goodness, life would be pretty boring if we were all the same. So like you say, person-centred care is so important, enabling residents to live the life they want.

My mother moved into Avery Park about 12 months ago, and at first, she was quite uncomfortable with the new environment. But gradually she has grown to love her home to the extent that she now never wants to leave. Whenever we visit her she tells us that the staff and facilities are wonderful and she feels so lucky to be able to live there. She emphasises that she has no complaints about the staff, her room, her meals or the other residents - she says that she cannot fault the place. She has never been a very sociable person, but has made one very good friend and now joins in with some of the group activities, which is not like her at all. Avery Park provides a wonderful, safe and caring environment for vulnerable people and I am very happy that we found this place. Keep up the good work Avery Park!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We find there is always a 'settling in' period for most residents when joining a communal living environment, some residents adapt quickly and others take a little longer. Your mum is a delight and a character, making it very easy for us to care for her.

Mum had a week of respite care at Avery in Kettering in October 2023. I had to go away and it was great to know that she would be safe and having fun. She is profoundly deaf and suffers from bouts of sciatica. She enjoyed meeting the other residents and she especially enjoyed the food. One day she went on an outing into the countryside to see pumpkins grown for Halloween. I have to go away again soon, and this time, Mum has ‘asked’ to go to Avery. She is looking forward to her visit, she says for her it is like staying in a very good hotel.

My mum moved to Avery Park in February 2024, and after only a month, I have noticed how much happier, healthier and more relaxed she has become. The staff are so caring and kind and can’t do enough to put smiles on the resident's faces. The daily activities are amazing, which Mum is thoroughly enjoying. The care home is like a luxury hotel and absolutely stunning, the food looks delicious, and the overall facilities such as the cinema room and hair salon are second to none. A warm and happy vibe as soon as you walk through the main reception. I’m so happy we found somewhere so special for my mum, and can’t thank everyone at Avery Park enough.
